Back when I was flying I always figured that everything concerned with the airplane costs more and takes longer than you've estimated. I was told the best way to make a small fortune in aviation is to start with a large fortune.
I love this channel! And the fact that your friends and sponsors keep coming back shows what an awesome team you have assembled! Thanks for sharing all your efforts with us!
Oh man, Jason, bummer finding the unexpected issues. I suppose better now than in the air. You got this. 🍻 Cheers to an amazing start to 2024. Be safe everyone and see you all next year.
I also do this maintenance here in Brazil, I think this type of work is very good. I always have my toolbox available for any help. Happy New Year to everyone on your team.
Disappointing that the carb on that left engine threw a wrench in the works but a beautiful example of teamwork by everyone. Brian was a great blessing to have there with you! Love you guys! I have full confidence that this Cougar will be flying soon. Happy New year! God bless!
You will succeed with all of the expert help and advice, Ron is the hero of the day, he seems very knowledgeable about his profession. As always be safe and enjoy some time with your family.
She sounds good can’t wait to see it flying back to the rescue hanger. Amazing work and thanks for the video can’t wait to see what’s in store for 2024. Wishing you all a happy new years and all the best for 2024.
Jason and the whole team, Best in the New Year with all your personal and Team hopes, dreams, and of course Projects. The Cougar will indeed fly and I'd say probably a lit longer and safer that had it been just anyone else given the great support and team. Willing to say, budgets by the very definition are rarely on target. The new electronics alone I'd say will adjust the end bottom line.
Looks like you have another airplane to add to the collection. As others have said, the best way to rid yourself of excess money is to buy an old plane. Happy New Years Jason and the Rescue Crew!
Such a nice aircraft, Usually when you spend more than the budget you get your value by using the aircraft or perhaps leasing it out. The checks and new equipment installed make the plane worth more as well so adjust the end value as well. Seriously Great work guys! Love your videos, Love from South Australia!! 😀👍👍
You guys did some amazing work on this one. It will work out Im sure. Each rescue brings experience and knowledge. My cabinetmaking teacher always knew how to fix mistakes and he said it was because he’d been there done that already. It’s all part of the journey. Happy new year RR
Great update. The landing gear going up & down is oddly satisfying to watch. You'll get her back in the air, even if you are a bit over budget. Happy New Year to you all! Stay safe. See you in 2024. ☮
OK. Your goal to get the plane flying in five days was ambitious given you didn't know ahead of time all the obstacles that would be revealed. You still almost got there which is great. Hopefully the financial logistics are not too burdensome. Good luck!
Just wonderful work by your team Jason with so much accomplished! You busted me up a bit when you said "I'm going to build a strap..." Super cool! For me not so easy but as they say for "those that know, there are no secrets." So with NY's Eve around the corner, to you and the rest of your crew, may it be a healthy, functional year with continued progress amid safety always. I thank you as I've been with you and the 401 since day one, remember when you got the engines running, and then after that, it was bird's nest after bird's nest for what, 6 months, only to discover more in the tail section. Yet you've never given up, knowing there were more challenges forthcoming, wonderful that you are always so optimistic. I'd love to win that beautiful LX Mustang! I have not purchased much merchansise lately but last year did purchase the wireless Bluetooth speakers from Kove, 2 pairs, one for the girlfriend also. They are solid and sound great so gracias Amigo. Perhaps that will allow me to participate in the Mustang draw as I've always loved those Pony cars and yes, that one is indeed quite special! So until next year, may all of your team relax, enjoy the Holiday, and return with the same enthusiasm all of have shown. Feliz Ano Nuevo Amigos!
Hey guys loved the video as usual. Please don’t take to long to get this plane flying. I understand you have a lot of projects going. But it would be nice to see you finish one. I understand you can’t rush these projects. But it would just really be nice to see this one get finished soon. I have been watching you guys from the beginning of the 401 and I can’t wait to see you videos every week. Hopefully you guys had a Marry Christmas. Also have a save and happy New Year. Thanks again for the videos.
Great video Jason! Keep your head up Jason, she will fly again soon.. Most worthwhile projects take longer and are a little more expensive than you first estimate. That is especially true with the work ethic of RR. Happy New Year to you all.

Oh, for the record, I am a huge junky for Rebuild Rescue and I am not even an aircraft tech, pilot or student, but I have learned a lot here, and a little Bf2, jk. I am considering flying lessons when I retire because of your and the entire aviation comradery and community inspirations that I have learned here first! Guys, you all rock and I really appreciate you and the RR mission!
As I've said before.... I love this airplane.... I'm soooooo sorry things have not gone as well as hoped. I know you'll get it all well again and and make money. Deep breath.... all of us can do it.... thank you
Another great video So much incidental information helps to understand what goes into flying a 2 engine airplane. Proud of what you do. Let’s get more young people flying.
Love the ongoing process on your rescue projects. Keep it up guys! Wishing you Jason and your amazing rescue family team a prosperous New year Year filled with loads of great aviation videos. Warmest regards from Copenhagen, Denmark 🇩🇰❤
Jason that is the way of aircraft there is always something more don’t be depressed sooner then you think she will go home keep up the good work see you next time
Well you all give it your best. Better to have all problems solved before going home. I know all work hard . Seems like Joe does more than any body else . You guys all work hard. My hat is off to all of you. Great video.
You know Jason, you could use the Montgomery Scott formula to estimate cost and labor time. Just multiply everything by a factor of 4. That way if you come in under budget and time, you look like a hero! 😊

Darnit!! I was hoping you guys would be coming in UNDER budget. That sucks. Let's just hope that you can get a little more out of the plane when you sell it with all the new avionics.
Jason you are lucky to have great guys around who put up with your shenanigans.. i just hope you don't cost any of these guys their credentials or licenses.. or worse..
Awe fiddle sticks! Well, its better to be safe then sorry. Gas leaks is a bad thing so get the carborator rebuilt & get your calendar set, a new year is coming! Wishing you a happy, successful & exciting New Year in 2024! ❤ God Bless you all!
A great episode guys with engines now running, and I always love a good gear swing video! - The gear worked as quick as I've seen in a Beech Baron (N3175W)! Nearly there, not much to do now. Hey! Remember, it's been sitting lonely for 3-4 years!? What did you expect? - It could have have been full of more crap like the 401, but it wasn't! 😅 Considering that, and its age and all, this Cougar appears to be in pretty good condition. The saga has just been made much worse by the real cost of logistics and travel of it being such a long way from your home base in PA!! I love your projects and work ethic Jason, maybe, you might want to think carefully about reducing the number of non-flying airframes you own , LOL??!! 🤣😅😁 Truely, keep up the great work in 2024. Happy new year! David, in New Zealand.
