I can’t get over the fact that you poured water from one container to another just to pour it into your vessels 😂😂 that really tickled me because I do the same lol
I enjoyed seeing your new plants, thanks very much for the updates. the large Anthurium is particularly beautiful in my opinion. Tomorrow I am purchasing a Black Coral Sensevieria to add to my collection, I like the plant and we have the perfect space for it. Thanks again.
I need to me more patient with my transfers. I usually stick them directly in leca and the younglings always suffer. I want to get some exports in the spring.
I just received a Monstera Albo import. I had it in water for two days and put it into perlite today. But I put it in a cup with holes in the bottom and then in a little water reservoir. Would it be better to put it in vessel without drainage?
Why not cut the brown leaves off? They aren't benefitting the plant at all. They aren't going to looked better and they rob nutrients from the rest of the plant. Just a thought. I've grown plants for 50 years. I've noticed the modern hobbyist think they still benefit the plant. They don't. Love love 😍 your plants, cats and videos. PS I see you cut them off. 😊
Merry Christmas! Thank you for the plant import updates! I just got my Aglaonema in the mail this past Thursday. My plants came perfectly with nice roots. Going to pot them up tomorrow. Hope you’ll take the time to watch my unboxing on my page 😀🙏
aw it's definitely scary when you haven't had one before. My biggest advice is to check for pests and isolate them - I've had a couple with pests like scale and mealies and thrips damage 😅
How Nice they look now ❤ like the monstra and the small anthurium very much! Too bad the varigated micans reverted.. I really hope you manage to get more varigation from the cuttings 🤞🤞 Where did you get the selfwatering pots? Didn't find them on your Amazon 🤔
Thank you! I am hoping they grow in some beautiful leaves! I can link my pon section here it has all the self watering pots I use: www.amazon.com/shop/plantsbymelissa/list/3DGT1T05R3EUS?tag=onamzmeli0992-20&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d
Hi Melissa! planty question for you, how long would you recommend keeping baby alocasia polly under a domed nursery pot? it's my first time growing them and I'm not sure how long to keep them under there, 2 have sprouted leaves now!
I’ve been searching for Pon or an alternative here in North America (Canada specifically) and can’t find any nearby, sure from Germany on Etsy, the Lechuza website is always sold out. Soil ninja doesn’t ship here, I wanna try it so bad but where th do I get some?
I think there is one called "Crystal Star Nurseries" in ON but it looks like their site is on a break right now. I’ve seen the UA-camr "WildFern" (she’s in BC) talks about it…
Thank you! I can link my pon section here for you www.amazon.com/shop/plantsbymelissa/list/3DGT1T05R3EUS?tag=onamzmeli0992-20&ref_=aip_sf_list_spv_ofs_mixed_d
I love your videos! I feel like we are kinda on the same path with our plant collections and preferences. I've commented before but I don't know if you've seen that I highly recommend mixing in perlite or pumice in with your stratum. It promotes more aeration and stretches out the amount of rooting substrate you have on hand. I've had better results mixing in perlite, pumice, or even Pon if I really want a cutting to do well. I try not to use Pon because it's more expensive than perlite or pumice.
Thank you! I need to try it again mixing in perlite or I’ll get some pumice. When I tried it before I got a lot of molding that happened so not sure what happened.
Google "Lechuza Pon Substrate." It is instead of soil (looks kind of like gravel) and you use it in self-watering pots. LeafyDiva here on UA-cam has a lot of info I found helpful when first getting into it.
So beautiful the variegated Peru hope to own one someday. I have the regular green one and i love it. Is the only vining plant i have as i love the compact growth not leggy like the other vine plants. I love the cats keeping you company while you do plant chores. Even though the table isn’t the best comfort spot compared to a soft area like couch, there beds and hammock. I see some cat’s parents stick some of those hammock on the windows for them to look out and the sun.
They kept getting up in my window last winter in here and knocked plants over lol so I keep them out of my plant room unless I am in here. Chai can get sorta nosey and nibble plants too. They would love the window hammock for sure! They have access to the patio most days and they love it!
I love that all your imports are doing okay. I always enjoy your videos, and it's always a pleasurabe bonus seeing the cat's too, but seeing two cats in one video is a real treat... I love your kitties, they are the cutest ❤️
Hoping they all thrive Melissa. Thanks to you I got some of my plants chores done too! Absolutely love your variegated Monstera Peru so will enjoy seeing how it grows! Am really loving my PON too...my alcoasia love it and now you've given me the idea to transfer my anthurium to pon as well. Can't wait to see an update on all your imports. I quite the large anthurium (Jemanii). We have the regular ones here occasionally so it was interesting to see your variegated one. Stay well Melissa and looking forward to your next video (hoing it's a long one 🤭🥰
So glad they are all doing well! I have faith in you to make them even more beautiful! I’ve heard that using microfiber cloth cut into strips as a wick is much better than wicking string because it won’t rot apparently?!
Doing my plant chores right there with you. A plant parents work is never done.
Yes! 😂 always stuff to do! Thanks for taking me along with you!
I would like to do the same but due to my country's policies they don't let me import plants 😢. I loved the video ❤
I'm the same no imports allowed
Where do you live?
Here in my country it's really hard to import plants, but not impossible
I can’t get over the fact that you poured water from one container to another just to pour it into your vessels 😂😂 that really tickled me because I do the same lol

I love anthurium roots! They're so juicy 🤤😅😍
Yess! Chonky roots are so fun 😂🫶🏻
What’s the variegated strappy anthurium again please?
I hope your micans aurea sure grows new aurea leaves. They should be pretty.

ou god how some can be that beautiful
Awesome progress; can’t wait for updates. Thanks for sharing Melissa!

Thanks for the videos and the lists. Super helpful. Awaiting my first import tomorrow and I've been binging youtube .Nervous

I bought my first wet stick, philodendron gabby, hopefully she makes it.
congrats!! Wishing you the best of luck with propagating it! It's a beautiful philo!

I would adjust them slowly to your RH so they don't shock. Alocasias love humidity but they don't absolutely need it.
the lil cat butt included in the potting process is just so cute 😹
I think Luna is going to join me in this spot when I’m in here now with that sun coming in 🥰
Good morning

I would sign up for email notifications on their website. It comes back in stock often. US amazon has some for sale but I'm not sure about Canada 😊

I LOVE your varigated monstera peru!! ITS SO GORGEOUSSS!!
Also do you keep the pon in water or do you just water the pon?
What is the name of the white self watering pot with a meter that you use. I love the style!

I just love your plants! Can't wait for more videos!!
Thank you so much! 💗
Do all imports rot off their roots?
There’s a good chance a lot of the root system will shock but not always. This is my 3rd import now and some plants do better than others!
💚💚💚 Overall, that looked like a very successful import of plants! 💚💚💚
I think so too! Very happy with them all and how they did!
The monstera is really beautiful 😍
The color is really pretty! 🤩
What is Pon please

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
ThankYou for sharing Melissa. Let us know if they do well! Merry Christmas to you. ❤
Happy holidays!
So beautiful 💚
My Alocasia Frydek was lost in the mail for over a week but still some how survived 🫣😅
I am in Michigan and over this past weekend it was warmer and we could hear thunder south of us. I loved it. LOL
It's so odd hearing thunder in winter lol but I love listening to them!
Lovely video, you always do such a good job and make good decisions about whether to root prune or chop and prop x
Thank you so much!
Would love to see a video that includes hoyas
Hi I recently uploaded a video with some hoya repotting here ua-cam.com/video/o_ezbebkMtk/v-deo.htmlsi=dYi7X9pdhLCZb-Sl
So glad they are all doing well! I have faith in you to make them even more beautiful!
I’ve heard that using microfiber cloth cut into strips as a wick is much better than wicking string because it won’t rot apparently?!
oh interesting! I haven't heard that yet!
@@plantsbymelissa I learned it from Emma at “good growing”!
Wow your imports look so good! Great job 💚
Thank you! 😄
I want to watch but can’t listen to your voice for more than a couple minutes at a time time ugh.
Wow, that’s rude.
@@canadiyank 🤷♀️ it’s really hard to listen to her talk
