    So I dont know how long this video will be public, but I'm allowed to publish it while copyright is still under review.
    If this copyright issue is resolved, I will hopefully bring Part 2 and 3 to you as well.
    Enjoy the video

    The meeting they have with George on the Sunday was apparently very intense, because George just ripped into John and Paul, his feelings about Yoko’s involvement in the group and the whole project and stormed out of the house. John then got really annoyed about what George had said about Yoko and Ringo ended the meeting by saying ‘She’s not a Beatle, John’.

      Lol thanks Glass Onion!
      Truth is, this video went through 8 edits and every single one got blocked world wide, by the final edit there was basically none of the movie in my video, and it STILL got blocked lol.
      But i have a back up plan for that, I always lodge a copyright dispute on the FIRST edit (aka the one with the most footage/audio etc) JUST incase they dont respond within 30 days, because then it can go live (and be monetized)
      So long story short, I havent watched the next episodes yet, because I dont know if I should take the 8+hours per episode to edit them if they cant stay public. And if Apple and Disney are too rigid, then I'd rather watch the next 2 episodes with my Mrs. So everything is on hold at the moment, but I should know on Christmas Day by the looks of things if this video will even be allowed to stay public too.
      It sucks that the Beatles copyright is SO strict compared to other companies out there, but.... they're also the greatest band who ever lived so..... they kind of earned it lol
      But stay tuned because if i can bring parts 2 and 3, i absolutely will :)

    House of the Rising Sun is a very old song, its roots can be traced back as far as 16th century England.

    I could imagine how it was, they have been writing their own songs on their own with very little collaboration, using each other as session musicians when its time to record.
    They no longer traveled or live together, and it's been 3 years since they last played as one cohesive piece (outside of Hey Jude). They formed their individual circles of friends and interests.
    They got used that, and then they are sitting in a room together and have to communicate ideas to each other without stepping on each other. In those years, George has come into his own, but they aren't used to that, so they still treat him as a second tier song writer. It must have been frustrating for George. And you can sense Paul treats him a bit beneath him, like he can't joke with him, or look him in the eyes too long, or dismisses him quicker that he would John.
    John seems to be more receptive to George. And Paul sees this as an opportunity to get back in good with his best friend, which naturally leaves George as the odd man out.
    And Paul is walking a line of wanting to be close to John, but Yoko is in the way, and Paul has to play nice.
    Throw that all in with a place that sounds like shit, and probably doesn't have a good vibe, and it makes for some tension.
    John obviously hits it on the head with George that they allowed a festering wound, which they just made worse. I just wish they did what George suggested and did their solo albums, and came back every once in a while to do more Beatles records.

    I truly believe that the stress of the deadline for TV specials is what created the on screen tension more than their interpersonal relationships. Though of course they did have interpersonal issues.

    Watching the proverbial "fight" scene yet again, I am struck that the interpretation of it is backwards. The movie Let It Be has so conditioned us to view it as George resenting Paul telling him how to play that no one seems to be able to see what is actually going on. What I see here is that Paul is the prickly one and George is trying to placate him. Paul is in a bad mood for some unknown reason and not really listening. He is probably just tired. Each one thinks they're just trying to help the other to "get" the song. George is trying to engage with Paul, but Paul misreads this as annoyance and George is at pains to explain that he can do whatever; it doesn't really matter to him. I also think that Paul is projecting here, b/c he is the one who is annoyed for some reason (look at his body language and compare it to George's -- it is opposite, Paul defensive, George leaning in to engage). I keep seeing versions of this dynamic play out through the doc. George trying to engage with Paul, Paul ignoring him in favour of trying to engage with John etc. I don't see George resenting Paul at all, only resenting the John-Paul dynamic and his exclusion from it.

    By that time, George got tired of being the baby of the family. There was by that time, some hurt and bitterness that never quite left George. He soon made friends with Bob Dylan, and hung out with friends like Eric Clapton, or Klaus Voorman.
    This might make sense to you:
    It was once said that The Beatles were working class lads that were exploited like slaves or servants by the establishment. The class system was still alive and well in a lot of ways. That might explain why they couldn't get great equipment. It does to me. The Beatles knew the game and played it in order to succeed.
    George looked up to John. Somewhere along the way George acted like he didn't need John that much. He made friends with Bob Dylan almost like he was telling John that he's friends with a writer that may better than the great John Lennon. Just my opinion.

    You have to remember their manager just died. Without him no one was leading the charge to get it done. Paul took charge. Without Paul then we would have only the white album and most likely Beatles would have stopped making music together

    To answer your musing... Michael is the director of Let It Be. His vision, or lack of it, is why we're here.
    It really pisses me off, that he is there, but isn't really listening or present. He is bringing biases to the table that he picked up from reading the press about The Beatles instead of paying attention to what is going on. He tries to get Ringo to admit they are breaking up. Ringo says, we're just grumpy. He tries to get George Martin to admit that John and Paul no longer write together, that it's just a copyright arrangement, WHILE JOHN AND PAUL ARE BUSY WRITING TOGETHER RIGHT BEHIND HIM!

    • @AdamfromFWCI
      @AdamfromFWCI  2 роки тому +2

      lmao love your explanation on that!

    • @CraigBickerstaff
      @CraigBickerstaff Рік тому +1

      I think both of you are being pretty dickish about Michael, he is very much listening and present but he has his role in the show and he has to do it. He can't just sit there and fawn and kiss their asses the whole time he's continuously trying to push them so that they don't just stall, break for the day and then drop the project. If you actually pay attention to the film he and Paul are both doing the same thing but there is constant negotiation because we are seeing behind-the-scenes footage which wasn't necessarily intended to be seen. Michael is largely removed from his own film Let it Be and at this point, in the documentary, I think the stuff they were shooting was only meant to be promotional material for the show that Michael keeps talking about.

    Skipping through this, and not allowing it to play the way it was properly edited by Peter Jackson, is like doing a murdering hack job to the documentary.
    Then trying to guess what you're seeing and making off-handed comments, irrelative to the actual music, destroys the way it should really be watched.
    This is not the way Peter Jackson or the Beatles had intended for to be properly presented.
    This is the problem with much of our youth generation today, they sit with remote controls in their hands playing video games, or watching an excessive amount of different TV channels, with remotes, and are never focused on knowing how to understand or absorb what they are watching on a TV screen.

    The whole thing was daft. They just spent months recording the White Album and the thing is riding at the top of the charts and *then* they want to do a television show with *fourteen* completely new songs. And film it. They should have taken six months off and then done a real tour.
