  • This video shows you how to turn a rock into a beautiful necklace! I make everything on this channel from rocks. I used a piece of travertine collected from one of my favorite rock hunting spot. The magnesium with in the calcite creates a dirty brown and bright red color that contrasts beautifully due to the growth texture of the rock. I hope you enjoy this simple jewelry making video. Maybe someone else mentioned it, but the milky substance comes from not giving the stones a proper cleaning. I normally do a cleaning cycle between each grit change and I don't let the stones dry at all until the final cleaning is done. . . Nice video though. . It gives me some good ideas.

I love natural stones and I love that the pendants you made didn't have any wire or metal around the stone. Awesome video.

I would like to hear some more commentary about what you are using and doing as well as the video. Very nice result on the rocks.

What did you use to keep the wire in the drill hole? Epoxy?

Would like to know more on your process and what you are doing. It would be a great help for those just getting started.

Nice rocks just wondering what the coating is and why? You should be able to tumble those to a really nice luster.

This particular rock is made of calcite so the hardness is really low. Polishing soft rocks is extremely difficult because the grit leaves too many scratches. I coated it with epoxy you would use to put on a countertop.

Can I ask about the machines that you use for it? Bcoz I am a stone collector I am planning to make it jewelry and else. Can you give an idea about what chemicals that mix?

Lots of fractures in the finished stones. Perhaps a review of Michigan Rocks' tumbling video might help that. Regards

It is a sonic bath to get rid of and of the polish left over in the final stage of tumbling.

@@naturalstones4529 cool, thanks! I run my stones through my tumbler with some Borax for a day between stages to clean the grit and polish.

I also run my rocks through a borax wash. Same parts as the grit. I only run mine for a day in the borax and use mineral water. Gives a great polished shine.
      Great work and video.
