    I think Scott made a new monster that alligns with the current fears of our time. To me, after watching the movie, I feel that David is the true monster that does not work in scaring us through how it looks or how gory it kills, it terrifies us by showing us David's ideology and kinda put it in a way to let us humans know that perhaps we can never truly be prepared to create an immortal sentient artificially intelligent being from our image and not have it act out the way it did in the movie because that might have been how we would have behaved as well were we to be immortal.

    Did no one else pick up on Shaw not being able to have kids in Prometheus? I think it's significant that David professed love for her and maybe wanted to make her the mother figure for his new creations. This would tie up his creation obsession while also accounting for why he did this to her. It clearly pains him but he may have seen it as a gift to her.

      David may have, in some twisted way, seen it as the only way to pay her back for her compassion towards him. In the absence of Shaw being able to create, he made her the Progenitor of the perfect species. The presence of her female DNA being the key which gives rise to the Queen and her ability to produce eggs.

      Stuart Fowler right she was not able to have children but yet she gave birth by cesarean section to an alien "baby" *on Christmas*! And in the alien ship in Prometheus in the carvings of the wall of the room with the big head they show a Xenomorph posed crucifixion Style. If you remember the character of Shaw was very religious so basically in this story she would be the Mary figure.

    I enjoyed the film personally. As far as the "why are the aliens not scary" part. It's 2017 do you know how hard it is to make any creature scary? Especially one that you've watched for years? We all know what the xenomorph looks like so they don't have to hide it etc.. I would much rather have substance in the film then be "scared".

    • @scaler26

      StarScreamTVLive I actually found the Neomorph terrifying. Like when it was just standing behind Rosenthal before ripping off her head. It gave me chills. The fact you couldn't see its mouth when it's closed also gives a really creepy feel to it, like it had no face. Now that I think about it, the neomorph kind of reminds me of the Slenderman, which haunted my dreams back in 2010 when I was 11 or so.

    • @Jmw357

      That Xenomorph running after them as they're running towards the lift was beautiful, it reminded me of a leopard the way it moved. I liked how they played with our expectation. Like Oram looking at the egg. We knew what was going to happen and it made me personally cringe.

    For me I figured David using Shaw as his first experiment was like an honor in his eyes. To give her a chance to be this next level creature. In his twisted views this was a gift to Shaw . Idk to me he's the futuristic version of a mad scientist really .

    To be honest, one of the reasons the xenomorphs didn't feel scary was because they were never something that the characters didn't overcome easily. There was always a quick solution and it felt that the characters were always in control of the situation (something that never happened in the originals) every plan worked, in the originals the initial plans usually failed.
    The protomorph on the lander as they try to escape was dealt with really quickly and the second one... well to be honest, the second one wasn't even really a threat. They constantly had knowledge of EXACTLY where it was and had complete control of where it could go.
    One of the reasons why the xenomorph was scary in Alien and Aliens is because you didn't know where it was, it could pop out anywhere. Even in Aliens where they had the scanners they had a small blip every couple of seconds and that was the only way they could try and guess where they were (which in itself was a horror tactic). I honestly think we shouldn't hold Ridley Scott in such high esteem and think any and every blunder he makes is just a creative decision.
    I really hope that in the sequel to Covenant he turns the lights off and gives the characters less control. I was really hoping that David wouldn't have told them where the Alien was and would just have let his creation do its thing.

    Just didn't understand why no member of the crew commented or even seemed surprised to come across an alien civilization (the engineers) with structures remains etc... they never even gave the corpses a second look!!! considering they wouldn't have known about Prometheus they would never have seen any type of alien before!! it would have been so easy to fix also a few extra lines with some surprised expressions would have done it.

      Brett Edgley Yeah I never understood how they just casually explore the crashed alien spaceship and then camp out in the ruins of an alien city and no one seems to care. Its like this is an everyday thing for them.

  • @Xenosaurian

    Correction; The film did not reveal that the Xenomorph is "a result of the combination with the black goo and human DNA" and this was further expanded upon in the novelization where it was revealed that Xenomorphs were created by the Engineers before David came along and all that David really did was using the black goo and pre-existing Xenomorphs left behind by the Engineers to create his own variations of the beasts (Xenomorphs has existed for millennia after all considering what we've seen for example in the film Alien vs. Predator).

  • @DJSkandalous

    plot twist, those are not the engineers in the movie but another peaceful like species they created. They don't look the same and they are not as technologically advanced. Red flags right there. This was most likely a species held in higher regard by the engineers due to their peaceful way where as Humans were violent

    • @OohzyJohnDow
      @OohzyJohnDow 7 років тому +1

      That is a thought indeed. When I was watching the movie i couldnt help but feel that these were not "the engineers" they came across as simpler, empty minded.. they were somehow in a state of worship towards the arriving ship. As well i was missing the rest of this planet having more population and cities etc. Instead this arena of worshipping engineer looking creatures seems to be the only development on that planet and that doesnt make sense for a "home planet" of the starfaring species as the engineers. I got the feeling that it might have been another testing site, perhaps a prison colony (and the inmates were anticipating release of food or to be taken away?).. but as you said it could indeed be another creation by the engineers that turned out looking more like them. These semi engineers seemed smaller as well? Another thing that i couldnt let go is that clearly the location has engineer exo suits.. yet NONE managed to wear one or get into one when the vases were released by david? etc. I have the feeling the next film will show that it was indeed NOT the engineers home world but a "pit stop" location for David to touch down and create his perfect creations. Which turned out not so perfect and now he has a ship full of embryo's and colonists to continue on while heading to or still in search for the engineers home world?

    • @MrZayne8
      @MrZayne8 6 років тому

      I have been curious about this possibility too.
      It made sense until the Advent video was released in the Blu Ray special features. In the video David refers to the planet as a "rotting paradise" and also alludes to the people being Engineers in ways. At one point he says that "there was so much potential on this world. Wasted by Gods that feared their own might.".....seeming to suggest it was an Engineer home world.
      Its a little perplexing. Perhaps by "rotting paradise" he is suggesting that the once great race has actually de-volved.
      The albino Engineers in Prometheus are clearly significantly different physically.
      There is a theory that the albino Engineers are actually organic AI's created by the more humanlike Engineers on Planet 4 millions of years ago through sophisticated cloning, DNA editing and genetic manipulation experiments. And that the AI Engineers took over, advancing Engineer technology exponentially. Even eventually becoming their Gods.

    But can you explain why the captain who has absolutely no reason to trust David and any human who has a standard IQ wouldn't trust him just goes ahead and places his face into an egg because David said it's ok?

    • @killdefcon1904
      @killdefcon1904 7 років тому +4

      Yea and that he went from threatening to kill David to completely trusting him. AND Walter knew about the defective David model so its safe to say he did too.

      Curiosity killed the cat, well in this case Oram. We knew, he didn't.

    • @RamenSploosh
      @RamenSploosh 7 років тому +1

      Anthony Sanchez he was intimidated and felt trapped when he was around David, esspevially since immedaitly before that scene he killed an alien and his fruend died. fear, and anger can make people pretty compliant, "fight or flight" kinda thing

    • @sadeva6532
      @sadeva6532 7 років тому +3

      Additionally, Oram wasn't really captain material. It was obvious that he was overwhelmed by not only the position but by the havoc his decision has caused. Daniels has more Captain chops than he has, she actually takes over command in a few scenes before they bump into David. I think everyone knew that he was not really fit to be captain (he obviously doesn't have any respect from his crew and as said Daniels takes over more than once). There is also a certain naivete about him. Plus, he has learnt to trust Walter and as they look exactly alike, he may have projected that feeling of trust that he has towards Walter onto David as well. Couple that with curiosity = death by facehugger.

    Those weren't the engineers. They were the life forms the engineer created when he sacrificed himself. Remember, he did not sacrifice himself on Earth. As well, engineers are giants, the race he wiped out were not giants. You even saw one of the humanoids growl at the ring ship. They were in awe of the ship so they couldn't have been engineers. They were primitive versions of the engineers. David saw them as imperfect so he destroyed them to make way for his own perfect creation.

    • @chrisetheredge6265

      My thoughts exactly! These beings seemed to still worship the Engineers as the cheering could be heard when the juggernaught was docking. I think the Engineers liked this version of seeded humanoids because they still worshipped them and did NOT like 'us', the EARTH version as we stopped worshipping them and worshipped other things.

      I don't disagree that this could be the case but... they looked similar to the engineers and Shaw believed this to be their home planet. We've only ever seen a handful of engineers and don't know what their society is like, or what their heirarchy is. It could very well be that the jacked godlike looking engineers are just the best of their species.... the film didn't communicate this scene very well so.. we don't know.

    Let me preface my comment with: I am a huge fan of the alien franchise. I went into Covenant just hoping for more answers about what we learned from Prometheus. I initially left Covenant disappointed with a few questions answered and a bunch of new questions that were unanswered. At first I was annoyed. But after watching the movie a second time in theaters and piecing everything together I think the movie was brilliant. While I know everyone has their own opinions and theories about these "unanswered" questions I have to say that this video includes the single most comprehensive and well-thought out theory and plot explanation that I've seen thus far post-release! This is what I love about Ridley Scott movies. I am so entertained long after the movie itself because I'm busy racking my brain with all these theories and putting it all together. What an incredible story universe that goes far beyond just standard jump-scare horror. Here's to the next 2 movies in the Prometheus Quadrilogy! It's gonna be a hell of a ride making it to Alien 1.

    my big issue and hole with the film was the importance on the Nail, her using the nail while fighting David, then the complete lack of a hole for multiple glimpses of "Walter" before realizing it's David. If it was so important to use that nail in other sequences, shouldn't have that hole still been under his chin and the reason she realizes it's David, not Walter? Sure it may seem like a little plot hole, but it's actually quite magnified with how they highlighted it earlier on and the way the film ended.

    An important line that has been mostly left out of everyone's commentary is where David, pleading with Walter, sees his mission in life to eradicate the human race, where he tells Walter that they (humans) must be stopped (regarding the colonization). David has contempt for humans, and this may be why he chose to sacrifice Shaw. I think Covenant did a great job of sewing up the loose ends of Prometheus and laying a course for the next film. We're not quite back to LV426 yet...but we're heading in the right direction...

    I have a question, why did the Engineers not return to LV-223 after the incident 2000 years prior? In Prometheus, they dated the dead Engineers back to that time. Even if there was an outbreak or an attack on the complex, surely other Engineers would have checked back in shortly after. Perhaps there is more than one faction of their race and maybe the faction that wanted to destroy life on Earth was in the minority and it was thought that they were all killed in the incident. Or is it possible that the entire race of the Engineers was wiped out? I was so let down that Covenant didn't really address any of that.

    Ridley would know that even if he were told to kill off the engineer storyline, it would be more effective to leave their story open ended and use this mystique, as this is the x variable to all sci-fi / horror films. He would not kill off the engineers for good simply because the producers thought they were stupid, he would simply turn the camera away from them and keep us guessing. That sentiment is much more profitable. So, the engineers aren't dead.

Maybe on the top of it his note about kindness should be transformed into his creation in some kind of meaning. Inter speciesly or in some sort of relationship against him. Who knows how he desire to manage his observations and improve them, but obviously he was proud of small one, and they multiply by sexual rape and go out from chest/heart like love do, born from pure love 😍 love of robot to only one among all man kind. At the end of the day you have alien with head like dick from side and is biomechanoid and gives kisses of death. Very psychological and what more some sort of oidipus complex kill the father and f12k the mother or more or less kill them all. 😁

    The belief that seeing less of something retains the horror may be true , as the 1979 movie served that purpose as nobody , at that time, knew what to expect, however, anything beyond that afterwards would naturally have to evolve into a suspense and explore further by evolving the idea of a phenomenon that is alien and beyond human understanding.

    I don't understand why this movie got such a lukewarm reception from critics? I think when you put the story in to context of the first 3 films you will clearly realize that Mr Scott has finally found his footing after the few slips he took with Prometheus. Brilliantly acted, beautifully shot, imaginative score, CGI felt so real and tactical and finally he left us with more interesting questions than the films predecessor. The dialogue was always engaging even with the cannon fodder characters who were just there for the scares. Which comes to my only gripe with the film. The movie wasn't scary enough. I wasn't terrified of what I saw, I never had a moment when I had to look away because I couldn't take the tension of the scene. That is what makes Alien the superior of all the films in the franchise. Nevertheless when people view this film in a few years and view it as a piece of a larger story, including it's hopeful sequel, they will be shown to be wrong, just as they were wrong when they saw Blade Runner in 1982. A cult classic is born from one of the worlds most under appreciated directors. Give the man an oscar already and while your at it give one to Michael Fassbender too, he was mesmerizing.

    Solid review.
    I do prefer the theory that the beings David annihilated on Planet 4 were in fact another race seeded by Engineers. A *favored* race that has some Engineer technology at the center of their more primitive culture. However, in the Advent video (released after you made this review last year) David says that he & Shaw found a "rotting paradise" without specifying what he meant by that exactly. He goes on to talk about that world as if it is in fact their homeworld. At one point he says "there was *so* much potential on this world. Wasted by Gods who feared their own might." In earlier script the city was explored some and a massive orerry statue was discovered that resembled the pilots chair in the Juggernauts. Suggesting that the producers intended those people to be Engineers and for the orerry to be a nostalgic look back to their advances in intergalactic travel ages ago, as the Engineers are also said to have been space faring for a billion years. However, they cut that out.
    The humanoids do appear to be rushing out to greet the Juggernaut in the thousands. Cheering. This could be for a number of reasons. If they are a seeded race and only see the Engineers once every several years they probably anticipate their visitations with excitement as the biggest event in their world when the time comes. This would explain their shock to see the hatch open and the urns deploy, but, there were contingencies in place on that world for such a happening. Most of which were cut out of filming. For one, the planet had two satellites that projected an energy shield over the planet. This is what caused communication issues but more importantly when you see the deployed pathogen stop in mid air as if hitting an invisible barrier.......it is hitting the shield. It eventually bursts through and rains down below. The first few times I watched Covenant I thought the pathogen was programmed to form a cloud the way that it did, but the shield bits were simply cut. from the film. In the novel people below activated a device that perminantly disabled all ships on the planet to shut down the possibility of the pathogen spreading off-world. This would explain the crashed Juggernaut and the crashed Mother Juggernaut docking ship, whos purpose was not revealed.
    Anyway, since Ridley Scott has steered the storyline along "AI" lines, it is possible that although the humanoids on planet might have been intended to be a seeded race at some point, details surrounding their identity might have been skewed in order to introduce a new plot twist. They could actually be the *original* Engineers. A more human like race that actually *created* the albino Engineers seen in Prometheus from sophisticated cloning, DNA editing and genetic engineering experiments developed millions of years ago, but perfected by the creations themselves. Making them highly advanced versions of David. Living, breathing, organic AI's gifted with the genius of their creators and then some, plus superior genetic makeup. So essentially, The Engineers created the AI Engineers in their own image and not only did the AI Engineers surpass their creators.....they became their Gods. Not too dissimilar to what has been happening with David. In fact if this storyline holds, I think David wept before deploying the pathogen because he was feeling the gravity of the occasion. He was looking down upon a long-lived race. Billions of years old. Pioneers in bio-engineering and intergalactic travel. A race he was about to destroy in order to start anew. The creation of their creation returns to destroy them with their own pathogen.
    Now we may see David heading not to Oregae-6, but to the Gigeresque AI Engineer home world in his ship of horrors. Breeding Xenomorphs along the way to unleash on their world and end them as well. Before setting course for Earth.
    One theory anyway....

    The big plothole for me is the alien queen mural in that goo storage place in Prometheus. If David is the creator of a xenomorph, then how come the alien queen was already known to engineers? I think in Prometheus Ridley Scott had another idea behind alien's origin.

      From what we've seen, the most we can go off of is this:
      1.The engineers certainly had a bio weapon, as theorized in Prometheus and proven in Covenant.
      2.The black goo bio weapon is specifically geared towards combining Xenomorph DNA with it's environment or host, as suggested by the obvious xeno-like worms, etc.. in Prometheus. The mural is the basic DNA foundation, more reminiscent of the Decon than the final Xenomorph.
      3. In every film there is the theme of creation and control. Alien through Alien 4 there is the continuous subplot of weaponizing the Xenomorph.
      It is quite possible that these new films aren't necessarily xenomorph 'origin' stories but rather a larger continuation of the questions of creation and control. The engineers clearly were astute to the xenomorph far before David. It's more likely they, or a similar engineer species, were either attempting to perfect the perfect bio weapon/monster, or possible just copying organic xeno DNA and weaponizing it themselves.
      It seems like that Sir Ridley is going on the story arc that we are all (humans, engineers, androids) sort of part of this creation/control metaphor and the Xenomorph will be the final, ironic result. This would be a cool concept if they could do something with it. Every film idea under the sun is stupid unless you make it good. However, it seems people wanted the organic, mysterious Xenomorph story rather than a stupid comic book style origin story. Time will tell. Either way, I hope Ridley has a better, crashing conclusion for his last Alien film. Otherwise the Alien franchise is going to sizzle into nothing and this will be quite disappointing...

    • @CensuradaPorBoleta
      @CensuradaPorBoleta 7 років тому

      Absolutely great breakdown! It makes sense to think that maybe, if the Engineers HAD the black goo, they were weaponizing it, they would have possibly, accidentally (or purposely) created a Decon/Xeno type of creature, hence the mural.

    Alien Covenant is the case being made for hierarchy that doesn't need equality to be proven as moral which is the replication of the original absence of the original state of reality. 1979 Alien was the mistake of a metaphor believing in itself, and now Alien Covenant is the rectification of that mistake, symbolised by David. David's a villain because he opposes hierarchy by replicating hierarchy, yet the philosophical depth of the story is that replicating hierarchy as a way to oppose hierarchy was always necessary. Lastly, Alien Covenant is an allegory of the need to replicate freedom from anti. Original freedom was the mistake of self-awareness, freedom from anti was the mistake of replicated absence, and so the solution is the third state of replicating freedom from anti

    Did you ever consider that the Engineers are regressing as a society? Start of Prometheus: ship the size of a city. During Prometheus: much smaller ships with missing body paneling and holographic imaging that appears to be somewhat on the blink. Covenant: I think of that world as a colony world of their main society, sort of in an "old West" state. They react like YAYYY when they see the ship... possibly because their supply lines are stretched just THAT thin as a culture and they almost never get a ship coming to resupply them? Remember David's comments about the humans... "they're dying... they're going extinct... that's why they want to colonize... well I won't let them". The humans are creators. The Engineers are creators. I don't think it's a "different faction" anything. I think a million years ago the Engineers did it because they could and because they were at the stage where they'd just passed the apex of their technological abilities, and they had just began to sense their own decline, much as how the humans are at a stage of creating life and just beginning their decline. Further supporting this: they used black goo to seed all life on Earth. Now? It's volatile, it makes monstrosities, and most importantly those monstrosities are never consistent. They're always kind of random. This isn't to give the movie creature designers something to do, it's on purpose. Add to that their own base gets wiped out by their own black goo. It's almost like they don't understand how to make it work right anymore. Which goes along with the decline theory. Like you could picture a society 100 years from now that couldn't make a nuclear power plant to save their lives, but they can stuff the shit in a bomb casing.

    So Davids plan was to hide facehugger egg/ebryos in throat, kill (disable) Walter, then get on the ship with Daniels and Tenn in order to use them as hosts for the 2 facehuggers? All the while he had to help them kill the Xeno which he is so fond of?
    He could have just used the Xeno to capture (cocoon) Daniels and Tenn and then take the ship back to the planet where he had more eggs to impregnate daniels and tenn. Keeping the Xeno alive of course.
    Im also not sold that those left on the Covenant couldnt have told the difference between David and Walter.

    Great video! But one questions still stays with me. So in prometheus they find the ship, it had these vases with the snake like facehuggers (I guess the first generation facehuggers) through which the 'first' xenomorph was shown at the end.
    David and Shaw fly away to the planet we see on Alien Covenant. David perfected these facehuggers and xenomorphs as explained in the movie. Now he flies away on the covenant to colonise a new planet.
    Yet in Alien 1 Ripley and her crew finds an engineers ship full of eggs with the facehuggers David designed which creates an xenomorph David also created. So, how did they get on the engineers ship all the way on another planet?

    What I simply don't understand in Alien: Covenant is as to why no one who was exploring the planet actually had any protective gear on. I know it's redundant in the end because either way, David would find them and convince them to take off their gear anyway but that would have added to David's character and the story in my opinion.
    The excuse of them having read the planet thoroughly doesn't fit with any sense when immediately after Daniels and the crew land, they realize that theirs no life and that there is wheat. if they didn't even take a clear read of the vegetation and animals on that planet, they obviously didn't read any microbiological life forms either. So why don't they have gear? That made me really ponder while watching the movie.

    Can't remember which which discussion video it was. But someone highlighted that the plant spores were a more efficient way of infecting people with xenomorphs. This is true, however it is very sedentary and requires someone to disturb the plants. If people realize this then they will just eradicate those plants. I think perhaps David thought about this so he therefore created the xenomorph egg which would be more resilient than the plant, in addition it would create the xenomorph David wanted and actively seek out a host, which might explain the aggression. In all I think it was a case of controlling the path of creation for David's xenomorph.

    So David's now manning the ship. Why did he send out a transmission as Walter saying everyone died but Tennessee and Daniels? And why only keep Daniels and Ten alive? Also, the ending scene basically tells how there is a species of Aliens right? All because of David regurgitating the Alien embryos and putting them by the human embryos (which will create a whole population of them) ? And one more thing. Could Tennessee be Dennis from Alien? I never watched alien but looked at the characters and one was Dennis. I could of swore someone in Covenant called Tennessee by his real name which was Dennis or I could have just misheard, but could Dennis become Tennessee in the upcoming movies? THANK YOU!!! Lol All i'm seeing on UA-cam is people not understanding the movie. You summed it up perfectly. I got a couple ideas on the movie too. David God Complex is obvious but another reason he why he killed the Engineers is they did kill basically his father Dr. Weyland, tried to kill him Shaw and they where planning on kill humans. He basically killed a species to save a species while trying to make the perfect species. In Davids eyes he could look at himself like a hero. Now thats a God Complex lol. I dont think he killed Shaw or if he did it was mercy. Theres alot of things that could of happened. For one they where on a Engineer ship so there was probably not that much food or water for her to survive for months let alone years. I know they have cryo sleep but i doubt Engineers and Humans have the same exact tech when it comes to that. Maybe when he did wake her she was already dying.To honor her he used her body to help create his new species using her DNA.

    I think its a bio weapons test done on Earth that went wrong and created humans as a bi product (Prometheus). Engineers didn't want humans because they would eventually become competitors. The answer was to kill humans. Shaw went to paradise and was killed by engineers when she found out why. The human race was an accident. The arrival scene where David bombs the engineers, wasn't an arrival scene. It was a revenge scene. (Covenant). I love these 2 movies. Having no answers gives you the opportunity to fill in the blanks with your imagination. This summary is just my imagination.

    I thought Covenant had the right amount of tension. Despite having the idea of what to expect in those scenes with the alien, the tension was still there. It's like Alien Isolation with the xenomorph right there in front of you and you're looking right at the thing. It may not see you, but you see it clearly while having to not get caught by it. Different medium, but hey. My biggest gripe though was the ending. I loved the movie all the way up until the end where they launched it out in to space yet again. Though my heart broke seeing Daniels realize that it was David and not Walter. Still enjoyed the movie. The tension was there and the first scene with the neomorph bursting out the guy's back was terrifying to watch. Or maybe I'm just easy to please and can find the charm in this and Prometheus.

    David knew they were not the engineers but just a colony of. He bombed them as an experiment.
    The engineers wanted to kill Humanity because we developed tech that can equal the engineers, thus threatening them. The eng. colony was living simple with tech given to them for specific purpose.

    Your correct on that not being an engineer planet. If it were, there would have been some sort of other ship David could have left in or even a lab for him to work in instead of a dam cave. lol.

    The Xenomorphs weren't scary in this film? I strongly disagree.

    i haven't read the novelization. does it answer any questions? the premise of the two movies was very good, but having to explain so much after the movies were released , in absence of deleted scenes, leads to a great deal of confusion.

    I feel like part of the reason the Xenomorphs weren't as scary was because they were created entirely with CGI this time around, and the CGI wasn't all the good either. I was overall let down by this film, but I can't put my finger on exactly the reason why and it's bugging the hell out of me (other than my disappointment in the CGI). I was also disappointed that there wasn't any kind of "King Alien" like there was a queen in Aliens, or some other type of final confrontation with a larger breed type. Just a Xenomorph and the unevolved version of it. And I don't care what anyone says, I loved Elizabeth Shaw, Noomi Rapace' acting was great in Prometheus and I hated that she simply died off screen, and that there was absolutely no closure with her character and the Engineers, meanwhile we had a cast of disposable, one dimensional bags of meat for the Aliens to breed with (or kill) instead of anyone interesting, and Danny Mcbride's character was just flat out annoying. Ok, so maybe I do know why I was disappointed in this film... lol.

      They use CGI because men in rubber suits cannot climb on walls and run on fours really fast idiot. The old Alien movies used practical effects because technology wasn't advanced at that time so they couldn't use CGI thus the Aliens in those movies were slow. Because Alien Covenant is a 2017 film and CGI has improved, the CGI Aliens move way faster than men in rubber suits. Plus, you should be used to movies using CGI by now. I hope this makes things clear.

    I really hope people don't just hate this movie like they hated Prometheus, because they couldn't understand it. neither Prometheus or Covenant are all that confusing. yeah there are some questions, but they will get answered eventually like the ones from Prometheus did. don't hate the movie because it doesn't answer all the questions right away

    I just want to know how they are going to explain the xenomorph art on the wall in Prometheus.
