Hi Lee, great vid pal. The stirrup hoe is a great tool for weeding stone chipped areas. The stones pass through the hoe and the bottom of the stirrup cuts through the roots as you move it back and forth.

Thanks for the insight on picking the proper garden tool and taking them to the shed when you're done with them.
I like the long handled small fork/cultivator, great for times when you don't want to walk in the borders. I've got quite handy at popping weeds out with it and flicking them into a bucket

It's amazing how you can go ages without using a certain tool, then when you do start using it you wonder how you ever managed without it 👌

Discovering the 3 pronged cultivator was the best thing to happen to me for border work. Saved my knees and uncle jack some wear and tear.

I use Kent&Stove, like it. I upgraded it for my jobs by attaching plastic pipe 45deg knee on the stick end, now sits in my hand perfectly

I often use the three prong hoe to turn the bark mulch over in shrub beds loosens up the bark and gets underneath and between shubs nicely

That stirrup hoe I call a hula hoe. Keep it sharp with a fine file and it will cut weeds easily. Then a SMALL iron rake anke and it is very easy to clean up without removing soil. That curved cultivator I used as a boy 65 years ago - bit only between the rows in the vegetable garden. In the flower gardens I use a SMALL potato hook - the teeth only go down about two inches while my potato hook will go down about five inches - I use this to break up hard pan now.
Now do a video on shovels. All of mine have ash handles. My beloved grandfather would have me use OOOO stell wool and a mixture of lindseed oil and turpentine at the end of the season. Never used gloves in the spring, never got a blister. I must admit that he had been doing this for more than 30 years, but he was also a great teacher.
And then do a video on rakes. Schneebor makes an iron rake with the teeth set wide apart. Great tool to move mulch.
I like to buy 2nd hand tools. The "old", established designs are the best. The 3pronged cultivator is very popular in Germany. Do not like the exchangeable heads on tools, they are just not as sturdy as a wooden handle and forged metal.

Great little vidieo. I've just bought a Kent Stow 3 edge hoe which i was very sceptical about, but after using for 10 mins im a convert. not sure ill use my dutch hoe again to be hounest
I've not used one but when I'm in the garden centre I always pick one up and think hmmm🤔.....you may have convinced me to get one 😆😆
I prefer individual tools, especially vintage ones, they tend to be better made.
Yes the older a tool is the better the quality. High quality Stainless steel is a waste of time got a complete set two years ago £350 for birthday, too heavy, hard to sharpen with a file. they now hang on the shed wall with two years worth of dust on them.

I have never had much luck with interchangeable tools. Plastic backed spring tine rakes split and the button in the handle breaks.

Only ever used a Dutch hoe but, maybe could use the ‘stirrup’ hoe on my shingle beds when weeds come through? Always learning something. Thanks 👍

i want that cultivator on a pole one i use the hand held version but actually i twist with a fork to break up the soil so you've convinced me to use one ! I always looked at the hoe as another tool in the van I could do without but that 2nd one was so fast. I missed 3 days last week because of the rain did you get to crack on Lee?

The logo is a good thing. The man that has the right to wear that logo is what makes good things happen not the logo.
I Ike the wolf garten tools mainly because I'm 6'2" and I find most handles too short and they stock long handles.
