I wanted to duplicate the fun you were having, so I purchased this last evening. I spent this morning watching UA-cam videos on tweaking the system and open XR toolkit settings, Got my system humming along at 50fps in VR ,and decided to try out the new toy. Took off out of Chicago exec and was heading to down town. Decided to just check one thing with open xr pressed F2 and spent 15min messing with it. Then realized the old mantra “fly the plane “. presssed exit from open xr and I was 18000 in some really ugly clouds. OK, no problem fly the plane back to Chicago exec. Set up beautiful trim and circled airport for 30 minutes The plane wants to keep flying, unbelievable visuals out of Bubble roof, mean clouds, rain, and finally airport peaking thru at 5000 ft, did a long forward slip and beautiful approach set that thing down very gently The idiot pilot did not head the warnings of GUMPS . I mean who puts retracts on an ultralight? That was the best 20 dollars I spent in a long time. Great fun.
Great review again AV!!!!! Lovely little aircraft, I fly it's older brother the GotFriends Vertigo which has the same cx3. Your issue with the autopilot not picking up the gps was that you still had vor selected in the compass rose, all you needed to do was click on the rose and it gives you a selection of sources, anyway a fun and delightfully detailed aircraft.
Imagine Yoseite Sam saying "I hates those durned glass cockpits" and you're pretty much in my neck of the woods..........................................
Great review , i like this one and yes my only small issue with this is it can runway from you when taxiing . Other than that it's great , how ever the real world developer might want to think about adding some air brakes as she is slick and fast .
Air brakes isn't needed since 45 deg. flaps brake better than most other airplanes in that category. you only need 300 meter runway and it stops on 150 meter
@@poulstromberg6985 Yes it can land short , in fact its a very capable aircraft . The reason I mentioned air brakes is for aerobatics . It can quickly overspeed even in idle . I'm no expert but in these cases I would have thought air brakes would be better than flaps . Not sure how much stress those flaps would take before flapping off 😂 .
You weren't in GPS, which is why the AP wasn't following it even though you had Nav selected. I can't remember the G3X properly, but I think you can click the HSI to change the modes?
gear down..lol Have to make a comparison to the free Gotgravel Vertigo..performance wise this certainly loses out. but avionics package and overall detail is nice.
I've been waiting for your review of this aircraft. I Had trouble with mine. Could not get it to work with my Honeycomb products (flaps, gear, etc.). This aircraft also had a single power lever that links the throttle and mixture. How did you set that up as well? I'm about to ask for a refund at this point so any help you could provide would be appreciated. ... Jack
Well, well, well! I managed to get the gear and flaps working. Not bad for an old guy (79). I went back to the default settings on both the throttle quadrant and the yoke and that did the trick. Still fighting with the trim though. I changed the settings on the yoke and it seems to be working now. Haven't flight-tested it though. If there is one knock about MSFS is that the trim, whether you use the yoke or quadrant wheel, never responds the same as in a real airplane. I wish they would fix that.
@@AvAngel It's a hit-and-miss for me. It works on one flight just fine and then doesn't on the next. Frustrating! It's such a cool little airplane. Oh Well!
I bought one from the marketplace and many things don't work on it. Landing gear, autopilot, parking brakes, etc... Also it will not recognize my Honeycomb Bravo. Pretty much useless!

Reminds me of the Lancair Legacy. Wish this had some analog guages. I loved this variant in P3D by Realair.
Thanks for checking out!
But honestly, imho: if you own the VL3 (especially with 915 mod) there's no reason to have both :/
I love your channel, keep 'em coming 😊😊❤
OK I'm buying it.
Reminds me of my turbo Velocity with an 800 Horse Power engine ! lol

Oh yes. Great video! Thank you so much.

It works fine for me just using my throttle axis im afraid, not sure whats wrong. I think it does prefer default settings (I use those on mine!)

I can agree there, some weird bits.
Great review!
Looks very nice, i do prefer flying these small light aircraft.
Would buy this if it wasn't for that horrible G3X. It reminds me of the early MSFS days before the avionics were improved.
Is it on the xbox marketplace or is it pc only?
you have a very nice channel... Regards
Thank you very much!

Actually , i've just seen your channel, looks like you're making progress. Well done

I like it a lot, but I have an RV-14. 🫤. I do like it. Thanks for the review!!
Well, I bought it. I could not resist. I like it, except for the tint of the windshield. Other than that, it is as expected. It's quick!
