    Thank you Rob for laid back approach and information smart guard has saved and prolonged my life, I am always on it and has given me the best A1C I have ever had. Just on a personal note my father in-law died of stage 4 bladder cancer and my step father kidney cancer. I feel your pain brother.

    I am approaching the end of my first week on the 770g, first pump for me ever! I've been managing myself for 33 years. Let me tell you, I've had breakdown after breakdown this past week and I feel like I've just been diagnose with diabetes again. This was so helpful, thank you for giving me a bit of peace of mind as I head into automode this weekend. Wish me luck! ✌️

    Thank you I’ve been a type one from age 3 weeks I will be 61 in May it’s been hard getting used to auto mode I’ve been doing this for a very long time and I was used to constantly checking my blood sugar doing everything manually and it’s been a bit of a learning curve you have definitely given me hope that I may actually get control of my diabetes for the first time

    Thank you for your helpful, encouraging and informative videos. They have helped me. I have made the jump to the guardian 3 sensor and it has been a ride and I’m learning a lot. I’m hanging in there. I will start auto-mode soon (I haven’t had training on it but reading up on it and learning a lot. Thanks!

      If you are using the MiniMed 780G system you can set your BG target to 100 mg/dl

    T1D for 37 years, Medtronic pumps for 20 years, just upgraded 630G to 770G. You sold the smartgaurd pretty hard, but in an informative way, so thanks! Question, though: you say you use smart guard 90% of the time. What are the tines/circumstances within which you wouldn't use smartguard?

      Good question Aaron! The 10% I’m out of auto mode is usually just because I’m changing sensors or taking a couple days in between sensor changes. It’s not very scientific, but I sometimes just don’t feel like changing the sensor right away lol

    I tried the 780 G system for 2 months-( long enough for the 780 systems to know my algorithms I think ?? ) I still wonder if I could set the smart guard with a low of 80mg/dl to a high of 100mg/dl. ?? I am a female on the petite side.

      The lowest glucose target you can set on the 780G system is 100 mg/dl

    Hi, I am outside the states in the Middle East, my friend send me his 770G because he got another brand pump. The question is how to reset all the pump data for the Auto guard? Second question when do you thing the FDA will allow the software update to be 780 ?

    O would like know about smart. Do you turn on smart after First calibration?Can I trust this first calibration?

    Hi Rob
    I just watched your video.
    I’ve been on the 780G for a few months now. It works great with my low sugars, but it seems like it takes a very long time to get my blood sugars in range if they are in the 200+ range.
    I would switch to manual mode to give more insulin, but my doctor explained that doing that messes with the pump’s algorithm.
    How do you handle it when blood sugars don’t go below the 200 range, using auto mode?

    • @DiabeticsDoingThings
      @DiabeticsDoingThings  10 місяців тому

      Hey Karen! Yes, I think the system is much more adept at limiting hypoglycemia than hyperglycemia, but I think the two are related. Do you have your SmartGuard target set to 100 mg/dl? Your doctor is right, ghost bolusing can affect the algorithm - how much time are you giving yourself for a pre-bolus at mealtime? I find that to be a really important variable. Do you also see the system giving you auto correction boluses? I find that these often reflect the same corrections I would give manually. Let me know if this helps!

    • @karensandberg124

      I probably do need to bolus sooner than I have been.
      I feel like the correction bolus is smaller increments than what I would give. An example is the other day, my blood sugar was 375 because I had changed my infusion and it wasn’t working correctly. I didn’t get an alarm and the correction from auto mode was less than 1 unit.
      I guess I’m still on a learning curve, but I think it will get better when I get my order of extended wear infusion sets, and I can quit using Quick Sets.
      Thanks for replying.
      Karen

    How frequently does the 770g request a BG reading on Auto Mode vs when Auto mode is not on?

    • @DiabeticsDoingThings
      @DiabeticsDoingThings  2 роки тому +1

      I don’t really have an answer for you. Calibrations are minimum twice daily on automode, and maybe 2-3 enter bgs on bad days. But I rarely used the sensor without auto mode so I can’t answer your question precisely
