I was raised a Beatles fan and, like you, was super excited after watching this trailer! Your observation that this looks like it will give us a fuller understanding of how they worked as a group is a good one and hopefully spot on. I was also super happy to see Billy Preston show up multiple times. Can't wait for this!
I'm catching all kinds of feels watching that trailer. And I think something unknown is out there in regards to why they broke up. I've heard interviews with George and John, Ringo and Paul talking about their "next" album or project. Speaking in terms of a future project. And they look so productive and animated even if there's some angry bits mixed in there they seemed still like a well functioning band. Just take away the pressure cooker deadlines and it could have lasted longer. I'm a total Beatlehead and get a bit into it once I get started LOL
@@jk4675 Agreed. The Beatles couldn’t have gone on if any of the members quit though, although John initially seemed to find George replaceable. All four of them were The Beatles, three of them would only be three people.
@@jk4675 Yeah I know what you're saying but the interviews John kind references the future. Like why did they bring on Klein if in those days he was basically set on that being the last project? Why?
I'm late 70s kid, I grew up watching Beatles cartoon.. I grew up with music so im indefinitely there. I would love to see documentary of Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson relationship as friends and why it ended after Michael Jackson bought the rights to Beatles catalog. Good trailer review
I would love any and all recommendations for Beatles books/docs to watch in preparation for this! I’ve always been a fan of their music but dont know much of the drama!
Never read them but mark lewisohn’s are highly rated. The Beatles books I loved: Revolution in the Head - Ian MacDonald Magical Mystery Tours - Tony Bramwell
Better yet, go to a channel called "Pop Goes the 60's", Matt Williamson (the host) covers the Get Back/Let It Be sessions quite extensively, using audio evidence to either corroborate or refute the narratives over the years
CHECK OUT THE BEATLES LYRICS BOOK...IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND...BUT I HOPE THE MOVIE HAS GEORGE MARTIN IN IT ...HE REALLY MADE THE BEATLES PRODUCTION GO TO THE NEXT LEVEL IN SGT.
This will be horribly sanitised, all the swear words and cigarettes airbrushed out, all the edges filed smooth for Disney, all going through the Macca revisionist mythbuilding filter, that's fine but give us some truth too
@@markydh83 The original movie was released in mid 1970. I think Michael Lindsay-Hogg cut the film to capitalize on the group breaking up...as if he had the inside scoop. Goeff Emerick said the fighting was worse during The White Album sessions.
@@7Sinai7 they set the bar so high that nobody has been able to touch it. There are alot of great bands like metallica and gnr, ledzep, pink floyd ect, but they have like 7-9 good songs each. I got goosebumps here.. I'm so glad my parents exposed me to their music when I was young, I've just appreciated their songs more and more as I grow older.
Enjoyed your reaction mate. It was exactly how I felt. What a great idea by Peter Jackson to create a narrative from all that footage. 14 songs, 3 weeks, "Let's put on a show"...George: "How many songs have we recorded that are good enough?"...John: "None". Can't wait!!!

And they don't split after this, they split after Abbey Road (post this recordings)... Great movie
Sooo excited to see this! The Beatles was the most played in my family growing up, and I have been a fan like my dad ever since, their music made a huge impact in my life. This one's gonna be awesome!
This is another reason why the Beatles are THE BEATLES... Never mind how the 'Let it Be' sessions ended... ONLY the Beatles would dare challenge themselves to COMPOSE, REHEARSE UP, and RECORD a NEW 14 Song Album, and be ready to play the ENTIRE ALBUM LIVE in ONLY 3(!) WEEKS!! Everybody else is a pretender to the THROWN!!
I a a MASSIVE Beatles fan too!! Have been ever since I heard "I Want to Hold Your Hand" on the radio during Christmas break when I was 16 years old. I saw them in concert in Cleveland in 1964 and 1966. I am 74 now and their music has been the soundtrack of my life, and like your reaction here, I turn back into that 17 year old girl that I was in 1964!! I NEVER EVER TIRE OF THEM!! LOVED your reaction!! YOU are the FIRST reactor I have seen that has shown the same excitement for this as I FEEL. YES YES YES. CAN'T WAIT for Nov 25th!!
You kinda missed one of the most important parts of the trailer, IMHO at 4.00 ..Paul,." We are talking about 14 songs we hope to get. How many have we already recorded good enough ? ". John " None ". ps, Ringo's line " A blast from the past" became the title of his first solo compilation album.
I saw the original let it be film in the theater in roughly 1974. Even then, the footage looked crappy and grainy. That opening shot of Shepperton studios looks beautiful and just on the cusp of HD. Can’t wait to see this documentary series!
Just thought I'd share an opinion as I'm not a Beatles fan at all, just never was my thing, but I recognize they're importance in history. I can't wait for this. I love documentaries and especially ones about pieces of history that I have no knowledge about. It's truly a time traveling window and remarkable when footage this interesting gets the royal treatment. I loved the Ron Howard doc, Eight Days a Week as well. Glad to see your excitement as well John!
Writer Mark Lewsiohn heard all 150 hours of audio and said that he did not hear ONE single row! So where is all the so-called fights so often written about? Whatever major conflicts occurred, I suspect, much of that went on outside the studio. Don't be disappointed if not as much of that is seen onscreen and NOT because of white-washing either.
Hey Rocha, when you get around to reviewing this, could you see doing something with Mantz maybe? The two of you guys are such massive, massive fans and I think it’d be awesome to see you guys bouncing thoughts about it off each other.
I like the trailer, though a slight red flag that this promo begins with the studio version of Don't Let Me Down being put out as being played by the Beatles live. Paul's F-bomb is also scrubbed in the promo released nine months ago. We will see how much is real and how much is not.
Michael Lindsay-Hogg directed his narrative of the footage. Peter Jackson chose a different narrative for the footage therefore he directed this documentary.
......ok.......so I left in a huff before, when I saw you hating on "The Many Saints of Newark".....but I had to forgive you when this video popped up on my UA-cam feed and noticed you were hardcore Beatlefan like me, waiting for this Holly Grail.............and I'm so glad to see more Billy Preston get more of his due. I just got the Get Back book in the mail yesterday, and watched this trailer yesterday too! You bet I'm excited for the documentary. The only sad part is that I doubt very seriously that they will ever release the original Let It Be movie. I have been waiting for that for over 30 years. I don't think it's unknown, Lennon just lost interest in being a Beatle, and since he created the band, once he's gone, there's no Beatles

SOMEONE IS GETTING GIDDY...and I can relate...
Looking forward to seeing the other musicians that helped produce the album. Like Billy Preston and Alan Parsons
Billy Preston is in the trailer, and will almost certainly be a part of the final film. As for Alan Parsons, he was just a studio engineer, IIRC...
