  • Putting a very reasonably priced Alvarez baritone guitar through its paces. Strung with Pearce light gauge phosphor bronze strings and tuned 2-steps down from standard tuning to C-F-A#-D#-G-C. This is tuned a little higher than typical baritone tuning, but I think they sound much better this way, and the lows still growl at you very nicely indeed!

Damn no comments? The only person to play, really play this guitar on UA-cam. Like and subscribed, excellent video and playing!

Thanks. As a matter of fact it's going up for sale tomorrow. I just don't need it anymore. Alvarez is making great, inexpensive guitars again like they did in the 70's.

Thanks man. I looked at your new one last night. It's really good! How come you turned off comments? Got a troll bugging you? You should try your hand at some mountain music sometime, maybe a Doc Watson tune or something. Your voice would fit that style of music really well.

@@supareelsmusic9415 Actually, I do hope to get to the British Isles one day before i die. I very much want to see the chained library collection at Oxford for one thing and also to have a pint of stout at the Eagle & Child pub (often referred to as the Bird & the Baby) where CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien used to hang out. I'm not joking about you singing mountain music. Listen to this and tell me that wouldn't suit your voice to a T: ua-cam.com/video/Mro-R8LRRj4/v-deo.html

@@wildbillhackett Graceland is a fav of mine ( I remember Paul S singing it ), I will have a listen to a bit more mountain stuff as I think t might give a spark to my songwriting ...all good. I have a friend who lives in Oxford and I'll see if she's ever been to that pub (the fish and chips look great !) it's couple of hundred miles from us so not a quick pint ! But it's a thing to add on the 'bucket list'.

12's but 13's would work better by far for most people.

Sounds thin and tinny. Poor (or no) mic placement.

It's really not a very good sounding guitar but as I said in the video details I'm also using fairly light gauge strings tuned up to C, so that's not helping. Still, I'm trying to sell it.
