  • In my second video, I revisited Fullers Earth Works in Redhill, Surrey.
This place is so run down that security have given up entirely.
Filmed on a DJI phantom 3 Standard.

Thanks for making that video. I worked at Laporte as a loader (locals just called it "the fuller earth") in 1969, when it was bustling. It was great to watch the trucks swooping down the road into the yard; the best drivers could pull an unbroken circle of black tyre mark, and back to the loading dock to the inch. Some good workmates there too. Sad to see it's gone. There used to be fullers earth quarries in the area for 500 years, and the fine clay was what gave "Redhill" its name. Weird stuff. In the USA they call it Bentonite. Vital for sandcasting, for oil well shafts, and funnily enough for make-up foundation powder. Some racehorse trainers bought sacks of fullers earth to use in casts on injured horses! Kitty litter is mostly fullers earth. The extremely porous fine grains can absorb more liquid than any other mineral.

I remember the big concrete chimney which must have been used in a drying process, used to spew thick white smoke and everything in the area had a layer of white dust.
There were dedicated fullers earth sidings a short distance along the Tonbridge line; the unusual hopper wagons would leak enough fine powder to leave the whole area inches deep in spilled white earth.

Drones give new perspectives to abandoned places previously out of reach for the average explorer. Saving and looking forward to my first drone purchase.

If any of you know the game teardown a developer made a model about that and looks very detailed but if you want to download it you can get it in steam and you need a fast PC

It’s been demolished now (2020) shame as I would have liked to have a go at filming the site.

I`m thinking sunday thats today or monday afternoon. I`ve been testing wether my drone can lift not only itself but also one of my old fones with a better cam . It can but not for long about six min tops. Secure site seems to have withdrawn from the site. A friend went and said they just went thru a hole in the fence. Once we are in i have radio jammers if they are there they won`t be chatting on radios thats for sure. I`m 2 stops from redhill ive got the full address
