The social worker could make arrangements for the client and the dog to go some where.

That was such an excellent cleaning but such a shame the person you were there to help caused you so much stress. The social worker definitely should have provided you with more support by helping Mark to leave safely with his dog so you could feel safe while working there.

Oh no way! Please never stay alone with a strange man. Especially a drunk. I also worry that the dog had no water. 😮

You did a great job, but sorry you were placed in an unsafe situation. You handled yourself very well. The others here are correct in saying you should let the social worker know. You should also have an emergency contact you can call if you ever find yourself feeling unsafe. You are doing such a kind service for people in need, and your compassion is commendable, but helping those with mental issues and addiction problems can place you in difficult situations. Better to be safe and have a plan for these scenarios
