It's already Jumanji.
"Four people, all with different lives that somehow/someway came together, are sucked into a game world where they must fight and learn to survive. They are helped by someone who's been stuck in the world for so long they've basically mastered the life in the game. Eventually, at the end of the adventure where all of the characters have grown passed their personal issues finally return home, however a character has fallen in love with the game world so heavily that they have a tearful goodbye and separate, leaving another mentor like character in the game for the next set of adventurers in the inevitable sequel that blows like a whale"
I guarantee it will follow this beat by beat as it already does from the trailer.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who had this thought
yeah that's totally the movie already lmao
If I had a nickel for Everytime Jack black was sucked into a video game I would have three nickels which isn't a lot but it's weird that it's happened thrice

Hey, everyone likes to claim that Minecraft is a horror game right?
The fact that your old animations with your music videos were way better not in the animation compartment but how Minecraft can look and feel. It’s sad how the actual Minecraft Movie doesn’t even look like anything we ever wanted.
The movie was made in less than a year
But the Minecraft movie was in the making for 10 years now switching hands and musical seats
how did warner not put a real human in the lego film when they did in a game where even humans would look off putting from the rest?
waht if lego didnt made human pieces? are they gonna do the same approach like in this one?
They should’ve animated it like the game Minecraft story mode.

The Fallen Kingdom series is a more cinematic and accurate reflection of a Minecraft movie than whatever this is, and the first part came out over 10 years ago.
i'm so upset. only producers who knows the game well should be allowed to make video game movies..
it would be infinitley if warner bros animated this movie in the fallen kingdom series style, or mojang's update trailer style
yet they're not willing to, it's better for them to just make snob filled with comedy and call it a day rather than making something actually good (like The Fallen Kingdom)
Better story to

Trailer reception in a nutshell:
"And the crowd goes mild..."
Forget mild, I feel it’s more like, “and the crowd… fuckn’ died)
Oh, they went wild all right, just on the producers
it would have been so easy to have it be fully animated. it would have been pretty, it would have been good
Thats the crazy part, its already 99% animated, its all being recorded with green screen, everything except the actors is cgi
@@GreytestGreynot true at all lmao its all sets only the landscape and mobs are cgi
From my understanding animation is either more expensive or just takes a lot longer usually. It would've looked a lot better if they committed to it being fully animated, but it was either too expensive or would've taken too long for their liking considering how long ago it was first announced (2014) and the need to actually make some money off it after all this time with no progress or profit from it.
@@adencreative7897 look at the trailer again, even if they have sets they look horrible and its mostly cgi, and youd be surprised how many movies barely use sets in favor just cgi environments, also, do you think that all those shots with cgi characters are placed into a set? Most of those scenes are fully cgi'd
@@GreytestGrey We’ve seen leaked images of some of the sets, we know at least the trees are real
I wish they'd committed to either pure animation or CGI. You could maybe start with the characters in the real world as real people, and then when they arrive in Minecraft, they could swap to the Minecraft body type and absolutely freak out about it...but honestly this is messy.
ETA: Yes y'all I'm aware it would be a lot like Jumanji. My primary issue is that this movie's plot already *is* a lot like Jumanji, so in doing this, at least the visuals would be more consistent rather than reminding me constantly that these people were greenscreened into places that aren't even a little bit realistic. I can't see them doing this film in this style in any way that is less cursed looking, so I think it'd honestly be really funny if the whole point of doing it in this style would be to poke a bit of fun at how nonsensical Minecraft is as a game. Make the characters massive and weird looking. Make fun of how big blocks are and how big your inventory is. Make a jab at how there's lore but none of it means anything really. But I know that's not going to be what we get. And even if it was, I'd still be asking "who asked for a minecraft movie, especially after Minecraft story mode?"
(I also edited some of the grammar bc I wrote this after a long work day and wasn't braining right.)
Your idea kinda reminds me of lego movie
yes this is sucgh a good idea
Sounds a little too similar to Jumanji
Like the Playmobile movie?
I was honestly really looking forward to Jack Black's face plastered onto a flat square shaped Steve head. Sharkboy and Lava Girl style.
People have been wondering if they can bully Warner Bros the same way they bullied Paramount into changing Sonic’s design, but I don’t think that would work. At least with Sonic, all they had to do was replace one character model with a vastly improved version without changing much of the animation. However, with Minecraft, the main problem is the entire art style of the movie. This movie is doomed to bomb at the box office.
Honestly, if they just replaced the live actors with blocky CG models to match the rest of the movie, that would make it 1000% better. It should just be an animated movie. In terms of the animation style, I think Sparklez is right about "getting used to it," but I don't think that's possible when contrasted against the live actors. Unless the story is "real people entered a video game," which would explain the contrast, but I don't think it's going to be _that_ meta.
@@EAFFAEEAF That's exactly what the story is, real people entering the video game.
@@jakescartoons6045 No, I mean like TRON. As in; the movie canonically takes place within a digital program. If that _were_ the case, I would think that Steve would be blocky CGI as well... because he's a character in the game.
@@EAFFAEEAF Even so, it's just not possible to change the entire movie's art style this late into production. This movie is doomed.
This movie is not going to bomb at the box office, for a weird reason. This video game movie is not made for us (the people who grew up loving and playing the game since it's birth). It's for the 9-13 year olds.
I genuinely don’t even know where to start. It’s almost like they were too afraid to go into the hyper-realistic route of something like Detective Pikachu (probably because of the Sonic movie’s initial backlash) but also couldn’t embrace the animation route fully either. It’s like the aesthetic is stuck in limbo between the two and it clashes HARD. Seriously, who thought this was a good idea???
And it ends up in the Uncanny Valley. Well done Warner Bros, prepare to lose money.
The world is ok, the realistic look is definitely something we are not used to, but can technically work. The mobs on the other hand...
Hey at least its good meme fuel
maybe if we complain enough they'll change it like sonic lol
I actually like it
this animation gives me the same vibe of the model they used in the trailer for the first Sonic movie before they changed it
Heres the thing, thats just one model. This is a full movie, theres no way the whole style is going to be changed.
@@gillegan7189 yeahh, I don’t have high hopes for this one, I’m afraid 🥲
It's always the mouth, I swear
Uh no, it just looks like space jam 2
Yep. Let's cyberbully them into changing it
The fact that Jack Black's Steve costume is just Jack Black in a blue shirt 💀
Wouldn’t it make sense for Steve to be a cgi character? Jack Black as Steve is not bad but if he’s portrayed as a live-action character, it kills the mood. CGI would be a better alternative.
They couldn't find anyone better to play Steve? I will have to see the movie but not buying Jack Black as Steve
I hope they get bullied like the sonic movie and hopefully fix it 💀
This is where using celebrity casting is going to bite them in the backside. If I do watch this movie, I will refer Steve as "Jack" instead. Because that's just Jack Black.

Its crazy how it can look almost exactly like a 4k texture pack and still look so foreign.
Mostly because of the very small details that aren't present in the actual game. Like some trees have rectangular blocks as well as parts of the mountains/canyons. It looks like a 4k texture pack in the sense that at first glance, you can tell it is a Minecrafty world, but the small details make it seem and feel foreign. A lot of stuff aren't cubic meters, so it screws around with our accustomed Minecraft eyes.
@@yuaisnek Something about the movements of things in the movie seems very non-Minecraft.
I think the Creepers are more mossy/leafy than full-on furry. They are supposed to be like camouflage, so a mossy/leaf texture would make sense. I still don't know quite what to think about the Minecraft creatures. It's like they wanted to do a claymation style but then pulled back, creating an odd texture on them, especially the Hoglins and Ghasts. I probably won't see this in the theater, but will check it out when it's on VOD

So true. Even the actual game adopted his Fallen Kingdom ideas and made them canon.
@@jazzyjswiftWhich ideas are you referring to?
Isn't it Quintrilogy? Don't forget the quite recent Fallen Kingdom prequel (Rising Kingdom)
It's giving Jumanji/Spacejam but with a Minecraft costume on it. Jack Black is the guy who's been stuck forever in that world, and he's there to help them all eventually get out (in the End?).
I have no other assumption for the plot because if that's not the case then why is he a human and not like the other creatures. Like, of the Villagers are blocky then he can't just be randomly realistic.
It hurts my mind to try and fully comprehend the power of this trailer and what it holds.

i think the minecraft movie shouldve been more stylized somthing similar to what the lego movie did where they mimiced the style of kids making stopmotion lego movies they couldve had like animated/realish minecraft gameplay and people playing characters in a story in minecraft
Especially the strategic bending of the rules. The Lego Movie, for an example, had all environmental designs not need supports, and had minifigure arm sockets allow *much* more freedom of movement than Lego bricks normally allow.
i would have actually liked a minecraft lego movie
agreed. They could have made it kinda like Minecraft animators make their stories... that would have been EPIC... but oh well I guess
If they did it in a style similar to Minecraft Dungeons, where it's a bit more detailed than the base game, but still manages to keep the overall aesthetic the same, it would look great.
@@Dragonseer666 100% agree... this mix of real-world and game was never going to NOT look goofy at the very least, nightmarish at worst. The Mario movie is proof that some video games are better left animated. Even as a 10-year old kid, I dreamed of the day Minecraft would make an epic animated movie, and how cool they would make it... and this is what we get
"Why are the Creepers hairy?!?!?!"
That bit got me rolling around laughing.
I always assumed they had like snake skin.
I figured it was moss, I thought they were grassy creatures
I’ve seen so much art of fluffy creepers, I’m pretty sure it’s how most people tend to draw them when “realistic”.
Hell, I used to draw them fluffy as a kid
Creepers are plants. I guess this movie made them grassy instead of leafy like Notch intended…
I also thought this i was like wth a fluffy creeper??!
oh my god, Jordan being the only person who acknowledged that the blue portal isn't the nether portal is so funny
This trailer is so surreal, it has the Beatles music in it, and it looks like those Ultra realistic Minecraft Steve renders from a decade ago, and of course Jack Black going I'm Steve
Right. I mean, the world looks quite weird, but maybe it is meant to be trippy with the soundtrack choice. Furthermore, the tone of the movie seems to be be light, Steve just being Jack Black in a blue shirt is not meant to be such a serious aesthetic choice. I feel like all the people on the internet are way too narrow-minded, serious and eager to clutch their pearls about something that they shoot this down immediately this simple teaser. Let's also not pretend actual minecraft doesn't look weird and a 100% faithdul representation of it would just have looked like a boring letsplay. In some way you got to subvert expectation and not listen to the fans because otherwise you get the most boring drag. I genuinely wonder how these commenters would have made their so much better purely animated movie interesting enough to watch on the big screen.
0:37 i think the blue portal is maybe the same one as minecraft legends, which makes sense considering the piglins seem to be the main villains, just like minecraft legends
Yeah
Maybe this movie is supposed to be a prequel to vanilla as well
What's sad is it would be so easy to make a good minecraft movie plot.
Just make steve the last human of a once great civilization where everyone was mysteriously turned to stone (except him). He initially avoids leaving the kingdom due to his fear of the mobs outside, but finally does after seeing a vision of a mysterious black figure (enderman). Seeking the advice from a local witch, he learns that the vision meant that his people were attacked by the evil EnderQueen (ender dragon) and her army of endermen (that's why he saw one in the vision. He is also told that he can save his civilization by destroying the enderqueens egg where she hid the humans souls.
Have steve do the normal minecraft stuff, gradually learning until the nether where he is saved from a ghast by Alex. Whom he develops a friendship with and learns combat from.

(A starving Jack Black breaking down when he finds out he can shuffle a stack of steaks like a deck of cards.) Would have also not sniffed at a totally out of left field apocalypse story explaining where things like zombies came from and why civilization is now only scatter villages and steve and alex.
the sheep is like the original sonic design all over again. have they not learned.
It's funny cause the people who made the movie said that's exectly what they were trying not to do but look where we are
i love how steve is just jack black with a blue shirt on
i hate it
@@WolfHeartMediawell I like it
I hate it. You think that fat old man is anything reminiscent of Steve? No way.
@@whothefrickareyou8106 blindly supporting mid
Ikr... But like why didn't they just get jason momoa to act as steve 😭
They really did just partnered with those "Minecraft but realistic" youtubers back in 2014
Oh god they're Jumanji'ing it
Casting A-list actors serves zero purpose for a movie theoretically targeted at children. It’s going to be another hyperrealistic Sonic situation with a questionable cast and cursed visuals.
And I have a feeling the story line and writing will not be very good either...
Idk Jim Carrey was a great choice for eggman
Having a minecraft movie without the best minecraft influencer is a shame. They could have atleast gave you a cameo in the movie.
this needs the sonic treatment
on god, bro. on god
At least they learned their lesson, minecraft better take notes
It doesn't deserve the Sonic Treatment
I don't think a simple visual overhaul is going to save this uninspired, thing..
It was filmed in New Zealand because we have a large film infrastructure and probably offered the studios grants to do it here, plus salaries are lower. We also have good practical effects studios here.
as much as I don't know who is doing the CGI, WETA is like the biggest cgi company are they not. and they're based in auckland
the movie is crap
“We also have good practical effects studios here”
So… why didn’t they use them? 💀
Dude... you just roasted New Zealand yourself...
@@component9008are the good practical effects from New Zealand in the room with us ?
Why not just do it fully animated? They could do Steve battling the pigs to save villagers and have it end up with him defeating the ender dragon. What makes it complicated is when executives force the movie to be live action
Seriously. Since the first moment I ever heard they were trying to do a live action Minecraft movie I thought the same thing. This could actually be good if it were just an animated film, but trying to incorporate real actors is basically a guarantee that it's going to be terrible.
1:30 wait is that kid holding the tesseract? Kevin Fiege you did it again
I know that’s what I thought
Jason Mamoa is holding it when they meet Steve
To me, the real "Minecraft movie" is all the scrappy, fan made films like the Minecraftian or whatnot from back in the day, or perhaps Minecraft Story Mode. I mean even some lore servers like Mianite or the stories told though music videos like Fallen Kingdom could fill that role. Some corporate crap doesn't represent the true community nature of Minecraft, or at least the Minecraft we all knew and loved from the golden age. The saddest part is apparently there was an earlier iteration under Rob McElhenney (which Antvenom talked about) which actually sounded like it was going to be pretty good and unique. This seems like meme fuel at best...
It's like Clash of Clans designers paired up with ChatGPT
They should’ve made the movie fully animated.
Hey, its called "A Minecraft Movie" for a reason. Technically, it can be a 'live-action adaptation parody w/ a twist' of CaptainSparklez's "Fallen Kingdom" 😎
they are going to pull a sonic and pretent ''they listen to our demands'' ''we heard ya'' and all of you wil fall for it
they wil be making it all animated ( its all allready done ) in the next few months they show it us.
and these people in the trailers are the voice actors
That sheep is Baaaaaad.
This pun is Baaaaaad.
🤣🤣🤣
'What the hell'
Honestly a more apt line I can't think of.
Captain Sparklez should have done the Minecraft movie.
This movie is a lazy adaptation, should’ve been animated and it seems like a good guy vs bad guy movie like and other lazily written generic movie. What this movie should’ve been about is what Minecraft was originally about, the first few days you played, it was quiet, c418’s music was playing in the background, you discovered new items and built weird structures, you explored and found new places like villages, creepy caves, the nether and eventually the End. This movie should’ve had one main character, maybe like an internal study on the life of Steve and his surroundings, similar to that of Castaway, which would’ve been easy as hell to do. But they decided to throw in a bunch of actors for easy humor writing choices. It’s whatever, minecraft the game is still good. (I could still be wrong), but we as an audience are often disappointed nowadays.
Antvenom has a video on it, and apparently there was an earlier iteration under Rob McElhenney which actually sounded really promising. But no, we get this dumpsterfire...
TBH your version sounds really good too, I don't even know how they managed to mess up so bad considering random internet people can come up with more fitting plot ideas...
We just need a Lego Movie, but Minecraft.
a love letter of what makes Minecraft great; the builders, the adventurers, the redstone/command block maniacs, everyone.
And you've gotta throw in a few cameos of each of the Minetubers through the different eras.
Cause otherwise....well, it'll just be another bad VG adaptation and be forgotten a few years from now.
@@StuffandThings_literally if you asked a bunch of kids ideia for a minecraft movie, you would get a better result.
It should have given a sense of the vastness of the infinite world. Love the idea of a single character for most of the movie. Could have tamed a wolf for a companion.
Tapping the sign.....
It CAN'T BE ANIMATED CAUSE ANIMATORS RIGHT NOW ARE ON STRIKE!
3:29 CaptainSparklez: I smell copyright infringement.
legally distinct piglin air forces
they should have summoned animators
Hi guys, I'm gonna start watching CapitainSparklez Minecraft let's play for the first time. I've been playin Minecraft for 14 years, and recently I learned English good enough to understand. I always watched Polish you tubers, but I feel like I'm missing out on a piece of Internet history. I remember watching fallen kingdom music video ages ago, now I actually understand the lyrics :)
Futuristichub helped write the script and it makes a lot of sense considering they copied Futuristichub
Wow surprised to see you here, what’s your thoughts on the trailer? (Big fan, thanks for the childhood if you see this comment)
Lmao 2024 and people are still harassing Futuristichub
Do you have any evidence to back up that claim, that “FuturisticHub” helped write this Minecraft movie?
@@mancerrssCan't trust UA-cam commentors to understand when someone is joking.
Your videos remind me of futuristichub..wait it is you brian
Yes, this trailer has MANY issues, but I think what I'm most disappointed about is the mood of the trailer, and thus the movie.
Minecraft has always had this sort of solemness to it. Unless you're playing multiplayer, you're ALONE. And that's scary for some people, and comforting for others (hence the rise of Herobrine-style creepypastas). I really wish they would lean more into this route, as opposed to the "MINECRAFT IS WEIRD" route. Like, make the movie _just_ about Steve and Alex trying to survive together in the Overworld, and focus more on their relationship and the progress they make, ending with a dragon fight. That's just my opinion though, let me know what you guys think
Yea this just seems like a typical mediocre modern movie.
I agree completely. They didn’t make Minecraft, they made another jumanji movie in a style that they think resembles Minecraft
I said it in another comment but I came up with an idea where Steve and Alex build and maintain a city, and the Arch-Illager comes by and gives them some kind of ultimatum to give up their city, or else he'd take it by force.
Which leads both of them to have to explore to get better materials to protect their city to stave off the invasion and they also have to prevent mass panic of the villagers or something.
The 2 - 3 second clip of crafting told me everything I needed to know about this movie.
Yess I agree with you!
It is just like the Sonic movie. It is terrifying.
At least sonic got fixed, dunno about this one
@@petershirou892 Fair, I doubt they even have the ability to fix what went wrong with this one.
My first thought on the sheep was "Is this gonna be a horror movie?"
They should’ve hired you as one of the directors to make the movie better
