Переглядів 9 тис.8 років тому
In my second video, I revisited Fullers Earth Works in Redhill, Surrey. This place is so run down that security have given up entirely. Filmed on a DJI phantom 3 Standard. Photos from my previous explores here: www.flickr.com/photos/grahamr123/albums/72157658605164768
Kenley officers mess - After the fire
Переглядів 6928 років тому
This is the aftermath of the damage done by the fire to the officers mess building at Kenley aerodrome. This is the first video I've done with my new DJI phantom 3, so the editing and shots should be a little smoother in my next video once I've had more practice.
breathtakingly beautiful... the men who crafted it would be proud its still standing today, built in only 4 years... carefully and probably close to budget... unlike HS2... They knew how to build things then!
Is it still there? Really want to go
They demolished it now would loved to have visited it myself my great grandfather worked there in late 1920s.
Remember when it was up and running, my grandad was the manager on site.
He might of known my great grandad James Edward Mitchell he worked there.
If any of you know the game teardown a developer made a model about that and looks very detailed but if you want to download it you can get it in steam and you need a fast PC
It’s been demolished now (2020) shame as I would have liked to have a go at filming the site.
Nice choice of track! Bit of the old Boards. Well suited to such sites. Shame that was placed was torched, though not as badly as it seemed.

story homes has just bought this whole site so im going back now i have a phantom. has anyone flown over there before with a phantom whats the gps lock like. i have radios as i know the aerodrome is nearby and they wont be happy if i pop up on radar ive fitted a transponder to mine thinking about long range chainlink at 5.8g so i dont have to be actually in the site
whats the music? Btw love the colour grading on this :)
Thanks for making that video. I worked at Laporte as a loader (locals just called it "the fuller earth") in 1969, when it was bustling. It was great to watch the trucks swooping down the road into the yard; the best drivers could pull an unbroken circle of black tyre mark, and back to the loading dock to the inch. Some good workmates there too. Sad to see it's gone. There used to be fullers earth quarries in the area for 500 years, and the fine clay was what gave "Redhill" its name. Weird stuff. In the USA they call it Bentonite. Vital for sandcasting, for oil well shafts, and funnily enough for make-up foundation powder. Some racehorse trainers bought sacks of fullers earth to use in casts on injured horses! Kitty litter is mostly fullers earth. The extremely porous fine grains can absorb more liquid than any other mineral.
My grandad worked there his name was Henry Mac pherson ,and they lived at Brampton house which is just at the old main entrance where you would have driven into Fuller's earth ,he use to take me over there when it was up and running and all the CAT diggers ,I remember those lorry's that use to drive in pure white with a 🐫 camel on the side ,great memories with nan and grandad 👍 🇬🇧
I remember the big concrete chimney which must have been used in a drying process, used to spew thick white smoke and everything in the area had a layer of white dust. There were dedicated fullers earth sidings a short distance along the Tonbridge line; the unusual hopper wagons would leak enough fine powder to leave the whole area inches deep in spilled white earth.
@@craigjackson3744 my great grandad worked there as well his name was James Edward Mitchell he later worked at Trollope and Colls in Camberley and did concrete elephant there.
back ground music is scary i watched alone
Me and my mates loved going over there about 15 years ago had loads of fun in there
hi mate, whats the address of this place, for some reason im struggling to find it on a map
Hi Gromr I am really wanting to explore I was wondering where abouts is the punch lodge?
I want to know too! He won't tell anyone!
Be there today this afternoon
Its going to get droned again i`m going in the next day or so late afternoon in the hope of some sunset flipping about any one local care to join me in a dronefest ( phantom owner needed)
I`m thinking sunday thats today or monday afternoon. I`ve been testing wether my drone can lift not only itself but also one of my old fones with a better cam . It can but not for long about six min tops. Secure site seems to have withdrawn from the site. A friend went and said they just went thru a hole in the fence. Once we are in i have radio jammers if they are there they won`t be chatting on radios thats for sure. I`m 2 stops from redhill ive got the full address
Omg I remember seeing a drone over my house lol, must've been you guys
I went there the other day and police were there

Nice vid!
Drones give new perspectives to abandoned places previously out of reach for the average explorer. Saving and looking forward to my first drone purchase.
