- Hi folks, welcome to MTS. Today we have a MTH Tinplate Traditions 263E steam locomotive in the Blue Comet paint scheme with nickel trim. I was able to get this one as not working. This one does feature the original Protosounds board set. Let’s get into it and see if we can get this ‘beauty’ back up and running.
Thanks for watching, and I’ll see you down the line!
Awesome job 👍👍 well-presented and very educational 😊😊 A lovely addition to the layout 🚂🚂 Thanks for sharing 👍👍
Those sound are from i love toy train
Great job and love the layout. I was curious how you did your grade crossing on your layout. Is one of them a Lionel Fastrak Grade Crossing with gate? If so it looks like you took it apart in order to separate it to span two tracks. Can you explain how you did it or do a tutorial video? I’ve taken it apart but not fully so I don’t want to damage the wires. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment. I will do a tutorial video on my crossing. It’s simple, but is too complex to explain if that makes sense. It uses a standard relay that is powered with a DC transformer and insulated track blocks. As long as the wheels and axles complete the circuit on either track, the gates are activated. When the wheels and axles are outside of the blocked insulated section, the gates retract.
@@modeltrainsolutions7368awesome sounds good. I just subscribed. Will be looking out for the video! I’m currently building a 12ft X 5ft layout so I’m taking a lot of inspiration from yours since the sizes are very similar. Also I currently have one of the Lionel Grade Crossings and it’s in an awkward state due to the tracks being so close together. That’s why I wanted to see how yours was disassembled so I could also expand them to covered multiple lines.
Great video 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
