Lyrics:
I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hand
Walking through the streets of SoHo in the rain
He was looking for the place called Lee Ho Fook's
Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
If you hear him howling around your kitchen door
You better not let him in
Little old lady got mutilated late last night
Werewolves of London again
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo, hey
He's the hairy handed gent who ran amuck in Kent
Lately, he's been overheard in Mayfair
You better stay away from him
He'll rip your lungs out, Jim
Huh, I'd like to meet his tailor
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Ah-hoo
Well, I saw Lon Chaney walking with the Queen
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw Lon Chaney, Jr. walking with the Queen, uh
Doing the werewolves of London
I saw a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect
Na!
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London
Huh, draw blood
Ah-hoo, werewolves of London

Interesting fact - the song actually started out as a joke (between Warren and Phil Everly, of The Everly Brothers fame), but wound up being the biggest hit of Warren's career.
And a good thing it was.
“And his hair was perfect”
Legendary lyrics
Martin Scorsese knew this well (from The Color of Money).
'I saw a werewolf drinking a Pina colada at trader vix, his hair was perfect." Wild ass lyrics.
I'd like to meet his tailor !
Werewolves probably have great hair.
Det!
Haaa, IKR..that is my part!
Trader Vic's. It was a bar in the late 70s and early 80s.
“Little old lady got mutilated late last night” that is one of the best lines of lyric in all of rock music.
You should listen to some Nick Cave crazy songs than, you'll love it :D
i agree. it totally just pops into my head randomly at times
@@jacobring7274 Yep, somehow i just start singing to myself these lyrics and people look at me strange . Only a few know what song this is.
@@sammyhooligan803 idk why this comment made me laugh - legends like us who know this song are indeed rare!
👏👏👏
" I saw a werewolf with a Chinese menu in his hands"..... Lol That's a bad ass beginning of a song!
That menu seems to be needing a menu of grimores...
"He was lookin' for the place called Lee Ho Fookth"

Perfect song.
Although not quiet as badass as the beginning of Play It All Night Long! 😉

Every lyric in this song is quotable.
Lol
You mean like "He's the heavy-handed gent who ran amok in Kent, lately he's been overheard in Mayfaire. You better stay away from him, he'll rip your lungs out, Jim. Hah, I'd like to meet his tailor."
Correct lyrics: “He’s the hairy, hairy gent”’ not “heavy-handed”.
@@hebneh Appreciate the correction.
Still a great song in May 2024. Love it.👌
U no it!!
***AH-WOOOOOOOO*** ! An all time classic. they don't make music like this anymore!
indeed
no kidding

One of the absolute greatest songs of all-time, love the melody and the vibe. Beautiful!!
It's so amazingly oridnary except for the sense of humor. "GSOAT" really? seriously? lol seriously ass
@@isabelasuplicy2658 It sounds like YOU'RE amazingly ordinary if you don't feel that music and appreciate that atmosphere. Not all people have the sensory perception to recognize that level of coolness. Great job spelling by the way.
A favorite classic from 1978.🐺 Ahhoo!
his hair was perfect
Haven't heard this song in years...

Besides my brother and my boyfriend, they use to howl like a Wolf, when this song would come on! I use to get so pissed when they did that! I love this song. It's a real classic for many years. I haven't heard this song for a long time. ❤

He has an adorable mischief maker face.
He's so cute
The best song ever, it ticks all the boxes.

Why can't they make music like this any longer?Thank God for the classics.
They don't even use real instruments any more, at least in mainstream stuff
They do, on the left side of the dial
RAMEN!
At the end it sounds like to me he was going to sing ahwooo twice. Instead he sang ahwooo once and then werewolves of London. And then he said “wrong one”. You can kind of him laugh when he said it. Perfect beginning with the bass and drums. Perfect song. Heavy, heavy beat. This guy was a genius.
He says "draw blood."
He should have said, A who!
I've always wondered why he came in early on the last "Ah-whoooo!" By the way, what he says is "Draw blood!". Happy Halloween!
That bass is amazing
John McVie from Fleetwood Mac and Mick Fleetwood on drums.
@@gsorge6968 that's cool man I didn't know
I discovered this song 2020 at the age of 41. Thankfully yours...
same
I discovered this song in 2020 at the age of 11. You missed out on so many decades of this!
Me too….. 41
Damn.......where y’all been ??
Shit dude where you been? I remember hearing this in my mom's white Ford tempo on the radio when I was probably 7 or 8 years old. I'm just breaking balls man, it's better to have found it then to not find it all 🤘
That’s a great Halloween song.🎼🎤🎹🇬🇧
The colour of money what a film! Thanks for this.
The best "concert" I've ever been to was at Charlie Goodnights. Warren Zevon was playing. Mid nineties. Couldn't believe it. He was absolutely brilliant!!!
Why did you put “concert”’in quotations!? I’m sure it was amazing
His hair was perfect
One of my all-time favorite classic rock jams. It *never* gets old.
Greatest halloween playlist pick
Always. :)
I so hope Warren Zevon gets into the Rock Roll Hall of Fame this year he's nominated this year HE ABSOLUTELY BELONGS THERE!
completely shocked he's not been there for decades already
Not really he doesnt have many good songs
You are absolutely right but we all know the rock and roll hall of fame selection committee alot of times seems like they have there heads in the sand
But, them wolves howling around the kitchen door said better not let him in.
Warren Zevon has more credibility than the rock ‘n’ roll Hall of Fame. My two cents is that he doesn’t need it.
One of the best R'n'R Songs ever written. oh, and of course, his hair was perfect
Ironic this tune was released in 1978 then the movie in 1981. Loved both. Got both werewolves of London and Paris. Great flicks
I wouldn't have expected any less from a furry
Originally this song was supposed to be in the movie bust sadly they couldn't secure the rights to the song
@@GeneralKenobi69420 problem?

Actually there was a 1930s Hollywood film called “Werewolf of London”, which was the inspiration for this song. That’s the original.
Haven't heard this song in years...
I like how he does the howl and then back to lead vocal. I think most artists would have had the howl fading out as the lead began over it. Truly unique in that aspect.
I saw a werewolf drinkin' a piña colada at Trader Vic's
And his hair was perfect.
Preacher introduced me to this fun song over a year ago. Today, it made me smile when I heard it on Supernatural :D
Ngl i just found out kid rock used this for "all summer long"
So i decided to search the song cus i wanted to hear the original...as soon as i heard the "ah-hoooooo werewolves of london" so many memeries got unlocked!!! I had totally forgotten about this song and obviously never put 2 and 2 together🤣🤣🤣
I'm in my mid teen years I love this one it's been a favorite since my dad who grew up in the 60s and 70s introduced me to this kind of music when I was little I will always love classic rock for the rest of my life it's the only kind of music I like
I hope in 2023 will be inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
I love the guitar riffs in this track, using heavy distortion sound effects!!
‘I’d like to meet his tailor.’ Explains the situation.
Haven't heard this song in a few years. And yet, today it popped up in my mind today!
The only musician I saw (heard) in four different decades. Enough said...
Absolute genius of a song.
Was anyone else on edge at the end of ‘An American Werewolf in London’ EXPECTING this song to kick in during the closing credits & then also disappointed as hell when it didn’t happen 😤
I Was.
I was listening to this song thinking "I should really watch that movie they made of this" until I saw this comment
Yes!
I've always found it so weird it's never played in that film. Has there been an anymore obvious choice for a soundtrack ever. It had a good soundtrack regardless but it's still annoying this doesn't feature.
No. That ending is perfect.
One of the greatest albums of all time for sure.
One of my favorite songs from the 1970s. From 1978.
Warren at the Main Point, way back in the day. Seems like yesterday. Gonna get a big dish of beef chow mein...

Love this song and great singer!
Carmilla also Send lawyers guns and money.
I'm in London...no werewolves here...they are in quarantine...😉😰...I hope...
They should be! Isn't that werewolf law!?

Werewolves don’t quarantine 😉
So are their haidressers.
It is physically impossible not to howl along. So howl bros
