You said the taxes in Texas were 1.79? That is extremely high compared to most states. For some reason I thought in Texas it used to be 1.1.

It varies by city/county/water utility/school district. Austin and suburbs tend to be higher.

Texas has no state income tax which is why the property tax is higher. Because of this, the state relies more heavily on property taxes to pay for government services. 1.79 in these suburbs of Austin are a lot lower than surrounding neighborhoods. Hope this helps!

That is why it says “Near Austin Texas” in the title. Georgetown is a suburb of Austin. The reason I say near is because people from out of state might not know exactly where Georgetown is in Texas. Hope this helps!
