Yup, and all it requires is some relatively minor work on your part - even with the upgrades in the description under the equipment used section, it's still cheaper than something like a FlexJet TV.
Yes but this still doesn’t beat the power to weight and flight time vs turbine. You can’t sit around hovering for minutes on end and actually gain performance like the turbines.
I fly mine without thrust vectoring and it's a great jet. I don't have stock power in it though and I fly with the cg back a bit thanks to my heavy motor. It's the fastest FW jet I own at 158mph on 7s
What a great video. Love that "scale" pronunciation of the Swedish Meat Haul. Ggree-i-pe-en 😊 awesome! Thanks for the honest POV. Those are usually in short supply here in YT'ville 👍
Hi, nice video!! One question, have you ever made a video showing how to correctly hold your fingers on the gimbal of the remote control? And I wanted to ask you if you have ever adjusted the tension of the gimbals, I have a nx8 Spektrum and I think that maybe by tightening them a little I can make more accurate movements... but I have to try... I ask you because I see that you are very good and precise in the maneuvers, thanks.
@@TwoBrosRC Yes, I understand, but I wanted to know how you hold your fingers on the gimbals because you are very good, certainly better than me.. 😉 for example today I tested holding the gimbals not on the tips with the fingertips but holding them with two fingers at the sides and I had the impression of giving a very precise and rational command without jerks, I just wanted to ask you if you also handle it in this way... thanks anyway for the answer.
Jon uses thumbs, but it's really all about finding what works for you. There are way better pilots than Jon who fly with pinched fingers and way better pilots who use thumbs.
2:56 Thats really cool to have 4 axis. I have never seen that in any of the knock-offs. I fly with Admiral 3axis gyro/dsmx receivers from Motion RC. Crazy simple to setup and they work well in wind. Although Ive never been able to toggle stability on/off from my controller, but it doesnt bother me.
I have this AR10360T on my gripen too, but the wing is rocking quite a bit on high wind. It scares the crap out of me, so now I put another gyro. I found it puzzling to understand spektrum gyro forward programming
Are you using AS3X+ yet? If not, upgrade to it and adjust the roll gain. Ours didn't need much gain at all, it was very stable regardless of what conditions we flew it in.
@@TwoBrosRC Yeah, I have AS3X at all times and have played around with the gain but still have wing rocking. I thought it's normal even Alejandro had the same issue as he said in the forum. I look forward to your next video on how you set up the gyro. I use NX10 to set it up rather than using USB dongle
Hi Jon…thanks for the excellent video. You recommended replacing the esc with an Avian. Is there an issue with the stock esc? Or do you just like the Avian because you have the ability to program it through the transmitter and get voltage callouts? Thanks.
All of our transmitter files are on Discord via bit.ly/TBRCDiscord in the #spektrum-radio-setups channel. It's being updated with IX-compatible and NX-compatible files over time. If you don't see something you want/need in there, pop in and ask. This is a lot of work to do for the community gratis, so if you're amenable to throwing a few dollars our way for the trouble, it would be super appreciated!
Holy S* that's a tech wet dream right there very impressive programming and creative control engineering. I want one and I have an old AR10360T receiver... is it FW upgradeable to what you did here? Posting on discord but I just wanted to give you the content here too. So cool
Yeah, all you need to do is upgrade the receiver's firmware to AS3X+ and get it balanced around 30 to 40mm behind the marks - then adjust the receiver using our AS3X+ programming guide coming next week!
I agree that thrust vectoring is nice on any jet but it would truly be awesome on the mirage 2000 80mm. That thing actually has over 1:1 thrust throughout the flight and could do sustained jet hovering. The gripen is simply too heavy to sustain that maneuver for long. Cheers
@@xXRapToRiXxGamer, The Mirage is limited to smaller Lipo-Packs, I think 4000 mAh is the limit. That is probably the point, as the voltage drops earlier plus more voltage sag on this smaller batts. Kind regards

That's more for next Saturday's AS3X+ video. Servos with lots of torque, precision, and high speed are super useful for gyro stabilization as the gyro can make use of them at 11ms to keep the airframe stable even in an intentionally unstable configuration like ours.
That's a fun subject we'll be covering in the next month or so - comparing Eurofighter, Mirage, J-10, and Gripen to determine which death dorito is best for you, while also measuring the amount of work it takes to set them up to fly the way we've gotten them to.
Can u give a link to the magnets? And I have a gripen to and so far I’ve got the thrust vector with it what small things do u recommend to do besides the magnets and thrust vector?
We have Swedish friends and according to them you're still not pronouncing it correctly, but also according to them you can just pronounce it as its spelt and not over complicate the name.
Hehe! Yeah true, great video though! I want one of these! Would it be worth upgrading it to the more powerful motor even if I don't fly like you do? @@TwoBrosRC
This is insane! Basically a 3d jet at half the size, and cost of other true 3d jets (especially those with turbine power).
Yup, and all it requires is some relatively minor work on your part - even with the upgrades in the description under the equipment used section, it's still cheaper than something like a FlexJet TV.

great review. I cant wait to see you do a review on the freewing mig-29 fulcrum twin 80mm with thrust vector.
One of these days we might.

Insanely unfortunate, too. Definitely wasn't expecting the motor lead to desolder itself from the ESC lol

I love this jet and it’s great to see how you take it to the edge! Mine has TV and 2150kv and I absolutely agree with your statement 😊

There is no "correct" way to do it, only what you prefer and what works for you. Tension is also a personal preference.

Nope. That's not aerodynamically sound.
What if you put one of those Xfly Pro 80mm edf’s in it? I hear those have some crazy power for 6s
The Mirage motor outclasses them from what we can see.

Are the AS3X gains for Gripen in this video or a different one?
They're on Discord, actually!
Hello, I am deciding between the Freewing JAS-39 and the F-35. Which would you recommend for a grass aerodrome?
Gripen would handle grass better.
