The amount of optimization you can achieve on this character make the "dragging"/"Training" resources on the Engineer seem way more like a feature than an exploit.
The "sphere base damage" is when you trow the ball and it bounces around. The 300%/800% bonus applies only after reflecting, it's multiplying the "sphere base damage". Increasing the "sphere base damage" also increases the reflection damage, but i don't think it increases what you were calling "normal mining", that's the "rotational mining damage", which you can only upgrade once.
Came here after watching northernlion play assessor for the first time, because being the king of banter sometimes means you're you're merely a gameplay knave. You played very well and gave a much better idea of what can be done with this character!
Completely agree. I love his commentary and story telling, but this requires much more multitasking than our boomer can handle to be short. Skootie gave me a much better understanding on how I'll play from now on and how crucial the reflection is
LMAO, I thought this character was terrible because I watched NL first then I saw this video and I realized it was not the character at all hahaha. But Egg's bants are 11/10.
What you should do when mining is after you've dug a bit straight down don't dig to the left and right in the same level. If you dug left 4 blocks below your ship dig right 5 blocks below your ship, this way you can shoot your materials to the right while you're on the left so they'll hit the right side or vice versa and then shoot them back up when it's time to collect.
I've watched a few people use character now and I feel its easy to fall into the trap of mining like the engineer. Bouncing seems like a good way to mine straight in front of you for a few materials but you can mine so much more area by letting balls bounce and maximizing how many are on screen at once. Bouncing a single ball is just the engineer but weaker and less efficient.
I like the orbs for mining but the gravity and bundling for picking up stuff seems highly wack and hard to use imo. I think normal picking up would have been fine but I'm sure we'll get used to the zane eventually
Then again, I've only watched Northernlion play the new character so far and he was majorly struggallugging. But you make it look easy Skoottie I don't know how you've already got such proficiency with these new gimmicks.
idea for a character premise, places drills that will mine blocks, and you're able to manually overcharge a drill while standing near it, but usually youll be running around constantly replacing drills
For what it's worth, I think your mining especially early on is very inefficient. The character benefits from a crosswords-shaped mine instead of doing long straight lines. You should use the free bounces a lot more, you don't need to babysit every ball.
i just have such a problem playing as the assessor. Something about it I just don't "get" so I've never completed a run with it... I'm thinking I'll try to start with a lift and do a drillburt run so I can avoid using his orbs entirely.
Does not use electro blast for one whole hour after buying it, starts saving iron for laser upgrades, says screw it and blows all the iron on electro upgrades. CONTINUES TO NOT USE ELECTRO BLAST. Arggghfghghgghgghhhgghhfgg
you say skill, I say pointless rsi, though since they wanna have it multiply the mining damage they can't let you hold it which is the most reasonable control if they hadn't.
if base starting dmg is 1 then 800% is only 8, so it needs to be combined with the base dmg increases. leaving artifacts unbuffed, or even worse not even picking them up, is like only playing half the game. why bother?
I've seen a top prestige player graze the small shooters with the laser before dealing with them on the other side of the battlefield to get them at a better time, try it
Huh interesting to watch a no self-control gamer. "I'm gonna save to buy the laser..... ok I'm going to get it next time.... next time..... I know I said I was going to buy it but...... nah." *edit* Yeah finished the video but to those browsing comments before watching here's what you are in for. Game is great but.... be prepared to have a narration of events that derails at the slightest distraction. He explains things but stops talking mid-sentence, quite frequently, because something in the game distracts him and it's like watching his brain go "OH, a piece of candy.... OH, a piece of candy", and then he forgets what he was talking about before the short-circuit.
Was browsing the comments to see if I can find the commenter which is complaining most while having no self-control and turn the video off. Think I've found him.

i like the part where skoottie said "it's orbin time" and orbed all over the tunnels
Oi this ain’t peglin

No one else streams this game like Skoottie does...and I'm quite thankful for that! Amazing video!
Check out ChristopherOdd, he's the best at commentary and plays on the hardest difficulty

USE YOUR ELECTROSHOCK AAAAAAAA
I feel like you should always shoot an orb before going back in this character for a little passive mining

I love that your first thought was, let's try to send the final relic into the dome after the fight already started to see what happens.
Hey skoottie, have you ever thought about asking your viewers to comment on the videos if they want to like you do with liking the videos?
The amount of not using electro blast in this video is amazing. 🤣
Can you put your cam on the top right instead? It blocks the item descriptions
Yeeeeeees! Laser supremacy!
Also (Edit) *Remarks how little damage the spheres do and then proceeds to completely ignore the sphere damage upgrades*
The orbs are just Drillberts in pokeballs D:

I think it can be far better then the first way but I'm sure it could also be worse if you are very sloppy with it.
The long lasting bundles are nice. You can throw a bunch of things up long shafts (no lift needed), let them hang, collect them later.
Use more than one orb at a time!!! and just concentrate on one for reflecting
Reflection seems kinda op cuz each reflection adds buffs and increases lifetime of the sphere
1 thing
Bundle upgrade tree.
the 3 upgrades that completely overpower this character, and makes the lift useless (and actually sometimes hampering)
idea for a character premise, places drills that will mine blocks, and you're able to manually overcharge a drill while standing near it, but usually youll be running around constantly replacing drills
for whatever reason, this makes me think of a payday player came up of this idea from past drill trama.
With bundling you might want to offset your left and right side of the mines so that the bundles stay in the middle shaft
Can you hold the reflection?
I hope everyone had a good day and a good weekend.
you too big monkey
I love this game so much
you put a smile on my face🤗
Why not use both orbs when mining? Can you not reflect more than one at a time?
Nevermind 😂😐
This is such a cool keeper! I can’t wait to use it in my next video :)
I love your videos and was so excited to see the Accessor! It killed me though how you like never used your electric shock shield ability!!
So that's what the assessor is supposed to look like
For what it's worth, I think your mining especially early on is very inefficient. The character benefits from a crosswords-shaped mine instead of doing long straight lines. You should use the free bounces a lot more, you don't need to babysit every ball.
Flash the flying stealth guys with your laser and save for last. It stuns them and stops them shooting until they stealth again.
I wanted you to get the bundle so much sooner! Otherwise awesome Assessor game play
You can shoot the ball at an angle to hit multiple panels on the sides
Are the eyes in the mines there to be scary or do they serve a purpose lore wise?
i just have such a problem playing as the assessor. Something about it I just don't "get" so I've never completed a run with it... I'm thinking I'll try to start with a lift and do a drillburt run so I can avoid using his orbs entirely.
What does the tree domes buffs do to this character? Playing as engineer it had drill speed, etc which wouldn't apply here.
this mans fully upgrades electroblast and refuses to use it, I swear.
how do you reflect?
You have to get the bundle feature! You can shoot all resources from the very bottom into the dome :)
I saw MASS A**ES in the thumbnail and was very concerned for you Skootie.
Whats with the eyeball?
Is there no more battle music or is it just a bug?
Upgrading the eletroshock he never uses..
How are you mining so fast?
Does not use electro blast for one whole hour after buying it, starts saving iron for laser upgrades, says screw it and blows all the iron on electro upgrades. CONTINUES TO NOT USE ELECTRO BLAST. Arggghfghghgghgghhhgghhfgg
He keeps buying the electroblast and not using it.
The sounds remind me of the Playstation 2 system sounds lol
when the time was blocking the second word on the title screen, i thought i was "all asses" XD
Came here specifically to comment on the timestamp turning the thumbnail into "MAX ASSES"
Prettty nice keep it up
Why don't you pull at least 2-3 orbs when going back up the well every time to the base, you're wasting resources when you just bare run it??
if you get the bundle and 5000% lifetime on bundle you can send whole bundles of like 20 resources and sling them all the way to the top
That's what I just commented the lift is useless with the assessor
assessor button smasher
you say skill, I say pointless rsi, though since they wanna have it multiply the mining damage they can't let you hold it which is the most reasonable control if they hadn't.

You may want to do the radar a little earlier. LOL you're out of health 5 waves in. haha
Solid
Aaarrghhh why leave 3 spaces between shafts?? It's two spaces between!
I've seen a top prestige player graze the small shooters with the laser before dealing with them on the other side of the battlefield to get them at a better time, try it
Bruh already? Btw luv ur vids

the assessor is heavily reliant on having the lift is 1 thing i dont like about it.
Man, I love your video, but why has this one got an ad every 4 minutes? I mean seriously man, it really ruins it.
your camara is reaaly bad placed
Clickbait, you didn't 'fully' upgrade the assessor... {:-)
The amount of ads is putting me off this channel... ffs........
