      Definitely a close call on this one! I'd say that if you're more attacking or need more power in your overheads, then 88D Pro. If you're a bit more of a rally player and like lighter rackets, then the 100ZZ.

    Awesome review guys! Just wondering if you can compare the front-court play and defence between the 4U 88D Pro and 100zz, since they are head-heavy and suited for rear court players. Was wondering which one you think plays better for a more all-round doubles racquet? Thanks!

    • @Volantbadminton
      @Volantbadminton  3 роки тому +10

      Hey Ryan, I'd probably say that the 100ZZ is a bit faster as it doesn't feel as head heavy as the 88D Pro. But with that, there's a bit of a sacrifice for power as we feel that the 88D Pro is better for rear court power!
      As a more 'all-round' doubles racket, probably have to say the 100ZZ but if someone commented below saying that they'd think the 88D Pro, that would be really reasonable too! They're both good rackets and if I were to choose a Yonex racket to buy right at this moment, it would be between these two..... and I would choose the 88D Pro!

      The 3U Arc11 is a fantastic racket, not sure I would be really calling any of the current Yonex series an upgrade? If you're after an upgrade I'd suggest stick to the Arc11 but if you're after something new, then there isn't really even-balanced rackets from Yonex currently available that is a better choice that the Arc11 (in our opinion). If you're after something new and you don't mind other balance then you've got options. We're going to need some more information to give you the right kind of help :)

      Depends on how important the racket is to your playing ability. For most top end Yonex rackets, we would probably say no you don't need to as realistically, it's not going to make you a better player 😊. Hi guys, I am Rakesh from india. I seen all your reviews, it's so professional and so unique.
    The way you both are explaining about the merits and demerits of the rackets are so useful for us to choose the perfect racket.
    I need your suggestions. Presently I am using two rackets - kawasaki assassin 6720 & yonex muscle power 29 lite. In the said rackets I can't able to generate power smash as well as placement accuracy. Moreover, my wrist, forearm & shoulder get strained like anything on every match.
    So I decide to change the racket. Now, all I need is your guidance & suggestions. Because most of the time I play from back court. Which model racket is perfect for me to perform better.
    1. Astrox 77
    2. Astrox 88D pro
    3. Astrox 99
    4. Astrox 100zz
    5. Nanoflare 800
    Please don't care about the Aesthetics. Consider the performance of the racket. Also, in india Volant rackets are not available for sale.
    I know I am explaining too much. Sorry for the inconvenience. Kindly guide me which is perfect.

      Hi Rakesh,
      Thanks for your feedback - and just remember that everyone's opinions are different :)
      I haven't used the Kawasaki racket or the MP 29 Lite so I can't really comment on them. If you play more in the rear court, I'd choose the 88D Pro out of the list that you've written. Next after that, I'd be thinking either the 100ZZ or 77. The 99 is also good but it feels a bit to stiff for my liking. Hope that helps!

    I currently have the z force 2 lin Dan edition and it's a very stiff, head heavy racket but quite manageable and really produces great power for smashes.
    Do you think the 88d pro would be a good upgrade from the z force 2? Cause I feel that the swinging of z force 2 takes some effort to do when in doubles. But not really a problem during single plays.
    I also have in mind to pick some lighter rackets, for better maneuverability that can produce some power yet great in control like the NF800 3u version, but which racket out of the 2 would you suggest me switching considering I'm currently using the Lin Dan z force 2?

      Two very different rackets that you're comparing Jhudiel. I think you should make your decision based on a) what rackets you prefer (head light, even-balance, head-heavy) and b) after trying them if possible. 88D Pro, in our opinion, would be a good upgrade from the Z force II, it'll be more forgiving and easier for you to generate power given what you've mentioned. I was excited after watching your review and recently bought a 4U with Exbolt 65 at 27lbs.
    However after playing a couple of sessions, I still struggle to really put the power down and when I smash, the shuttle flies quite flat rather than a sharp angle, I feel like maybe I missed time a lot by hitting the upper part of the racquet?
    But I have been using my old ArcSaber Z Slash and heavy smash wasn't a problem at all. It's 3U and I feel like even more head heavy than the 88D Pro.

Now im just playing double, rarely for playing single. I want your recommend for me. I just watching review abt 2 product and i was played with astrox 99 2nd gen (blue gold seraphine) and i was liked it, so if you have a time, please reply this comment. Im very need your recommendation.

      Hey Ron, a bit tricky to comment on durability here because we haven’t had any experience with how long it will last (as it is so new!). But in general, ruling out any big racket clashes or hitting the ground, 28lbs shouldn’t be an issue in our experience with other rackets. Jeff and I have a clear favourite between the two rackets overall, which you'll note in our reviews 😊 I agree with Hyo Rim in saying that the 88S Pro is faster at the front court but I'll also offer a different point of view that the 88D Pro is not exactly slow and you can keep up with fast exchanges too (talking about the 4U here) if you're inherently a fast player. We felt that the 88D Pro provided higher shot quality and that the 88S Pro was almost like an incomplete racket. Hello
    I am a singles player who has a strong smash and rely on my pushes to deep court and smash to win points. I think I told you recently that I got an Astrox 77 4u version, but the main problem with it is that its too slow when it comes to quick reflexive drives and that is my usual weakness.
    Now I want to get a racket that will help meretain my good attack, good sweetspot and forgiveness, and also is not an absolute sledgehammer like the 99 or Z force 2.
    My main verdicts are (in order): Astrox 88d pro, Astrox100 zz, Astrox 88spro
    All 4ug5
    1) Astrox 88d pro: As it has a larger sweetspot and is not extra stiff like the OG 88d and has lumsome amount of power and is also very quick compared to the OG88 or OG99. People also say it is faster than the 100zz.
    2)Astrox 100zz: It has a really nice lovely design and ik its not relevant to buy a racket on this basis. Good power and control ig?
    3) 88spro: Less head heavier than the dpro but I think will lack power than the dpro.
    Please suggest which of the above you think will suit me the best.
    Thanks

      You sure do your homework. And you know what you want to do I guess. You know your style of play and you know the rackets specs.
      Strongly suggest you use it real time in 1 or 2 game. Buy based on specs won’t be enough without proper strings and tension you desired.
      I own both 100zz and 88D pro. If you are single player with hard smash and looking fast frame. The 100zz is the best choice IMO.
      As a double player with hard smash too, i found 88d pro is lacking power for me in 4U.

    Which has more power the astrox 99 or the 88D Pro?

    • @Volantbadminton
      @Volantbadminton  3 роки тому +1

      Tricky one! They’re a bit different in how we think they produce power.
      The 99 overall feels much heavier, stiffer and has a harder feeling. It also feels very head heavy (which it is!). Because of this, the amount of power you can get is... a lot! If we were to make up a term here, we’d call it “brute power”.
      On the other hand, the 88D Pro is still very powerful but has a more flexible/elastic feel to it. It doesn’t feel as heavy overall and when you swing it, it doesn’t feel as head heavy either (maybe due to the rotational generator system). So if we were to term the kind of power you get from it, in comparison to “brute power”, it feels more like “elastic power” because there more “whip” of the racket rather than just swinging a heavy axe.
      So in conclusion, 99 probably has more power overall. But the 88D Pro has a different kind of power and by all means, is definitely still very powerful.
      Do you like stiff or more flexible rackets? Hard feeling or soft feeling? I think these things will determine which is better for you.
      Also feel free to check out the Volant Rogue S1 😉

      @@Volantbadminton Thank you so much for the reply! Over all I think I want to try out the Astrox 88D pro since I prefer head heavy rackets and possibly be potential replacement for my astrox 99 but I am also considering trying out the astrox 100zz for a go since I like the light feeling it gives and the control it can generate. I myself personally like stiff hard feeling rackets and I dont know what to pick Astrox 100zz or Astrox 88D Pro
      Any recommendations?

      @Volantbadminton  3 роки тому +1

      @@delta4783 the 88D pro will feel less stiff than the 100ZZ and probably more forgiving. Definitely have a hit with both before you make your decision. If it were us, we prefer the 88D Pro but racket selection is such a subjective thing with differing personal preferences! Good luck 😀

      Thanks for the feedback! Our highest rating is for the NF800 (if we include aesthetics). Aesthetics does affect the ratings of some of the rackets we rate very highly for playability.
