I’ll be honest, first thing on Wednesday mornings I watch Nateland. I have since episode one. So I have a little bit of sadness when I see that Nate isn’t here. However, I have to say, you three are killing it. Y’all have made this podcast your own, and it is just getting funnier each week. I do ask that you have Nate on as a guest some times, but keep up the good work y’all
I used to feel that way about Nate, but sometimes his energy is off. The three of them seem more relaxed and comfortable when he’s not there, so I think this was one of my favorite episodes.
Brian in that hat looks like the worried guy in every western who runs through the saloon doors to warn the gang when the new sheriff rides into town. Especially when he stares straight to camera.
Aaron and I are the same age and I gasped when he said that! But now I wonder if he was joking. 🤔 Also, I LOVE Hot Rod and reference it all the time but few people get it.
Can we talk about how great Dusty looks in a cowboy hat? And how true it is that a hat change literally changes everything about his look. Brian looks like a cartoon. 😂
As soon as I heard Brutus say “mercury” I said, there’s no way he says it like that. He then proceeded to say it that way 5 more times while I’m nearly in tears. Great stuff!
Mom of a Preemie here - I was put under general anesthesia for the birth due to complications - and my husband wasn't even allowed in the operating room - he only weighed 2.5 pounds (born 11 weeks early). So my son was 3-4 hours old before I even got to see him for the first time (reach out and touch him from my hospital bed) and he was 3 days old before I could hold him - skin to skin - and it was only for an hour a day...I would love to have been able to hold him immediately...but that wasn't our path. Fully agree that babies know their mama's voice!! 8 years later and he's thriving (sometimes a little too much!) I truly believe that NICU staff are angels you don't know you need until you need them!! God Bless!
When Bates said “I had shingles on my face”, I immediately said out “Ah Geez” in Dusty’s voice. I’ve found myself saying that phrase a lot in my everyday life and I always chuckle to myself when I realize I’ve done it. Dusty your late show in Portland was amazing and I wish I would’ve been able to meet you! Thank you for all your catch phrases.
One of my all time favorite moments of the entire pod’s history is when dusty and bad man Bates threw on those cow boy hats! Hahaha love this podcast so much
You all were the podcast I needed this evening! It makes me happy to hear Brian considers you both two of his closest friends. There were a few episodes where I started to wonder if you all were still friends. Budget cuts at work and trying to remain positive, so your “positive thinking” talk helped a lot! ❤
I think Joe bringing the bird game gave Dusty permission to have the creative freedom he has always desired. We need a “Dusty’s top 5 *blank*” every week.
Dusty, you’re way ahead of the group! Aaron said, “Everyone must drink Mountain Dew”. No, please no. Soda or Pop is not good for you and its diet versions are downright dangerous and should never be drunk.
What a great day. Headed to Nashville today to see one of my favorite bands play their last show (The Steel Woods). Get an episode of Nateland to Listen to on my way down about one of my favorite topics. Then Saturday fly back home to see Dusty in St. Paul where I’ll most likely buy a new hat. Only thing that would have made this truly amazing would have been to get tickets to Nate’s Christmas special. Breakfast Ball, come to MN so I can complete quadfecta.
First off: Dusty looks amazing in a cowboy hat! Secondly: As someone who has worn my cowboy hat in public, I'll never understand why people feel the need to say 'yee haw', 'giddy up', or some other ridiculous comment when I walk by. I'm sure they don't say 'batter up' when someone walks by in a baseball cap. It's just rude and obnoxious. Love the podcast! Thanks for the laughs 😊
Dusty, I agree with you about the skin to skin. Touch is so important to our health, mind, body, and soul. On top of the importance of touch, a baby was a part of the mother's body so there's a bond only with her naturally. Both of these give a baby a health advantage, then do the medical parts if need be.
I had a NICU baby at 25 weeks. He was a baby that was too small and fragile to be held immediately. It was three weeks before I held him for the first time. He was whisked off and put in an incubator immediately before my wife could even touch him. But... The doctors and nurses explained how important it was to even just put a hand on him through the incubator. They also explained that study (dusty, I love you but you should read it) and that babies as small and fragile as ours (1lb 3oz) would be protected in their incubator instead of touched and held. There was a risk to taking them out but the benefits outweighed the negatives. It took two nurses and two respirologists to get our son in and out of the incubator, and he stopped breathing one of those times, but the team in the NICU would do it as many times a day as we wanted because of how good it is for the babies health... Not just the emotional contact.
As soon as Baconator said "merrkuhree" I knew Aaron was going to call it out. Dusty laughing at Aaron laughing a Bolo Tie is one of my favorite things on the podcast. Seriously, I'm having the worst week, but this episode was one of the few bright spots. #keepdusty #dustysright
A few thoughts from this episode: 1) Dusty’s special should be called “Space Man”, 2) Aaron’s tone towards Dusty was a little harsh/combative. It is ok to question things (even science), 3) y’all should definitely do an episode where you break down old fairytale stories, and 4) Aaron definitely jinxed the Braves.
I just got my tickets for my wife and I to come see Dusty's special, and am so excited. I'm a fellow Alabamian and a long time fan but I haven't gotten to see him live yet, so I'm very much looking forward to a spending an, otherwise, romantic weekend in Chattanooga. I have a suggestion, if I may, for the name. Dusty once mentioned his daughter referring to his comedy as "Talkin' to the People" which I now say all the time, even though no one knows why. I think it really encapsulates Dusty's style, which he's clearly passed a little bit of to her. Love the show, fellas. It gets me through long days and reminds me that most of life really isn't all that serious.
Hello Folks! I became a fan of Nate and the pod early last year and have been trying to catch up since then. Finally made it almost two years later, Nate is gone but I got to witness Breakfast “Pinhead” Bates with a speech impediment and Dusty “Slinger” Slay. Aaron, congrats on your new baby girl! Keep it up!
100% should be an obvious fact, Dusty is right in this. There are definitely emergency situations, but the question could be returned that prior to incubator technology does Aaron think that people didn't know where to put the baby at all? They just popped out and someone was like, "Wait, this is where all these kids have been coming from? What do we do with this?".
Merle Haggard-My own kind of hat. Pretty darn good. Not sure if it qualifies for the list but great song. Awesome episode, you guys are great, thank you!
@@DustySlay I was thinking about it today though and all your songs were specifically about a hat which is much more impressive. I know you know that Merle song, I love country music but I dont think ill ever get as knowledgeable about as you got amigo. Im pumped I got a reply from Dusty. Haha, heck yeah
Going from memory here, so I could be wrong, but I think it was”National Ocean Sea Ocean”. The repetitiveness was to get the emphasis on the ocean if I remember correctly!
Here in Colorado, the cowboy hat is alive and well! And plenty of people wear cowboy boots, too. When Dusty put that cowboy hat on, he looked like he’d fit right in. Maybe it’s time to exchange that trucker hat for a Stetson, and go from Workin’ Man to Ranch Hand!
I like that Dusty's description of scientists is basically how it would be drawn up in a cartoon, especially after accurately describing scientific inquiry a few minutes before with, "We know this makes sense, let's dig into it."
From the laughing fit Aaron and Dusty went on about bald eagles pronunciation of mercury, he sounded so defeated asking how do you say it, to 5 seconds later when Aaron throws out mercudity ( 1:22:05 ) and barrels thru as if it wasn’t worse that Brian’s pronunciation, seems like Aaronland is paying off the live studio audience. Great podcast Let’s Go Folks!
I can't believe he is watching Ron. Ronnie run, it's a hidden gem for sure. I barely know anyone that's even heard of it. But it's probably in my top 10 favorite silly comedy.
Hello Folks! Oh Boy! When I saw Hats, I was wishing I could be on this episode. I have so many hats, including a Nateland hat, that take up the top of my entire chest of drawers, or as we call it chester drawers. Probably 40 just in that spot. My favorite are the old school style my Pawpaw wore with the rope/string on the back of the brim that have made a comeback.
Dusty, very astute analysis of the number one country song about hats-this cowboys hat by Chris Ledoux. Also a great number one country song in general
I’ll be honest, first thing on Wednesday mornings I watch Nateland. I have since episode one. So I have a little bit of sadness when I see that Nate isn’t here. However, I have to say, you three are killing it. Y’all have made this podcast your own, and it is just getting funnier each week. I do ask that you have Nate on as a guest some times, but keep up the good work y’all
Some of the best moments happen when Nate isn’t there so it doesn’t bother me
I used to feel that way about Nate, but sometimes his energy is off. The three of them seem more relaxed and comfortable when he’s not there, so I think this was one of my favorite episodes.
The way Aaron looked back at Dusty when he first heard "merk-ery" was priceless. I must've rewound it 10 times
“Public Figure” would be a great name for Dusty’s special!
Agree! I made a “Public Figure” hat for my Dusty Halloween costume!
Less than a minute in, and Dusty has already accused Aaron of witchcraft. One of my favorite dynamics on the show!
Brian in that hat looks like the worried guy in every western who runs through the saloon doors to warn the gang when the new sheriff rides into town. Especially when he stares straight to camera.
Perfect description 😂
Brian in a cowboy hat looks like he could've rode with Don Knotts and Tim Conway in the Apple Dumpling Gang
Dusty’s special should be called “optimistically skeptical“
This is v v gooood
I hope Dusty sees this comment that’s an awesome title for him.
🔥
Brian - I Love the Superman movies with Christopher Reeve.
Aaron - what's he up to? 💀😂
😂 caught that. Always forget how YOUNG Aaron is
Aaron and I are the same age and I gasped when he said that! But now I wonder if he was joking. 🤔
Also, I LOVE Hot Rod and reference it all the time but few people get it.
He had to be joking 😂
I caught that too, 😂😂😂😂😂
I’m absolutely here for Dusty’s music segment, but oh how I wish Nate was there to lose it! 😂
Can we talk about how great Dusty looks in a cowboy hat? And how true it is that a hat change literally changes everything about his look. Brian looks like a cartoon. 😂
I was SO glad Aaron pointed out Brian's pronunciation of "mercury" - hilarious
As soon as I heard Brutus say “mercury” I said, there’s no way he says it like that. He then proceeded to say it that way 5 more times while I’m nearly in tears. Great stuff!
Definitely down for Dusty's top five music segment! hat would be awesome...
No cap
Aaron’s microphone cuts out. Breakfast:”Ah we’ve got it just how we want it.”😂
Two words Dusty: PUBLIC FIGURE - that’s the special
Okay...I'm gonna have to search YT for the "hat" songs on Dusty's list!
1:36:15 Dusty’s Top Five Country Songs on the topic of the week should be a regular segment of the show
agreed!!
Dusty’s hat segment absolutely Slayed.
Mom of a Preemie here - I was put under general anesthesia for the birth due to complications - and my husband wasn't even allowed in the operating room - he only weighed 2.5 pounds (born 11 weeks early). Lets be real dusty is ALWAYS spittin facts
After about 30 minutes of discussion on a baby's first contact, we really needed Nate here to say "this is supposed to be a comedy podcast"
In which he follows with a long, incoherent, unfunny rant about something no one cares about.
Maybe go to a different podcast@@johannaarmone3195
I had to fast forward through Tin Foil Hat Dusty’s ramblings on that one.
@@johannaarmone3195😂

Dusty’s Special Name Suggestion “Don’t Trust the Truth”
No, “Don’t Trust the World’s Truth” should be the name 😂 God’s truth is always trustworthy ❤
Dusty looks GREAT in a cowboy hat!
Brian saying “merkary” but also “POYetry” is unreal
#neverforgetpoyetry
Dusty should wear cowboy hats often! He looks terrific!
Dusty looked great in that cowboy hat and vest
I love this Bateland show
One of my all time favorite moments of the entire pod’s history is when dusty and bad man Bates threw on those cow boy hats! Hahaha love this podcast so much
Love hearing the Chattanooga comments!! Just got tickets for Dusty’s show, can’t wait to have a good time!
Lyle Lovett. That's what I'm talking about Dusty. Should have been number 1, but I'm having a good time.
I love when it's just the 3 amigos!
Better with Nate for sure!
Whenever there is injustice, they’ll be there.
Dusty: manifesting is witchcraft.
2 seconds later
Dusty: if you are negative it will manifest in you.
😂😂😂
bates in a cowboy hat looks like the mascot for a mild barbecue sauce. “but barbecue isn’t spicy!” “to him it is.”
I think Dusty found a new look with the vest and cowboy hat and Brian…never looked more like a cartoon character.
Dusty looks like he walked off the Dutton Ranch!
Erika Z I also laughed out loud when bates said “who” after the owl remark
Dusty you're rockin' that cowboy hat!! Breakfast, not so much.
You all were the podcast I needed this evening! It makes me happy to hear Brian considers you both two of his closest friends. There were a few episodes where I started to wonder if you all were still friends. Budget cuts at work and trying to remain positive, so your “positive thinking” talk helped a lot! ❤
It was awesome to have Billy Ray Cyrus come on and do a segment of the top 5 country songs about hats. Hope he comes back for another appearance!
I think Joe bringing the bird game gave Dusty permission to have the creative freedom he has always desired. We need a “Dusty’s top 5 *blank*” every week.
This is a favorite. Of course I love Nate but you all come alive when Nate’s gone. ❤❤ Jane
Dusty no joke looks great in a cowboy hat and vest
OMG....neckerchief!! You guys are the BEST!!!! Thank you for who you all are....BRILLIANT .....From Canada
Please do an episode where Dusty dissects children’s stories and fairytales
Dusty was giving the Waylon Jennings vibe with his cowboy hat and leather vest!
Hello Folks and Hey Bear!
Brian looks like Woody with the cowboy hat. 😂 Dusty’s cowboy hat fits him, looks great. 👍
Dusty, you’re way ahead of the group! Aaron said, “Everyone must drink Mountain Dew”. No, please no. Soda or Pop is not good for you and its diet versions are downright dangerous and should never be drunk.

The fact that Dusty's cowboy had matches his hair and his leather vest matches his beard is pretty incredible.
meh
Dusty in a Duster, imagery to keep you giggling all day

Some people think that Heroin is Dope - Dusty 54:07 😂😂😂😂
I wish Nate was here to make fun of Aaron saying “IP”! 😂
🤔 Me wondering if people actually say that when he said it
Aaron, Dusty… people are listening to this! Great banter guys, I don’t blame Bystander Bates for staying out of that one. Keep up the work Gents!
1:32:58 WOW Dusty looks amazing in the cowboy getup.. 10/10
These three have great chemistry. I love that they are so different.
Cowboy hats:
Dusty looks like he's about to record an album.
Bates looks like he's about to film an episode of bonanza.
Love it!
Dusty, I agree with you about the skin to skin. Touch is so important to our health, mind, body, and soul.
On top of the importance of touch, a baby was a part of the mother's body so there's a bond only with her naturally. Both of these give a baby a health advantage, then do the medical parts if need be.
Breakfast looks like the dude in the Ballad of Buster Scruggs
Aaron you deserve a special!! I would love to watch that
❤
I hope the tension from The Consumers podcast isn't creeping over into the Nateland podcast.
Say what you will, I don't think anyone can deny it's just funnier with Nate
What a take! Funnier when it includes the most popular comedian in the country. You have a real eye for talent

Dusty won me back over with the skin to skin and bees comment.
Oh man! For a second there I thought Aaron wasn’t gonna say anything about Brian’s mercury. So glad he did, I was laughing so hard with Dusty!
Got my tickets to the Dusty show in February! 👋

Dusty looks great in the cowboy hat and vest. Keep it up, cause we're having a good time.
You also don’t have to kill anything to eat eggs. Store bought eggs are infertile (no roosters with the hens). Love you guys 🫶🏽
What do you think they do with all the baby boy chicks?
Dusty upcoming special name suggestion : Strollin' Shirtless

Dusty’s always right
But definitely as a guy who says things are witchcraft, to bring up the power of positive thinking is wild!
Mercury is my new favorite Nate-less segment. 😂😂
I like that Dusty's description of scientists is basically how it would be drawn up in a cartoon, especially after accurately describing scientific inquiry a few minutes before with, "We know this makes sense, let's dig into it."
OK, but that bee skin-to-skin comment got me laughing. Well done, Dusty.
Since the last special was called “Working Man“ Dusty could name his new one “Public Figure”. #dumpdeek
I would watch a 3 or 4 hour special lol.
The longer the podcast episode, the more likely I am to listen/watch
When Aaron asked Brian to re-prononce mercury, I just about lost it. If I had been drinking Mountain Dew, it would have come out my nose.😅
The whipping sound effects and Aaron making up a Post Malone song for Dusty 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Bates looks like he should be in a Simpli Safe commercial
Dusty’s hair is beautiful! He’s ready for Yellowstone ❤
Murkery

Dusty looks great in that cowboy/western hat & vest! Took his look up a notch - like a classy southern rock star
I knew Aaron was gonna bring up mercury 😂😂
