Get an Eco Diesel, 70k on my 2016 and it’s only been to the shop 11 times!
Not gonna lie, had us in the first half! Haha
Gotta coworker on his third ecodiesel engine. Still claims it's the best engine ever.
I haven't heard good things about the eco diesels.
My uncle got a '16 ecodiesel he has 67k miles, he hasn't had any problems...yet
120 thousand miles and no problems.
Bought my ram 2010 2500 mega cab 4x4 diesel slt new in 2010. Got 115,000 on it and haven't had one problem yet. Except for the left rear shock started leaking and I replaced it. Not bad. Best truck I have ever had. Never getting rid of it.
Pantera4u Pantera4u Just passed 101k on my 2014. No problems either except for a recalled water pump, which I replaced myself. Not a big deal, cuz it’s so easy working on a Cummins motor.
1. New Dodge Cummins are more common in the shop due to the DEF system implemented and causing issues with the system.(3 mechanics all 10-20+ years of experience, most common truck to go through the dealerships with issues are new DEF added trucks
2. 40K miles on a truck with dirt under it.... come on now, a truck is meant for that. If you want a pavement princess get a Chevy then.
3. You legit made a 10Minute video to say
- Trucks dirty under
- not a mega cab....
Yikes
ChosenOG its not the dirt that bothers me. Its RUST. Nothing that new should have rusted parts. Buy southern trucks unless you're buying new
Dude you sound like you at least know some about diesel trucks so at least get the name correct. It's not a freaking Dodge anymore. Hasn't been for almost a decade now.
@@frankjones3073 It happens to everything eventually on the underside
6.4 2008 f250 2
190k miles on it still running strong i always use it for towing and its still runs good
I always love stock dodge wheels. 3rd gen wheels wrapped with 33’s on my second gen. Such a good classy look. 35s would look great.
33 is perfect for the 17s but 35s deserve a 18 rim
Just bought a new Cummins. Love the truck. All three are good, drove a new ford, and gmc and the ram, they are all top notch really can’t go wrong either way.
I upgraded and studded my 2018 Ram 2500 tradesman crewcab Cummins at 9,000 miles. l also added a FASS, a deep trans pan, trans thermo block delete, an ATS trans case brace, onboard air compressor w/ a 5 gallon tank, rear air bags, horns and air tool quick connects. It runs and tows like it should now. Fuel mileage averages are 19 city and 25 hwy when I’m not towing.
That one tan and brown/redish leather is one of my favorites!! Looks awesome
I haven’t watched your channel in awhile but when u said “the owners will be happy with these trucks” my heart sank. The og 2nd gen was dope
I have a 4th Gen. You should go with mega cab and single wheel 350 for the transmission. Unless you want to spend another 8K on a built 68 RFE. Stock 68 can't handle the power. I'm building one now and my truck only has 550hp to the rear tire. Love the truck though....good luck!
I’ve got two kids and my 4th gen crew cab has more than enough room for them and their stuff.
Honestly I have had all of the big 3 trucks. They all have problems. BUT the Ram with G56 and Cummins IS the best way to go. 6 in a row ready to tow. Easy to work on and modify
I'd agree. I'm no mechanic and my 07 is easy to work on. I've been able to successfully teardown and fix the g56 transmission. I've also fixed the transfer case. And replaced the clutch 3 times. I've added air bags water/meth injection. Intake horn stack n all the other add ons. Without any problems.
3:05 good thing you brought the boss so you don't make any bad decisions 🤣
I have a 1998 with a 12 valve extended cab 4 door how much would you sell it for ? Just curious ?
Man who knew a year from this video you'd have a platinum and a mega cab and a new shop lol
Looking for 1st gen 12 valve 1ton dually in NC. Any ideas? Thanks
Should have kept one of those older gen Dodge's. Easy to maintain and very reliable compared to the issues of all the new models with DEF.
Is it alright for a one ton diesel to have a small oil leak, 2018 with 20,000 miles?
Still a gen 2 owner, looking to update my headlights, saw that you had different ones on your 24V's, what do you recommend for the best down the road visibility? Good luck on your truck shopping.
Dave Kana funny you ask haha, check out tonight’s video to get your question answered! I think you will really like them!
The stock rims on the black 2500 in the middle are my favorite dodge stock rim
why Mega Cab? i got plenty of room in my Crew 2500
2006 2500 SLT, 4x4, Single Cab, Long Bed, 5.9 Cummins, G56 6 Speed. Almost 290,000. Changed wheel bearings, clutch and the water pump. Been a great truck so far. I would still trade it for a '97 or '98 12 valve of the same build.... just always wanted a P-Pumped 12v
My pops has a 4th gen with just the standard crew cab. No mega cab. Trust me it’s is more than enough room to raise a family. My brother is 6’3 and he has plenty of leg room and when he rides in the back.
I think mega cab rides better though somehow. Compared to the crew cab 8ft box
Yea loud n proud did just bought a new RAM not that long ago, it is nice, the only thing I don't like about these newer diesels it the DEF
Dang Brother I just started working there beginning of the week. Stan Starks is the man to talk to when it comes to sales
Yea loud n proud got a sweet dodge with a longhorn mega cab, 3500 not a dually and regular bed instead of the long bed..
Garrett McCord until he gives it up in another giveaway
It is up with the red first gen in a new giveaway.
Another dumb giveaway?
My 03 5.9 common rail/ nv4500 5speed has been very reliable. My 17 2500 is getting fully deleted so it will be reliable.
So why were you glad you didn’t buy the truck and what exactly should you check for? Did I miss something?
Thats the Mitchell dodge dealership in Enterprise. I worked there when it was Tim Whitehead Chrysler dodge jeep
Ok I love Rams!! I drive a 2011 Hemi Ram 1500 as work truck for about a year and haven't had any issues. (Which doesn't look like a work truck just saying.) My job rented a 2019 f250 super duty for me to pull a heavy trailer to a job sight. That super duty was the bomb. It drove like a Cadillac,It pulled nice, and was pretty fast. The f250'$ pick up off the line wasn't as fast as the Hemi Ram but its fast. The look of the Super Duty is pretty amazing to.🙂 Hey good luck on your search and purchase of your new truck.👍 Funny I didn't see any comments about Silverado's lol 🤔😂🤣
No fender extensions? Around my area if your tire sticks past fender you risk getting stopped
Correct me if I am wrong but with the 5th gen 1500 rams to come in 2019. I may have heard the 5th gen HD ram would come to us in 2020. If you are purchasing a new one the might wait till the 5th gen pops.
Awesome video
Can't wait to see you buy to replace the 2nd gen
I would be iterested in buying a truck would like 4 door 3500 ram with 6.7L deleted and tuned what do you need
Have a 2014 ram 2500 with the cummins it needed a new computer at around 90,000 minutes. It still won't start sometime because the computer will not tell the starter to activate so i had to install a bypass starter button and toggle switch for when it acts up.
thank you for your service
Always check for water on the 4th gens ive owned 2 and both leaked water from 3rd brake light into cab and i had about 5 gallons of water under the back seats
zack tuttle ok try shutting the door
Im gonna miss those three trucks. But I know you’re gonna build a badass new one.
they shouldnt charge you to remove pin stripes. they add the pinstripes at the dealership to try and jack up the price to the maroni label.
We're in WNC with an 06 2500 mega cab with less than 94k miles. It has a 6" lift, oversize wheels and tires. She hates driving it in the mountains so we're going midsized Taco.Has a camper shell as well and ladder rack. 863=412=9692
I love the new long horns omg
Yea dude i know how ya feel. Ive always had 2nd gen trucks and then i bought a brand new ram 3500. Night and day difference. Kinda boring to drive because a computer does it all for you. The space in them is amazing but im still a 2nd gen fan.
Pumped that you’re going 4th gen. Looking forward to seeing what you get!
Every time I watch one of your videos your voice gets deeper and deeper
Great trucks I have a Ford f450. Thinking of selling it getting a dodge 3500 dually or a Chevy 3500 dually. Make it to my rig welding also for my daily drive. My 2004 Ford is only for work single cap
I thought that Chrysler Dealer ship looked very familiar. I can’t believe I’ve never seen that First gen around town.
I really liked the first gen build.
Ima miss the 2nd gens, I know CP4 injections pumps have problems but I think those newer Cummins still use CP3 pumps.
Cp4 is a duramax thing....
SkyHighDiesel CP4’s are used more then just on duramax
CP4 are on ‘11-‘16 Duramax, ‘11-‘16 powerstroke, and ‘19-‘20 Cummins
You detail your trucks better then the dealers! Lol
Where would I go to look at what you have for sale when you get more trucks
I was a little nervous about you selling the silver 2nd Gen. But seeing those new trucks I'm excited and cant wait for tomorrows upload!! Now that your moving to the civilian work are you going to stay in law enforcement since you where an MP in the Army? That would be super cool because I'm about to become a law enforcement officer so having one of my favorite UA-camrs as a brother in blue would be awesome!!
What are you doing for a career now that you are out of the military? Joining the military reserves and the local police department?
Yeah
@@Chevyfan-tl2kw You can run, but youll aways get caught. Chick had an issue in florida and found her the highest point in alaska. Transported her back for court without hesitation.
Jesus trucks these days amazing I would feel right actually working with them
I saw a video where Ford has 3 litre v 6 diesel f150. I think the mileage was 23 city 30 highway. Quiet running. Towes 9,000 lbs though guy in video suggested only 5,000.
I love roof lights pin stripes are for pimps..love the gen 4 trucks
Loud and proud bought Bruce’s longhorn
We had them to add the cab lights for free. Got 12k off msrp and the ram fifth wheel hitch as well for free
what did u buy
Hope you’re doing good brotha!
You to man!
And the Laramie and Laramie longhorns aren’t the same man. Clean longhorn though. Love the new red stitching
Make the channel great agian
Imma liking this content im hearing
I have a 2002 Ram with a 5.9 Magnum. Owned it since if was new. Looking to sell it and buy new.
You must haul a lot of heavy stuff with those big diesels you must have a fifth wheel or a big trailer
Interior looks bad to the bone. I love it, the past 3 years me and the dad and pappaw have all went from fords to dodges, yes I love a 6.7 ford and we still have a 350 dually we pull dozer and tractor with but we have bought 2 new 2500 rams the past year I love them , if I was full time day to day hot shotting and running 3500 I may go ford, but still probably ram with the aisin in it
Lol up north a 2016 would already have serious rust
Try to get a ram with the newer trans, it's the same company that makes the automatics in Toyotas I believe
The truck looks like it's been on those red dirt roads in lower Alabama, like Dale County🙄
We have a 96 ram 1500 and we live in Michigan, it’s Baaaad
Looking at a 2011 Dodge 3500 Megacab dually Laramie 4x4, all the bells n whistles. Texas owned, no rust, great shape. All stock drive train, frequent service. It is leveled with brand new Fuel triton 20” wheels and brand tires 275/65r20 all the way around. LineX bed (they may come that way). It is automatic. Drives like a charm.. But 196,000 miles... I don’t mind high miles on diesel 6.7 but after tax title license fees it’s 38K our the door paying cash.. on paper books for less but hard to find anything much better... is this a “decent” deal? Need a new work truck and a tax write off to save $12,000 on owed taxes but has to be bought by Jan 1.
Long horn southfork edition, good lookin Interior.
Austin. I have the regular brown Long Horn interior on a 17, 2500. That tan is really nice. Never have seen it before.
I have the Longhorn Laramie with the brown leather. Love the interior every time I get in. Especially the gauge cluster with its detailed inscriptions. 👍
I like the look of the crew cab over mega cab, what do you care? You will never be back there lol
Definitely need to check out some of the new F250 trucks if you get a chance. That Ram was very nice though I have to admit lol
Platinum f250 is the way to go
You don’t get any more leg room with a mega cab
Yeah but the rear seats recline
The rear seat recline is good, but not worth the tightness against your shoulder if your a bigger guy.
Love the mega cab. I wouldn't go back. I have room for suitcases behind the back seats.
That's a nice truck
actually quality went up on the iPhone
I would be glad that i didn’t but a Dodge also!!
No way that was a farm truck... way to clean
Why so keen on the mega cab? For the kids? I’ve been raising three kids putting them in the back of 4th Gen Rams. Multiple car seats, every size of car seat. The mega cab has always seemed to be a way over the top option. But maybe your kids will suddenly grow to be 7ft tall?
Piston Honda I second this comment, I have a son and a set of twins all under 2 and everyone fits perfectly
Piston Honda they do look amazing, I love them but yes little to over the top
Kids are always better in a crew cab. Keeps them in slapping range when they act up. Mega cabs, though they are nice for long trips and camping in or hot shot, they are useless for the every day person.
Sinister diesel sign behind him 😂
Rhett Boyce Been ripped down lol watch a recent vid
Manual shift 4x4 is a must !!
If you get a dodge definitely get a mega cab.
Only bad thing with a brand new truck is you only do so much before that warranty is GONE!! Unless you are Greg A and don’t have to pay for anything
You never see a Dodge owners converting their trucks to a powerstroke, I know ford and Chevy owners converting their trucks to the Cummings
Never heard of a Cummings before. Also Fiat Chrysler has a contract with Cummins to put their engine in the Rams. Dodge has nothing to do with the company Cummins otherwise. Fiat Chrysler is the only one out of the big 3 that can't make it's own diesel engine for their trucks lol.
Why would Chrysler go with a different diesel when they have the best and only true diesel on the market?? I say true, because Cummins motors are the only motors originally designed for use in heavy equipment and machinery. GM and ford motors were only designed for use in pickups.
Dieselman8v92 Duramax is actually made by Isuzu and up until the Ford 6.7 the Powerstrokes were made by International. So Dodge isn’t the only one that’s used diesel engines made by other manufacturers.
Dieselman8v92 and that's a great thing! The powerbroke is trash!!
@@givnofuchs5742 , the Power Stroke IS used in other heavier duty applications, not just light pick-ups. It is used in all the way up to an F-750.
Underneath of that truck was just dirty nothing wrong with it the dealership just didn't clean it
I agree hate the pinstripes. I wouldn't pay dime to have them remove. Take them off or I aint buying it. Got to call their bluff sometimes. How bad you want this sale.
I love the cummins. I may be biased though😏
Anyone else have this problem? When I drive with my multi-function tailgate open, even if it has a load on it (picture 12' lumber, or a sofa), it becomes unhinged from the pins and is a BITCH to put back on. The tailgate is really heavy and cumbersome and requires two STRONG men to get it back on. Luckily, I did find a fix for this.
A light you turn on and off, a vehicle with an internal combustion engine, you start and shut off.
Step 1. Make sure it’s a cummins
step 3. as any good cummins owner get ur self a boyfriend
LOL, the wife is with to make sure I don't make any bad decisions
My 5.7 last 270k no shop time, then a blown cam shaft, results cost 3500$$$$
Hes gonna go look at a F250. Everyone wants to hate them but the new ones are kind of cool lol coming from a chevy fan who turned to dodge after looking into the cummins engines.
Ford is on top period. Every single Chevy fan boy I know has switched to the f250s.

Coming from a Duramax and previous Cummins owner!
Jimmy Newtron nope fuck Ford
i don’t like any other Fords but the new 2017 and up powerstrokes. i’m a gm guy but i might have to check these sick new powerstrokes out.
Went from a 2013 dodgevram 3500 hd to a 2018 ford powerstroke. Hands down ford for the win in my opinion
Buy a hemi 2 years only had to do oil changes and a wheel bearing
I have a 2012 dodge Cummins. Way underpowered poor fuel mileage and my Chevy 6.0 litre gas easily out pulls it
I don’t know where people find all these dodges that are not ate up with rust. Can’t even find a 3rd gen around here besides a 2nd gen that’s not rusted or full of bondo. That sport looks good
Deere 6430 I feel bad for you guys in areas prone to rust. I live in the southwest where we never see or worry about rust on vehicles.
megacabs come stick level
I guess the camera hides a lot. The underneath was a little dirty. Someone drove it down a dirt road. That means it’s worn out!
Oh didn't know trucks didn't get dirty underneath 😂
