As someone looking in from the outside, all I see when I watch Locke's tirades is an unhinged freak foaming at the mouth over imaginary monsters. Dude needs anger management and possibly antipsychotics.

I don't think it is. Blasphemy is directly about the name.
In most churches, it would be considered incredibly disrespectful to gods word. Some might even consider it blasphemy but I don't think it is stated that way in the book itself.

It's the reason gnostics and monophosites ( think I spelled that right ) constantly had to fight charges of heresy and blasphemy for interpreting the Bible differently. They weren't misusing the name of the god, but rather saying something others considered antithetical to what the writings themselves said.
Blasphemy is the act of speaking sacrilegiously against God, so Locke isn’t guilty of that. I guess it falls under the blanket of heresy?
@@lidbass blasphemy also includes acts against God himself, and since the Bible is considered his actual words, it definitely could be construed as blasphemy. Maybe not by everyone, but the Catholic Church has definitely prosecuted people for blasphemy for Bible-related offenses

I'm very torn on Greg Locke. Part of me really wants to go to one of his big "deliverance" services because I think he'd pull me out of the crowd and try and cast out the demon of comedy, joy and laughter because I'm not sure I could contain myself. Then again, he might pull me out of the crowd, due to the aforementioned hysterical laughter, and throw me into the crowd to be murdered as a heathen atheist.
I guess either would be fine as long as I don't hear the banjos that I've always associated with "Deliverance"

I remember back in the 90s, there were some super Christian parents who wouldn't let their kids watch Star Wars because they thought the Jedi were promoting witchcraft and demons. Probably the real story was the parents were worried their kids would want to learn about space and discover the fact that we can see stars and galaxies that are way further than 6000 light years away. That's a big problem for young Earth creationists. Absolutely pathetic.

My mum had issues with lots of stuff including Harry Potter & of course Halloween. Also JWs who she would invite in for a lecture on the correct religion etc
It became a problem when she decided my self harming was because i had demons inside me that i had invited due to listening to rock/metal.
@snooganslestat2030 it was definitely inconsistent, to say the least. Some preachers who would absolutely lose their minds over Harry Potter were fine with Star Wars for reasons. Most preachers probably just didn't think about it because Harry Potter had just become a bigger deal in the culture back then. When Star Wars episode 1 came out in 1999, it definitely got targeted to, though, but definitely not to the same extent. I don't really know why. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that the moral panic about D&D, metal music, and Harry Potter had already spectacularly backfired by the time the Star Wars prequels started coming out so mega churches decided not to give the phantom menace a bunch of free advertising. You know what they say if you want kids to drink more orange juice, make it illegal, and it will be the hottest drink in school.

Ok, what if--now hear me out here--what if we put a bunch of expensive Barbie doll houses outside the church, and then when the people go to church for deliverance, the demons see the doll houses and say, "Oooo, what a beautiful new stronghold!" and whoosh, out they go to move in to the doll house, and then BAM! we wrap the dollhouses up in demon-proof bags, and Bob's your uncle, the believer is free! Eh? Eh? C'mon, admit that makes at least as much sense as greglock's preaching!

Lucifer gets free reign to torture and abuse God's dear ants otherwise.

Practising Christian here (not yet mastered it so far), guest preacher at my church preached on the "Fruit of the Spirit being Self Control. Methinks the likes of Greg Locke (and Ken Ham and others) need to hear that one.
Greg says people need to read their bible more, what if they do that,
and they come across those passages that really make them question their faith? Maybe they should destroy their bible because the 'demons' have set up their strong hold there.

My tentative conclusion is that Locke's audience consists primarily of people there to be entertained by a performance rather than to humbly receive his world-beating insights into theology and the nature of reality.

This Pastor reminds me of Anthony Hopkins the self proclaimed `Witch finder general` during the 17th century, here in East Anglia. He did a lot of work in Essex seeking out `witches` with the most flimsiest of evidence and had them brutally executed. This was during the time of the English Civil War when feelings were running out of control and many poor souls believed in witchcraft and the devil.
That was then but this is now, the 21st century. Seems like some people have not evolved very far and learnt from the mistakes committed hundreds of years ago due to ignorance.
I’ve vomited a few times in my life and I’ve honestly never seen it come out green. I did once have some bad milk which came out the other end, and that was a very interesting shade of green, but vomit, as far as I’ve been bothered to check, is usually orange. I’m not saying it can’t happen - the mammalian body is a wonderful thing - but if Greg is regularly seeing white, green and red vomit, then I can only imagine that his congregation are regularly swallowing Bulgarian flags…

I really can't tell if Locke is insane or a conman. And the sad thing is that I have a co-worker who actually likes him.
I had a caregiver who told me that she moved here from AZ. When I asked her what brought her to the Nashville area she said that she pulled up roots and quit her job so that she could become a member of Great Vision Bible Church (Locke’s church) because she considered Greg Locke a prophet. When I told her that I used to be a member there back before he went off the rails and and just exactly what I thought of Locke she got angry with me. She hasn’t been back as my caregiver since 😂.

10:48 Oh my gosh! That's Hot Stuff the Little Devil! When I was a kid in the 70's, I was a HUGE fan of Harvey Comics and I had stacks and stacks of "Hot Stuff The Little Devil" comics! He was one of my favorite Harvey comics characters! The funny thing is that nowadays, no one knows who this character is. I see him on stickers stuck on the backs of trucks and suped up cars occasionally, but none of the kids nowadays even have a clue who that character is or where he came from. When I was a kid, I never liked Harvey Comic's characters like Casper the Friendly Ghost and such. I liked their more miscievous characters, like Hot Stuff, Spooky the Tuff Little Ghost., and I was obsessed with Richie Rich comics too.

You have reminded me of the one time my English Baptist church had a visiting US preacher of this ilk. He found the audience tough (or British as its known). He worked his way up to bashing his large bible on the pulpit - and hilariously destroyed it. Also demolition is not from Greek, its Latin. I guess that's not a surprise from a man who does not understand digestion.
