Alright, who spilled the beans?! Y'all were told REPEATEDLY not to tell Sean about the baritone guitar, but there's always somebody that can't keep their mouth shut!
😂
It wasn’t me.
@@richardbarbuto7356 Me neither!
I tried distracting him with 7-strings, but someone messed it all up 😂
Sorry, had too much to drink.
Never heard about one until a friend showed me his about 2 years ago. I went straight to the store and bought a PRS 277. Love it.
I first learned about baritone guitars with Mk.Gee recently.
But this Dangelico guitar really is a beauty, I might try to get my hands on one someday, was eyeing a baritone to try to play some of the MkGee stuff, but this one I'm really liking it.
Beautiful on lead as well. Think flugel horn vs trumpet ! I first heard baritone guitar on Miles Davis 'Live around the world' video I saw years ago. Blew my mind !!
I have been using them for like 10 years. Had total thyroidectomy due to cancer and lost my high range in my voice. So I retuned music down to my vocal range and it works. Sometimes 5 sometimes 7 and sometimes 9 half steps down. Transpositor strings on my classical give me all those turnings depending which strings I buy.
It's like a regular guitar finally had its balls drop. Nice sound!
Cool to see you going with D'angelico. I have one of their cheaper guitars, but it's a great player!
They are pretty cool. guitars, popular tunings for the instrument are: a perfect fourth lower than a standard guitar (B1-E2-A2-D3-F♯3-B3), a perfect fifth lower (A1-D2-G2-C3-E3-A3), or a major third lower (C2-F2-B♭2-E♭3-G3-C4). Not big fan but can make some low distored noise! I like them in a cleaner tone setting as a stimulus to new song ideas. And yeah I like to play Glen Campbell style on it. 😂
7:20 I love it! It really is such a cool range, all the notes seem to just work, you can come up with anything
It's so fun!
@@seandaniel23 Hi Man, i got a Dean Rzorbak with Floyd Rose, my scale lenght is 24,75. Wich type of strings do you suggest me for?
I bought a Gretsch Baritone guitar. I plan on using it on future songs. Thanks for the great vid.
They're so cool!
Love how the Baritone sounds and looks.
Hey Sean, just got an 8 string acoustic baritone from Taylor. Holy cow! This thing rocks! Go have a look at one. Cheers from Australia
what is this Halloween Sorcery ?
low B' string , and F#'s ?
tis ANARCHY !
That’s awesome Sean believe it or not, I have never heard of a baritone guitar before.
❤the secret of the shredding. Bass beats and meleody. You can be the whole band!
Phoebe Bridgers plays one sometimes. So does Alan Sparhawk of Low (though less frequently).
i just heard one for the first time last month. too cool!
Sean, when you are playing and appearing to look off into the distance, like at 6:57, for example, are you thinking and if so, what about?
My next build is a baritone or 7 string tele style with a humbucker or PAF at the neck. Denim blue body and gold or black hardware. Blues machine.
You should've demonstrated the guitar with songs with drop tunings.
the sound reminds me of some 90's fav's...Grant Lee Buffalo, Morphine and Hayden
Technically baritones allow for lighter strings for any tuning relative to a shorter scale
You can set up any
Guitar with fatter strings.
Baritones allow you to use the
Lightest possible strings with all the notes spread out further resulting in greater clarity,
It like a capo in reverse.
Also, Madison Cunningham is a baritone player and she’s unreal. The guitar tones on her albums are ridiculously great.
That is a gorgeous guitar. I want a guitar to play with in A Standard tuning. I cannot decide if I should use a guitar with at least a 25.5" scale (or longer) and have it set up for A standard, or if I should just get a baritone guitar. Do you have a suggestion?
Tuned one of my guitar to C standard for some Kyuss/QOTSA stuff and I have been surprised by how nice it sounds for ambiant stuff and ballads
Baritone is more about playing chord shapes higher on the neck and taking advantage of the two low strings to play the bass notes!...good time to learn chord inversions and triads, etc...
Glen Campbell I believe played Galveston and Whitchita Lineman on a baritone.
Ok but could you do a video of standard tuning played with baritone?
Hell ya!! To all of this!! 😎👍
What gauge strings do you use on a baritone? And could you use those on a standard guitar and just tune down, or is scale length too important?
Dave Matthews Some Devil and Stay or Leave... Dave uses a baritone in that tuning.
Know nothing about guitars. Still watching. 😂😍
Thanks for the video about such guitar, what I want the see and learn is how to play a bariton guitar, I mean chord relation to a normal 6 string, how about scale like pentatonic, natural minor and major?? That's why I don't buy one, don't know how hard it is to the new range. Thanks again!
I would like to hear rhythm on the higher strings, like Soul guitar, etc. Is there much tonal difference from a regular guitar?
Can I tune a baritone up to C or C# standard? Thanks!!
I've been wanting to try out a baritone for ages so thank you for this - I play fingerstyle as well and i think a baritone will give do Mitch Muir room for my vocal range. You've totally confirmed my instincts here, really excited to try one now.
Nice I've been thinking about one of these for a while. You probably heard of him already, but if not, check out Ariel Posen's album Mile End for some beautiful baritone noodlings
I told him 2 weeks ago. Had no idea I was not supposed to nor that this was going to happen.
Hope you see this... just got a Baritone yesterday.
On a regular guitar I am pretty strict on my string size. So on a baritone what gauge strings would technically BE 9s?
Like... what gauge would be a baritones 9g relatively speaking?
To have the exact same tension as a 25.5 on a 27, you need 52, 42, 30, 20, 14, 11.5
For a balanced tension set: 56, 42, 30, 20, 16, 12.
you could also try the elixir baritone set: 68, 52, 38, 22, 16, 12 which is considerably higher tension but it works just fine.
I built a Telecaster Baritone, but unfortunately I haven't fixed the grounding problem yet.
Did you ground the bridge? It's the one I sometimes forget to.
Glad you discovered baritones eventually. My Chapman Bea Pro is one of the 3 guitars I'll never sell.
You didn't play Samurai's when you were up there??
Oh that fretless one, right? I did play it but the fact that it's a baritone is like the 3rd weirdest thing about it.
🤣@@seandaniel23
I can understand using it in the studio as another layer but not on it's own. At least not to my ears.
ARIEL POSEN (check out Angeline)
❤❤❤😊😊😊
A ballad style rock song with lyrics, gotta sound awesome with Overdrive?????...🎸🎸🎶🎶🎶🎶😎🆒...✍🏼
Speaking of cool guitars you don't see, please take some of that youtube lute and buy one of these 8 string acoustic baritones so we can live vicariously. ua-cam.com/video/C1OeEoLr8RQ/v-deo.html
Also check out the Gretsch baritone that weighs in with a 30 inch scale length. That's a full 3 inches longer than most and as long as some 4 string bases. It sounds different and tunes down to growl like the bigger man we all wish we were when we buy something like that.
How does this have already have nearly 5k likes and it came out less than 5 mins ago…😂 Awesome content tho! Love your vids! 👏🏼👏🏼
Bush also maby bb king ,. You if you can jam with kurangbin ,😅
Why didn't you ask???? ; )
$2,500.00...just saying!...
aaaaarrrrrrreeeeee aaaaaarrrrrreeeee aaaaaarrrrrreeee wtf
Beautiful guitar, but who has 1,700 to spend?
tipping culture sucks, but i hope you still tip... it's not the servers' faults that tipping culture exists, and stiffing them is a crime against humanity only perpetrated by brick- brains and psychopaths.
That's because baritones are just Bass guitars that sucked at their job and couldn't cut as real guitars.
We didn't think you needed to know!
I've had a baritone for a few years and love it for hybrid picking. I tune to standard A (A-D-G-C-E-A) because I can more easily transfer my standard E tuning fretboard knowledge. Is there an advantage to the standard B tuning that many baritone players seem to use? @seandaniel23
trevor from better call saul?
Ever think of building your own amp Sean?
