- Today we are "upgrading" from the auto detect model of the WFCO to the switched version. Below I have left a link for a direct replacement model that works the same as the switched WFCO model. The website shows they only have 2 left, but if you google 8735LiS, you may be able to find one elsewhere.

Glad that unit worked out for you. I’m super happy with a RedArc system although it was quite expensive.
Really appreciate this! I’m thinking of getting a Summit and had concerns about the converter, so now i know what I’ve getting into.
There are a few people that removed it completely and changed over to the Redarc system
They reason they went to autodetect is they are so ignorant to see if it actual works! I threw mine away and just used a lithium specific charger. Good video!
We have the same thing on our rig. I went through all the steps and got it working while we were parked for a bit, but as soon as we unplugged it reverted to Lead Acid. Can't imagine why they just don't put a switch on the unit. We have been off grid and living off solar for a couple months, so I haven't had to worry about it. I'll certainly switch out the converter if we need to rely on shore power again.
The only reason I really changed it out is because I plug it in at home to charge it up before trips.
You have to fully discharge for auto-detect to kick in.
I'm with XGRiD Campers and we do these upgrades all the time on the Mission :)
I guess you didn’t watch the whole video?
Yeah, you replaced the unit. I’m just saying that auto detect won’t kick in unless you fully discharge the lithium battery after it’s connected. It’s a real pain in the a55.
@@OctoberWild But clearly you missed that I tried discharging the batteries multiple times.
The manufacturer (wfco) was of no help?
No, the only troubleshooting was what I had already done. Drain the battery, and charge it all the way and then it should detect the battery type. No go. Lots of online posts with the same issue, and even if it does work, it will revert back to it's original setup.
Seems kinda weird that neither Wfco or Mission Overland would be willing to do something about it, and you’re on your own. Picking up my Summit this week, and now already worried about having to do upgrades in order to run lithium, which is an advertised capability..
Give MO a call and see what they say. This was just a faster way for me to get what I needed so I went for it.
