    I like to imagine that every time someone bags a Munro, there are a group of unimpressed mountain goats already there waiting to stare at them. ;)

    Totally with you about Loch Maree. Kudos for lugging that much kit up Slioch in those temperatures!
    I've always found it hard to make mountain climbing films but this works a treat!
    I'd always been told that the Slioch name came from the mountain being shaped like a flint arrowhead when viewed from above. As a kid, I puzzled how they knew it looked like an arrowhead from above. Gaels in Space!

    Thank you for the video. Am away to climb Slioch soon. Interesting with the goats, in Gaelic Gobhar, or Gaibhre (in the south and eastern Highlands). There are a lot of place names in the mountains with Gobhar in the title, indicating goats were very common in Scotland. I wonder if this is a wild goat herd left over after the clearances?

    Spectacular! I couldn't help but to try to see what wild foods were along the way - no luck! :) Loved this! The scenery is somewhat similar to what we have here on our east coast in Labrador - the Torngat Mountain range. Just about the same latitude too!

    Arran Arrannn woww you are bringing happiness to a Monday morning hahaha. What a nice video with incredible shots!, really, Scotland is amazing. Every time that I'm talking about travelling with my Danes friends I'm telling them, go to Scotland go go go, but be aware that you might never forget that beautiful place and you will want just come back and come back haha. I hope i can go for another trip there! Alba is so addictive! and please i got curious about the bags (something) that you were mentioning XD hopefully you will explain it in another video :)

    • @ArranOfAlba
      @ArranOfAlba  3 роки тому +1

      That's awesome Estephanie! You're not alone there, apparently one or two others to get the same bug in Scotland! The Munro Baggers you are referring to are people who climb the largest Mountains in Scotland, The Mountains over 3000ft are called Munros (another long story) so people climb all 280+ Munros - bagging is like to collect! Come join me one day and bag your own Munro!

      Arran Of Alba 🤣🤣. Best purchase on Skye a few years ago was a waist length midgie net with long sleeves and full face hood. I wear it on summer evenings when l take the dogs for a walk along the river. I get some funny looks but who cares when it does the job.
