Yes drones are super useful on iron delivery, especially with the packager gadget because they can take bundles of 7 or 12 at a time. Although a good argument is made for the orchard as well, max level fruits provide a crazy boost to digging and movement speeds that will get you to the deeper jucier deposits faster.
Hi Dex, I preordered this game when the first demo came out and I entirely forgot about it. I reinstalled, played a few runs, and this is one of the most fun games I’ve ever played. Thanks for reminding me about it, I will definitely keep playing
Should have taken drones, the combat abilities are disabled but the logistics drones still work. My build that made the challenge mode easy (though it still came down to the last second) was drone bay and iron worms with the fast worms upgrade. You only have 20 minutes in the challenge mode, so the meticulous worms are just too slow. Iron worms can attach to any side of a tile, by the way, including the bottom, and you can attach multiple iron worms to one deposit to mine it out faster (though that's completely unnecessary if you go with fast worms). Also, why does it seem like no UA-camr understands how the iron worms work? Unleveled iron worms give you three pieces per iron tile, which is on average an increase over the one to three you get from manual mining. Careful worms give you four pieces per iron tile, and meticulous worms give you five. Even going with the fast worms line gives you more iron than you'd get from manual mining, and they're good to use even before you get the upgrades.
Ho boy. Let's get started on this. #1) You are recommending me to do something where I said in the video that I wasn't aware would happen - that I don't get attacked. And I realized myself Drones would've been really good in that case. It makes no sense to evaluate my judgement on a case where I'd knew I won't get attacked if I don't know I won't get attacked. #2) As long as the worms can finish, they are good enough. Speed is not required if they finish in time and you get additional Iron out of it. The reason I kept the worms around is because I didn't know the map, but I know the main limitation I will face with the worms is that they have a set production cycle, so there is no need to waste them. There is a balance and especially in time senstive challenges I use worms early to get a kickstart, but here it's really not needed. I beat the challenge difficulty in 18 minutes with Iron Worms that that give +3 Iron (the time limit is 25 minutes there, not 20). #3) Regarding how the worms work, because the game tells you "1 additional ressource", not that they extract a set amount of 3. Don't fault someone playing the game for ambiguous or straight up misleading wording. Iron drops 1-4 Ore per tile, an additional one would imply you get 2-5. #4) The fast line worm is accurate, but only a concern if you can't get them upgraded fast or are running on a tight schedule as mentioned above, that you quickly have to protect yourself with dome upgrades. Else you can quickly scout for water, upgrade the worms and swim in a ton of Iron that allows you to get to a point where the game is over within 10 minutes of playing (as in, you can't lose anymore, not that it's literally over). If I'd ever be under a lot of pressure I may go for the fast line, but I honestly don't see a big reason. I won't carry bag the Iron the moment it's mined either way, but when I return. And if I can return to 15 Iron instead of 9 Iron, then I don't see a reason why it matters a lot (on a 3 node Iron vein). And while 15 Iron takes 3 minutes, we compare it to the 9 Iron, which is "only" 108 seconds, the rest is a bonus. In other words, if you can afford a time penalty of 108 seconds, then I see no reason to go for fast worms. Now there is one I can see, which is a map with many small gold veins, where you go for the dual worm upgrade, but I feel like this requires some proper math. If a normal iron tile gives you on average 2.5 iron, then the only need for an iron worm that averages 3 is when you have a REALLY tough time schedule and can even afford to get the upgrade, which is a bit conflicting. Like in such a case I most likely wouldn't even go for Worms.
When I went in I thought I have to play the normal game, collect 200 Iron (but like, as total collected, not hand it in) and hold off waves. So I chose the Shield upgrade to give myself more protection, allowing me to walk around more - and that's also the reason you see a changed Dome (the Tesla one) because I wanted to give it a shot
Don't want to back seat game but you need mine left and right and only go two up or two down then mine again unless you get the vision upgrade you'll be missing a lot of water and cobalt if you dont
I wqs about to say "there probably is in German", but no - it's "Eisen". Though I bet it used to be pronounced in Middle English or even early modern English. :)
@@dnebdal Yep, in middle english it was "iren" with the pronounciation /ˈiːrən/. Tbh, that surprised me. In middle European schools we learnt to pronounce it exactly like the middle english version, seems like our schools are more than 500 years behind, lol.
I don't even think it's dishonest. The thumbnail shows roughly 300 iron blocks total, which is less than the amount I mined (200+all upgrades). The portrayal of it is not how it was, but the purpose of a thumbnail is to reflect an entire video idea/concept. And what happened is that I had to mine the amount seen to win the run.

Amazing job. It surprises me that you barely scratched the surface and got the 200 you needed.

Loving the Dome Keeper videos!! Great work man!
You have earned this subscription This was definitely entertaining.
I hopr you make more videos about this game, used to only watch VS but I'm really enjoying those different games as well
That ending was funny😂😂😂
I love your dome keeper vidéo, can't wait for the next one ! (Btw yes the drone were activated on the drone dome, sorry)
Padding would have been crazy for max hp
... we really need a 'drone hello' mod for this game!
Drones totally work
I struggled against this challenge even with the drones, i think the worms make a gigantic difference
Wow ive never been this early
Big fan of you dex ❤

Background music is too loud @Dex
I really tought that the thumbnail is real
you can use drones on these ones.. fyi..
Whats the background music of the beginning of the video?
I think you should play test version. It's more fun
the fact that you took shield dome pisses me off lmao (theres no enemies in that mode)
It wouldn’t matter anyway
This mission is more or less impossible without drones, and the shield is utterly useless because there's no enemies. If it were me I'd restart.
Who up playin wit dey worms rn
