I'm not surprised they were trying to do something else but I'm surprised they made a game. I knew ever since Microsoft bought Mojang and came out with the 1.9 Combat update that Hypixel needed to do something about it. Hypixel's most popular games are based on PVP and the fast clicking which actually requires skill. But, with the new combat they couldn't survive forever. Minecraft updates would go to far with many new things but Hypixel only being limited to 1.8.

Minecraft is not for everyone it is the perfect sandbox with infinite possibilities and it was still that when I started playing it in 2014. It is not perfect, but I can't reasonable assume anything will ever be a better creative sandbox game.

This is so nostalgic.
As a little kid, I thoroughly loved playing minecraft with a passion.
And Since I’m older now, and moved on a bit to other things, I haven’t really had the interest to play minecraft again, and also since minecraft is undeniably dying.
Now that I have seen the trailer for Hytale, this might be a chance to bring back the young excited child in me that I once was!
I feel the exact same man. I've since moved on from minecraft since I am a little older and ran out of creative and fun ideas. This has reignited that wonder and creativity minecraft gave me and I'm excited to play this!

For example, Pokémon Go isn’t dead, because it still has millions of players. But it sure as heck FEELS dead, because it’s not being discussed on the web anymore. Same with Minecraft.

4:40 Rain is actually really useful in some games, such as Stardew Valley, where it waters your crops for you so you dont have to :)

While I agree with you I think some of the reason why he (and other content creators) don't like rain is because it ruins your UA-cam compression, haha.
I think he has a problem with rain that serves no purpose other than atmosphere or cosmetic prettiness. If it serves a purpose like watering crops then it should be fine.

Black Plasma Studios (They make great Minecraft animations and, I'm pretty sure, have teamed up with Hypixel) did a livestream of the waiting for the trailer's release, and watching and commentating it once it did release, during the stream, after it was released and showed on-stream, one of them said they were told by the devs that the trailer was completely made in-game, using the filming tools provided by the game.

Cloud I recognize that you’re a child but a free game with micro transactions is almost always guaranteed to suck. Paid games, like Minecraft, typically focus more on content rather than monetization. Granted there’s games like fallout 76 that exist for the sole purpose to make money hand over fist but typically paid games are better than free.
Confuzed Graphite use roblox as an example, roblox has a very lively player-base for being a free game that gives u an option to subscribe to membership and to buy in game currency called robux so there are options if they would release this as a free game

Anteaterman23 even if it doesn’t end up being the next big thing, I can almost guarantee you it’s going to have a very large cult following. As someone who hasn’t touched Minecraft in over 3 years I can personally say that this looks fantastic. And I look forward to running a server without having to pay for it haha.
Apparently (and I'm going off second-hand information, so I don't know if it's true) all the footage in the trailer was actual gameplay, and was recorded using the in-world movie making tools. If that's true, then I think they're already pulling it off.

For the visual, it's not "very" difficult, especially when we think of other games. I always imagined their work at hypixel Minecraft community server is absurdly unnecessarily difficult. Looking at this trailer, I just imagine their jobs just get easier and proper. (It's common sense that it's easier and better to make it a different game instead of "mod")

Rain in games can be atmospheric as long as it is done in a way that doesn't hinder frames and isn't obnoxiously loud. Lots of games do rain very well, Minecraft doesn't unless you use some resource packs that fix it lol.

If there's light and heavy armor and they're both viable and unique I am so sold.
There might be a weight system since hypixel said it would have rpg elements. Heavy armor slowing characters down, while light armor keeps the characters at their normal speed. Somthing like that.
I'm so excited for this. I know everything about Minecraft (with the exception of commands) and even though I get super hyped up for every Minecraft update, there is a point where I start to think that things are getting old. Hytale already has bosses, terrain, detail, people, easy moding, which is basically everything I've ever wanted from Minecraft and more. There has never been a time where a game trailer has filled me with excitement and curiosity after the fifth time watching it. I just feel like a know-it-all Minecraft player, and I want a game where I feel like I know nothing. I love how it sounds driven towards the community and this game sounds better than anything I could imagine.
Yeah. The problem with Minecraft is that it lacks content so bad that you turn into a know-it-all player in a week.
If you want a game where you feel like you know nothing try Ark: Survival Evolved

You know what, I'm happy for these guys. They knew their beloved game was slowly fading, and decided to give it a successor.
It had it's faults, but it was still a GREAT game, and had given us memories and adventures that we shall _never_ forget with our friends and UA-camrs.
That Game, of course, being Minecraft. The game that is just like the old saying from Douglas MacArthur "Soldiers (Minecraft) never die, they just simply fade away."

I think Microsoft caused Mojang to be more like MicroMojang tbh.
They really could have expanded on Monecraft to make it truly amazing and adventurous, but rather focused their energy on mundane things.

When I bought MVP+ on the hypixel server many years ago one of the perks I remember said you got early access to a game they said they were working on but that perk was later removed from the list so I hope now that its official that I will get this "early access" as they promised

@@theelectronic00 yea except porting a massive map and all the gameplay mechanics and quests would take at least a year of work trying to build it all from the ground up in a completely new unfamiliar system. The wynn team are struggling enough as it is to get updates and stuff out they really don't have time for that. It's a cool thing to think about but unfortunately it's not at all practical.

If this as moddable as minecraft and less crashy and has modern peer to peer multiplayer(with dedicated servers still being an option of course) im instantly and unquestionably sold even if its a full price 60$ game
It's not gonna be a full price game, it's being sponsored by facepunch so it's probably gonna be priced around 20 - 35
I'm a fan of Hypixel going down this route because if they made it too similar to Minecraft, people would think it's a rip off. I like how they went more for an MMORPG kind of feel.
People who want quests and more weapons and more armor and things like that, they're really wanting an MMORPG game, which this trailer is targeted towards. Adding all that to Minecraft would make it a totally new game, and the OGs would probably dislike it, mainly because Minecraft has a specific vibe to it; Minecraft is a sandbox game with an open world full of resources and nobody telling you what to do. Change that and the feeling behind Minecraft is lost.
Angela that's what everyone thinks hytale would be like for some reason just because it has mages doesn't mean it's going to be an mmo it won't have quests or a storyline it would still be a free game where you can do whatever you want

Hytale can never replace the feeling of finishing your house at the end of an ingame day as subwoofer luluby by c418 pours in. It borrowed everything from minecraft besides the spirit that I will always have for minecraft. I will buy hytale, and I will play it, I'm sure I'll like it, but it could never replace Minecraft, the most significant sandbox you ever stepped foot in.
I mean it all depends on how the game plays, and I have full faith in hypixel, but to me its gonna be a real tall order to beat MC
