I used to hate laundry and still have nightmares about my parents sending me down to the spider and snake basement where the washer and dryer lived to do lots of laundry. Ever since I moved out, 30 years ago, I always do one load of wash a day so it never piles up in a light and airy laundry room.

Looks much better Coline. My kids are grown. I have some healthe issues. I have 3 girls. One does laudry for me, one vacuums and the other mows the lawn. I'm very blessed.

Great job! Now it will be easier for the mom to declutter some of the clothes and textiles so they are easier to manage. I think she could also benefit from a better setup with a table to fold or put clean laundry away and a good system for the whole family to sort and do the laundry. Kids can help with laundry from a young age - even if it's just sorting socks and putting away their own laundry. Hope she feels better soon and gets some her-time as well!

I have always loved doing laundry. I guess I just do it q load at a time. Wash,dry,fold and put away then it's not overwhelming.

I don't mind doing laundry at all. I just place the clothes or sheets and towels in the washing machine, chuck in the washing powder and enjoy the smell of it, shut the lid and let the machine do it. It's not like the old days where women slaved over a boiling copper or had to use a wringer washer. Then I put them in the laundry basket and go outside to hang them on the clothesline. Most people here in New Zealand still use a line I would say. I love feeling the sun, listening to the birds, and pegging everything up. I have the basket on an outdoor table so I don't keep bending down and it's done in just a few minutes. I do have a dryer but electricity is expensive so I like using the sun and wind, haha. A few hours later I unpeg the washing and bring it in. Sometimes I'm a bit slack about folding it straight away, but to be honest it's not that hard a job. I used to nanny for a family and they had a lot of laundry, but I just folded it and put it in piles for each family member and a separate pile for towels and sheets and did it! Having music on or an interesting TV program on in the background definitely helps! I got so fast at folding neatly! Even fitted sheets, hahahaha. The look and smell of lovely clean washing is so satisfying too. 😊

I don’t like subscriptions of any kind and I’ve got a decent cd collection where most of them were only $1.

I used to hate doing laundry, but since I have to do it anyway...I tried to like it. Trying new detergents, with nice scents....I now almost like it :)

Hi, Coline, I do love your funny songs! I actually don't mind doing laundry and I only do it once a week. I used to have a dryer but sold it to a friend. I hang my washing on the line inside out so the colours don't fade. A good tip is to peg tops and shirts under the arm pit area! Thanks, Coline!

Well, this lady doesn't have to worry about doing laundry for another 10 years by looking at all the clothes, bedding, rugs, etc.
What a mountain of laundry! They might want to consider paring down the wardrobe a bit...if you have fewer clothes it's easier to manage them.
That’s my limit laundry basket. That’s very helpful for me. It’s works. I don’t have wardrobe. Only drawer basket from Amazon cheap but good size strong.

Your laundry songs made me laugh 😅. I don't mind doing laundry. I love seeing it drying outside on the line. My achilles heel is putting the dry stuff away. Sometimes I can have 3-4 loads to put away and that can feel daunting 🙈. But once I get going it's not as bad as it first seems. I start with the big stuff like towels and bedding and that can make it look half as much is there. I can definitely empathise with this mum. It's a lovely space up there but I know first hand how a spare room can turn into a dumping ground. Great job between the two of you ❤
Aaaaw thank you for your understanding. Once it's sunny out, it all dries so much faster. The hard part for me is, when all the racks are full of wet laundry, and I still need to hang some more 😊
I had a good laugh at the laundry songs! I wish you could do a cleaning with Mack from Midwest Magic Cleaning. You could sing and he would do funny moose voices. You make cleaning fun.

She needs to get rid of a lot of stuff. What’s with all the throws and pillows? She could sell some things or give it away to charity. It does look better but all the stuff is still there.
She actually donated three huge trash bags (the ones you put in big containers). I am so proud of her 💪🩵

I dont have any wasching machines in my apartment I have to go to the basement and book a time. The laundryrooms there are really nice and clean with new machines I can do alot laundry a alot in 4 hours. I live on the 1st floor so it's easy for me. Then I hung up and put away all the laundry,, so I dont have to see it.
The best thing is to just have a few things that you can wear and really like ,,,include towels, beddings, and shoes. It is freedom to have less,,and laundry goes easy peasy. Im sorting my clothes, selling to vinted, throwing them away and giving them away. Now I buy nice clothes that I really love and they fit perfect ...on vinted. It is a happy circle. Im also sorting my books and other things to sell on VINTED. You let in fresch air and space into your home,,,so you can clean easier,,and really enjoy your home.
Also it gets your home-energy flowing and lets good vibes in ,,,so you sleep and feel better and it makes you want to take care of yourself and you get alot more energy.🧡💛💚💙💜
That saying is sooo true! "It's freedom to own less!" It's much easier to keep up with chores when all clothes actually fit in the closet(s). 💪
