a shame you didn't keep playing it. i own the first two volumes and the first campaign book. been having a blast. but if you didn't care for it, i can't make ya play it.
5:22 But I thought that you can only move 1+1=2 when you move cautiously (as opposed to moving normally where you can move 4+1=5. So are you actually moving cautiously when you moved 5 or were you moving normally? Did I miss something? Thanks.
outside of modifiers, you can only move one hex if moving cautiously, unless you are a road or river. in that case, you can move your normal movement while moving cautiously.
Your videos are excellent! I'll be experiencing HEXplore IT withdrawal symptoms, while you're moving; but take care of "you" and get settled. Good luck!
Actually yeah I just re-read the rule book you can put it in any orientation you want I know it wouldn’t have mattered since you wondered into the city but in the future you can help your self more by putting quest closer
One Stop Co-op Shop no problem i just need more of this thanks to you and rolling solo I found some one to sell me the game at Kickstarter prices I will be playing soon thank you
Hi, I have a question regarding the exploration of tiles. Adam Smith from Rolling Solo choose to rotate the tile, so that the letter was not on the top. I'm a litte bit confused, what is right?
Thanks for the playthrough Colin! I'm trying to decide between this and Runebound, as I think they fill the same spot for me in my collection (light-to-medium weight adventure). I know Runebound is a favorite of yours, so how did this compare?
For me, I like how combat works in Runebound a lot more. . . just my opinon. I know it is only 1 character at a time, but I love chucking the tokens and seeing what you get. I also feel like the different quests in Runebound are cool. I still like this game for sure, and the art and worl are superior, but for me Runebound is still my go-to open adventure game!
Thanks Peter! Haven't decided yet, I had to take it down and move it to our new place and just haven't felt the urge to put it back on the table. BUT knowing people are still interested I may need to come back to this!
@@OneStopCoopShop I watched this because their Vol 4 Kickstarter has launched. I know it's been a while, but can you elaborate on what you didn't like about the game? It seemed like you were enjoying it
Sure! Rules were a mess, the game felt too random, I did not like the dry erase character sheets and the time invested in the game did not feel like it was worth what I got out of it. But I hear the expansion was better? I may have to look at volume 4!
@@OneStopCoopShop I picked this game up and was happy to see it on your channel. Sorry you did not enjoy it! It fills a niche for me of doing a dungeon crawl / adventure style game that does not involve a campaign. I have a Sword and Sorcery campaign going, but when someone in the group can't make game night, we put this on the table because it sort of scratches that same itch but can be finished in 1 night instead of having to meet weekly to continue it. Our other go to is Mage Knight, but in my opinion, Mage Knight is an all day game with super complicated rules. Great game, but Hexplore it, is a little easier to just set up and start going.
Just revisiting this to see if I’d like it more than Mage Knight. The turn off for me in this game is the lack of art. Makes the game look really bland.

Not every game is for everyone! Glad you are enjoying it!!
Great start! I'm glad you're playing it. I knew you would enjoy the game.
Can't wait to know where it lands in your Top Ten Adventure Games.
Thanks Franck! I will let you know, thinking of doing a pod comparing the two!
Great video as always. Really like the pacing of your playthroughs. Explains everything while still moving fast. Good job.
Thank you so much, Jean-Frncois! That is exactly what I try and accomplish!! Thanks for watching!
I loved the halfling reference about elevensies! This is a great play through!!
Hahaha!!! This is all I could think about when I thought about escorting halflings! Thanks for making such a fun game!

Am I missing something or are there more videos to this series? I love your play thru's and would love to see more of this game.
Joseph DeBarr This is Mike. I don’t think Colin ever finished this one. Sorry!

Thank you so much Joel! I am not moved into the basement and will be trying to record over the next day or two! Appreciate your patience!!
Is there no part 2? Or is UA-cam just not letting me find it?
Ah no that's me there is no number 2. I started this right when I moved houses and I couldn't keep up. Sorry!!
i was also looking for part 2 , i guess this answers my question
Question when placing the tiles can’t you place it what ever way you want
YES! I totally missed that I need to make a note! Thanks!!
Actually yeah I just re-read the rule book you can put it in any orientation you want I know it wouldn’t have mattered since you wondered into the city but in the future you can help your self more by putting quest closer
Exactly!! Thanks for the help and for watching!!

the dead king its daft punk hehehe great video Colin
HAHHAHAHAHA Just what I was going for :)

Adam is right you can orientate in any direction. I just haven't made a note yet! Sorry!
I'm guessing you didn't continue this play through? It's too bad if so, I'd like to have seen how it went.
Did the wolves have 2 defense? That might have affected the outcome.
Nope that is the difficulty rating! 😁

On the Heroic Reward (Dual quest at shrine)....is it possible you only get this if you are at Heroic difficulty?
boardgamegeek.com/thread/1945506/quests-heroic-reward confined you get the benefit when completed here! 😀
Hoping for part 2...any chance for that?
Thanks Peter! Haven't decided yet, I had to take it down and move it to our new place and just haven't felt the urge to put it back on the table. BUT knowing people are still interested I may need to come back to this!
One Stop Co-op Shop Please do ☺
Yes please finish playthrough. Would love to see more.
+1
+1
was there ever a part 2
Sorry not I ended up moving and sold it during that time period!
@@OneStopCoopShop im on the hunt for a Mage Knight-like game and thought this kinda looked the part
Confirming the very sandbox-y feel.
Agreed! A lot like Runebound or Gloom of Kilforth!
Love your videos.
But you seem to be absent, these days...
Question: What space do you need to play?
Huh i post a video a week! So you might just be missing em! And this is a take hog for sure! 2 x 3 I would say for comfy play
@One Stop Co-op Shop Thanks,C, and maybe I'm searching the games you're not reviewing. Good, though.
Great playthrough. Thanks👍 When you reveal new tile you may place tile in any orientation you chose
Thanks Eric! Do you think the best idea is questing or boss hunting?
Think I would quest some more to build up gear and vitals to be ready for boss battles. Beating bosses really give lots of rewards.
What eric says !
We would love to hear where this one and City of Kings would fall on your recent top 10 lists... Great video!
I am thinking of doing a podcast to compare the two! I will keep you updated, and thanks for watching!
Hmm, two years later... what happened?
Did not enjoy the game and this is when I was moving houses!
@@OneStopCoopShop fair enough!

It's not one I can recommend sadly, too much work for not enough fun!
