Scotland... A country of mystery and a jaw-dropping history. It is my true passion, our ancient culture and history is what has shaped our modern-day Scotland. I believe that every country had very similar beliefs before the powers of civilizations overran our ways of life, I'm just searching for what i believe is real!

Culloden - Only The Innocent Suffer
The Battle of Culloden, 16th April 1746
To tell the tale of Culloden is extremely important and for me a huge pressure to not let the men down who were there. I'm not saying that I know everything about the politics of the battle and nobody ever will, but when I research history I can only put myself in my ancestors shoes. These men who gave their lives were innocent men and boys whose lives were meaningless to the powers that be and those that survived would never live in peace again. I also never mentioned the brutality of the aftermath of Culloden but I guess that all deserves a video of its own.
I hope to see many of you at the memorial next year!

The Last Clan Battle - The Battle of Mulroy
Переглядів 1,7 тис.2 роки тому
The Battle of Mulroy is seen by some as the last clan battle of Scotland, but in fact the Mackintoshes were supported by the government. The opposition was the Macdonalds of Keppoch over disputed land. Whether you regard this as the finale to the clan battles or not, it's an incredible tale of how life was for the Highlanders. A Place To Tell A Tale - Torridon - Am Ploc

Scotland is a country rich in folklore, tales of the Giants, Fairies, Witches, Elves and so many other fascinating beings. Am Ploc in Torridon is the most perfect of all locations to tell such tales which were told by our ancestors. I'm very sorry if this video is not smooth, I've been trying for hours to try and get it perfect but I think my camcorder really didn't appreciate the rain and wind...

Culsh Earth House is a fantastic example of an underground chamber or souterrain which many believe were used as storage for the grains and goods of the ancient people. For me i think these chambers were used as a way to connect with the ancestors and the underworld. St Gilbert - The Dragon Slaying Bishop
Переглядів 5142 роки тому
St Gilbert was the Bishop of Caithness in the 1200s and he left an incredible legacy, as a master builder and probably a mason he was able to construct cathedrals/churches, palaces and castles all over the area. Today I go to check out Skelbo Castle and the Dornoch Cathedral which is the second smallest Cathedral in Scotland. Although he has clearly had a massive influence in the town nothing c...

The tree walks with us in its own time. All to cool
The hill is called Bennachie in the Grampians The cold wind blows there all year round The Romans would have hated it in winter,,The hill is on an episode of Digging for Britain and they were making iron on top of it probably Swords,,I live next to the beach in Aberdeen city center and when i go to the beach i can see it in my mind,,Little white tents stretching from the Dee to the Don The beach lined up with Roman ships filled with Romans,There is a pier along the don mouth which is still there you can see the stumps at low tide,The town of Kintore further in land was a massive fort inside the town has a big bog i will bet that is where the 9th legion rest
please dont start fires in the valuable archeological sites
Well done, add in the name of the poet, ANEIRIN, Bard and Druid of Y Gododdin. Tell how Mynedd Agned the mountain had its name changed to Arthur's Seat. More please as this is our real history which every child should be taught in school. You give me hope, all is not lost when young people like you keep faith with our true past. Thank you. Isabella.
This is absolutely enchanting, the way you captured everything; the visuals, the story telling. You certainly have a gift.
This is an excellent history channell. Your tell the stories as if we are tgere living it. Love it. Please do more.

The Wrong Turn
Holywood and Hollywood Holy meaning set apart from the majority Hollywood is not set apart from the majority, Holywood is in Scotland...we are almost finished and the truth of where Hollywood get these grand ideas from is about to be shown it is mostly from those that do not live like those Hollywood stars...
The Knights know what they were and is doing, and Scotland is going to love them again soon...you have my word...for whatever it's worth..
Thanks for the video. 🙏🏽🪷 Have you visited kingley vale?
Been missing you on UA-cam mate! Any plans for posting some more videos?
It is logical they would come from France, where they were being persecuted by the Catholic church. To Scotland, post Reformation. The country was no longer under the Papacy. It was a safe haven. We won't ever, know for sure. As a lot of information, is lost to time.
Just found this video today.. we subscribed 30 seconds into it🌳 We are Scottish Irish and my Mum came from a long line of Druids..🌳 Although Christian she spoke fluent Gaelic and taught us.. she also taught us to respect Nature and what she called the Old Ways.. Oaks are our favorite trees and we have many on our property.. 🌳 They are very easy to grow.. actually if you have but one fruiting oak you will have a grove.. then a forest in about 20 years..🌳🌱 When Mum died we were given this land from her and we planted a bunch of acorns and turned about half our acre yard into a small forest!! You will have no problem growing them.. they are so beautiful when they reach a few feet in height.. the leaves are so huge., amazing how fast they grow..🌳 As children we climbed many of the young oaks my Mum had planted earlier.. these are now beautiful trees.. still remember climbing to the top as far I could go.. and the magical feel of the breeze swaying me about..🌳 Always saddens us knowing that Scotland has been cruelly deforested.. our dream is to see oaks like those in your video preserved and others planted.. reforestation is our passion..🌳 Thank you again for this incredible video.. we wish you the best with growing the oaks 🌳😊 Slan mo charaid William and Jen 💜💙🌳🌹🦋
I thought goddoddin was Welsh, not Scottish. I was always told it was a Welsh story. Why?
Visited there 8 years ago when I was a young man of 63. Amazing to know that you are stepping in the footsteps of our ancestors! To touch a stone almost 1,000 years old lain by a cousin, uncle or even a grandfather! Thanks for bringing that feeling back to an old man from America!❤️
I have been there and there is an old smell from all of the rotting cloots.
Grandfather Oak is my birth tree according to the Celtic tree calendar. Thank you for sharing such a sacred experience with us. Great camera 🎥 moves, too. It achieved its intention with me, feeling as though I was passing thru a portal 🏵️💫. Blessed be! 🎉🥳🎊🍀💥🙏
None of these wall carvings are ancient.
Thanks for this Arran. Appreciate it lad. I'm on a mission to find out the medicine of the Yew. You've pointed to it in this video. I've sat with the Brazilian medicines a few times, but I feel more drawn to work with the Gaelic plant teachers. I know there's more than just mushrooms to sit with.🤔 From what I can tell, my name means small Yew in old Irish.
Its funny how this guy is trying to sound tough .... .. he'll be easy prey for 3 finger
I wouldn’t call the Jacobite clansmen innocent…. they mercilessly slaughtered retreating and surrendering government soldiers at multiple battles, like at Prestonpans in 1745. They caused a huge amount of unrest and strife in their unjust attempt to put a Catholic on the throne of an overwhelmingly Protestant kingdom. Of course, the women and children who suffered because of the reprisals were innocent. However, in the 18th century, brutality was common.
Great work. Thanks
You should camp there overnight
Thank you for the video. Am away to climb Slioch soon. Interesting with the goats, in Gaelic Gobhar, or Gaibhre (in the south and eastern Highlands). There are a lot of place names in the mountains with Gobhar in the title, indicating goats were very common in Scotland. I wonder if this is a wild goat herd left over after the clearances?
I am sorry, but I think that political maneuvering has always been a part of Roman history. Agricola, for example, was recalled by Emperor Domitian because his successes in Britain (including Caledonia) outshone the emperor’s own modest victories. Similarly, Germanicus faced political setbacks despite his triumphs against the Germanic tribes in revenge for Teutoburg. The Romans were a clever and pragmatic civilization, prioritizing stability and economic flow over expanding into territories like Caledonia, which they deemed strategically unimportant. Tacitus may have portrayed their actions in Britain with epic flair, but it’s clear that the Romans focused on showcasing their supremacy effectively. Ultimately, they fortified their position with a wall, acknowledging that some regions were not worth the resources. Even today, southern Britain (London...)remains more developed, reflecting these historical choices. While nationalistic sentiments endure, history reveals the Romans' calculated decisions regarding their empire's boundaries.
Respect to Clanranald! It is a really special place. Love the music you chose ❤
