First off I got my scuf vantage wireless about 2 months ago. I do believe they fixed the button lag before I got mine because even wirelessly it is pretty quick to respond. Personally I don't know why anyone would want the c40 over the vantage. C40 costs $200 and what do you get for it...you can choose if you want your left thumb stick to be like a ps controller or like an Xbox controller and you get 2 programmable buttons and thats it. The scuff costs the same and you get 6 programmable buttons and to change the thumb sticks etc requires no tools like the c40 does.
Im my opinion the strike pack has made the c40 pointless, i like astro im curious about the controller but i could never like it, the strike pack is actually a beast
I’ve been though three, yes three, vantages. I’ve returned them every time and finally got my money back. I used that money to purchase a c40 and it hasn’t let me down a bit.
Ive had the raiju ultimate, tournament, the nacon pro , scuf infinity and impact. Lost so much money on these controllers , so im a bit scared to buy the astro one. Should i go for the astro or just keep my money and buy the dualshit?
@@swaezipyt7040 you should get the astro bro, i have owned a majority of controllers and this one makes them look inferior. You can but new sticks,d-pads etc for cheap.you literally will have this for life. Just my opinion though my dude
Save your money and get yourself the C40. Scuf is outplayed and the material they put into their controllers are cheap and break easily. Take it from a scuf owner.
The Astro C40 has a better build quality, obviously but you primarily you buy a Pro controller for performance. Build quality comes 2nd. The Scuf Vantage has the Astro C40 beat in performance. 6 reprogrammable buttons vs Astro C40's 2. I know you can reprogram the face buttons, triggers, dpad and etc on the C40 but that can be potentially confusing. So pretty sure not everyone will utilize that feature. I don't know why but from my experience, I aim better with my Vantage vs me using my friend's C40. I do like the built in equalizer in the C40 but I have a dedicated surround sound headset for that. Don't know why anyone would use 2.0 ch stereo if you bought a pro controller to be competitive and meaning you would have a surround sound headset too, to go along with your pro controller.
So if you are talkin performance, C40 beats Vantage on latency. Which is top priority. Whats confusing about going into some software and making a few clicks to remap the buttons? Its simple af. C40 > vantage all day.
@@InebriHATED Latency on the vantage and C40 on wired are the same. The Vantage has more lag in Bluetooth wireless mode vs the 2.4ghz wireless on the C40. And your right about latency being top priority in which case a controller should be wired to begin with. Idk why but my aim is better on the Vantage and my aim potatoes on the C40.
I like extra paddles all day on the vantage plus the battery life was an unexpected pleasent suprise, i never worry about it dying like twice the life of the regular controller or more
Well C40 sticks can be modified or replaced for $20. What do you do when your scuf vantage sticks stop working properly. That's the real performance of C40 built to last.
Be careful gents. I've been using a Vantage since November. Had some issues initially. They put out a update mid December that resolved 100% of the issues for me. I own 2 of them now. I've been using the Astro for 1 week now. It definitely feels more premium than the Vantage, but I'ma keep it real. 2 paddles vs 4 and the Vantage also has 2 more additional triggers. You can't downgrade from that back to 2. Just can't do it. Astro missed a huge opportunity with that. Evil Controllers, Battle Beavers and Aim Controlers all offer 4 paddles / buttons. I put in probably a good 8 hours alone just messing with the Astro sensitivity software and range of motivation on the triggers and stick tension. It's a great controller but it's just not there yet. I really wanted this to be my new fighting game controller and use my Vantage for everything else. I'll be returning it and watching for future software updates that might make a difference. I'll most likely be waiting for a 2nd generation model that hopefully has 4 programmable buttons / paddles. That will probably be for PS5 since we're already getting close to the end of the life span of the PS4. I personally still believe that either a Evil Controller or a Scuf Vantage is the way to go. Best advice I can give you is don't listen to reviews. Go out and try whatever your interested in and take advantage of the return policy if it doesn't work out to your liking. No offense to the reviewer but, no way he used this controler long enough to really have a more valid opinion. I feel like a lot of reviewers are hyping up the controller for views and not truly using it as a daily driver before forming an opinion.
I have the scuf vantage and I agree with everything you said. I was thinking about returning it to get the c40 but I’ve gotten so used to 4 paddles and the sax buttons to the point where I would feel very uncomfortable going to only 2 paddles. So I decided to stick with the vantage controller.
Would the Scuf Vantage have any effect when playing Nba 2k? You seem like you know wat you talkin about and I really been thinking about that controller
I agree i only have the scuff vantage, got it from the start and went through all its head aches. But now its a beast that does it all, c40 is probably the most durable controller you can buy im sure, but scuff customer suport didnt let me down and they have now delivered on a now great controller with customization like the elite, i would concider the c40 if it had 4 paddles but i love my vantage, people need to actually really give any controller they try a chance before ripping on it, expecially the vantage.
I ac got a chance to play with the Astro c40 the other day. It feels so good in hands. Even better then my scuf impact. I'll be definitely getting ome soon.
I’ve had both controllers. And while I like both, I like the Astro alot better. It does feel more premium with the soft rubberized coating, and rubber grips. I had the wired/wireless scuf, and it pretty much was unplayable on wireless mode. Too much latency, compared to the Astro. The Astro felt pretty much the same on wired or wireless mode, and I prefer to play wireless, because I don’t like cables, even though I know wired is better. But I do miss a few more extra buttons that the Scuf offers.
The Xbox One Elite controller I use with my PC is probably the best feeling controller I have ever used. I may buy the adapter that allows me to use it with my PS4 Pro and skip buying yet another controller.
@@Digital_504 You can get a Brooks adapter that lets you use it wireless on PS4. I use an Xbox Elite controller with my PS4 Pro and it works flawlessly. The adapter is around $45-$50.
I’ve never used a scuf and I’d never pay the price of these controllers new. However, I did recently see the Astro at a local pawn shop for $150 (Canadian) its $269+tax here new. I was selling some used blurays and the clerk offered the Astro straight up trade. I bit and I have to say, it’s a darn nice controller. The fit in my hands is perfect. I like the way the triggers are slightly angled and the back buttons are in the perfect position for my middle fingers. It was basically brand new and came with everything in the original box. Setup was simple and I’m really enjoying using it. I do find it odd that none of these 3rd party controllers won’t turn the PS4 off but that’s not a massive deal really.
I like that he actually chose a side this time. I have both, after using both for a while, I decided to go back to the scuff. I felt like it is better for RB6 or games where you need to keep your thumbs on the sticks and have access to as many gadgets while aiming down sights that you can. I also find that you can get the same software effect by manipulating in game settings with the Scuf. All in all, both are great, it's just difficult to go from 6 paddles to only having 2. Also, stick drift is an issue on the C40. Scuf resolved this issue in 1.1 firmware update. C40 is better for wireless play.
Only 2 outta 3 of those need to change for stick placement, but that’s a game changer. I can’t get over how loose the Astro sticks are, that it doesn’t power on/off the PS4 & why a dongle! Like he said, if you’re worried about speed wired is the way to go anyhow. This late I really hope it’s PS5 compatible, that’d be awesome.
Obi Wan Kenobi I’ve had it for at least 6 months it’s been great for me and having a software to check your control re maps or to re calibrate a stick drift dead slides at anytime is great to top it off if anything goes wrong for you they have a support that just needs ur controller serial code and a picture of ur problem for them to send you a free replacement of your issue like a analog stick for example . You can also move around the modules cause why not
To anyone wondering how the transition from a ds4 or xbox controller to the astro c40 ill be the first to tell you, i own all types of different controllers from xbox Elite, ps4 scuff, Nintendo switch pro controller as well as mouse and keyboard, switching to c40 is by far the most seamless transition and most comfortable option on the market right now, since im a long time Playstation player the symmetrical thumb-sticks are sooo far planted into my muscle memory i find myself performing better with the c40 than even mouse and keyboard, 100% the best option for a Ps4/Pc hybrid player 💯💯💯💯
Only thing holding me back is only having 2 back buttons. I've been using an Xbox Elite controller on my PS4 and have gotten used to having the 4 back paddles and they're easy to use. Controller feels a little small for my hands though, so a larger controller sounds wonderful. There's a new Nacon Unlimited Pro 2 (or something like that) coming out soon that also looks good, so I may choose between that and the C40 and just use my elite for PC and Switch (have an 8bitdo adapter for switch).
Jtc9611 chriopez Is astro c40 feels big in hands than scuf impact or scuf vantage, I mean is the c40 feel good in hand and fits better? Amr tawfik although the c40 looks bigger, the back of the controller where your fingers rest is actually pretty similar to the normal ps4 controller, the dimensions as far as button placement and thumb-stick separation feels very natural and yes i definitely feel and improvement in fps games with this controller.
I’ve had my vantage replaced 3 times now for the same problems. My experiences with Scufs are they are cheaply made and never last. My experience with Astro products have been nothing but great. I just got my C40. Hopefully it is the same.
had to send the vantage back after during the first week I had it, not worth it in my opinion, software and hardware issues, not comfortable to my hands either probably b/c I've only used ps4 controllers my whole life, I sent in a controller to Aim just for re map paddles, so far so good
Just got an Astro but catch myself accidently using the extra mapped buttons underneath. Decided to look at Scuff, saw this vid and comments....will keep Astro and relearn my hand muscle memory..Cheers
I have both the scuf and Astro. Astro by is my favorite controller but after 2 months i got some serious analog drift making certain moves very hard to do. Even after reseating, resetting and recalibrating the modules. Even updating the firmware, I still get analog drift. I moved back to my scuf to see what it felt like again, and it’s much snappier, my movements were much sharper. Someone should do a test on input lag on both controllers. I feel like the scuf wins out in that area hands down. Overall you can’t go wrong with both, I’m waiting for the astro to restock their modules so I can order a new set.
The modular thumbsticks are a huge advantage for the astros. I have a scuf and after less than a year of use the L3 no longer works which is essential for fps. It constantly stops and goes and is super annoying. I plan to buy an Astro controller in the future
sorry if you are making a Video about the best pro controller for PS4 you need to Run 6 different controllers; Nacon Revolution Unlimited Pro/Razer Raiju Ultimate/ Astro C40 TR/Scuf Vantage/ PS4 gen 2 Controller with attachable mods (collective mind FPS Strike pack paddles and other accessories to make a normal controller emulate a pro controller)/ and finally the Brook X One adapter with either the XBox One Elite Controller or a 2nd Gen Xbox One controller with the Bionik quickshot mod. Then what you would do is compare Comfort/ Pricing/ usability (if they can play with other platforms as most gamers have more than one gaming consoles)/ performance/customization/ and finally if any of them are future proof since the PS5 is around the corner in a year or so. That would be a great video
Great video. I'm on my second Scuff but haven't got the Advantage model. Would love to demo these both somewhere before choosing yet my current Scuff is still kicking so I'm in no hurry.
I have that too, but I have a problem with it, when I bought it, it was working great, but after 3 months, the strikepack kept on disconnecting every 3-5 minutes, and it's frustrating, if you had that problem and know how to fix it, just let me know, and thank you
And its durable, i sometimes rage and let my controller slip out my hands and the strike pack does not break it safely pops off, its actually impressive the controller breaks before the strike pack, but now i have the vantage for more paddles
when i bought my SCUFF Vantage when it first came out it was not PC compatible and was a HUGE blow if you want to use a controller on PC. I bought it for $200 fully expecting it to be able to plug into my USB port and work and did not.
I'm sure the C40 has better build quality than the Scuff, but they really disappointed me with only putting 2 buttons. I can't go back to having that much less. If it was even 4, I probably would get it. I was really interested in it too.
I dig the C40, but why on earth they only went with 2 back buttons is beyond me. I had the drift issue on my Scuf, but they replaced it with a brand new one free of charge. Sticking with the Scuf.
I loved my Astro for four days before the left stick started going out already. I'ts now been returned back to Amazon. I had high hopes, but thats a bad start considering I only used it for about 12 hours.

People have also been complaining about the deadzones on the scuff, and some noticeable input lag. I'm trying to choose between the two and every review I've watch chose the c40. Maybe. Next time I get paid I'll pick one up for myself
To be honest the scuff was why cooler and eqsier to change all the assesories but if you are a real gamer who want to buy a controler that work the c40 is better not only it feels like a dualshock on the deadzone but also it was made to play comforble and not woth a lot of extra bottons that we dont need
I’ve had the vantage for 6 months now. It’s had stick drift but with recent update it seems to be fixed. Wireless mode has lag and it is very noticeable in shooters. I use it wired at all times. Also with the 4 paddles in the back I use all of them but I don’t use the side buttons they seem hard to press so I never bother. It’s a great controller. Downsides include - input lag - cheapy feel - loose trigger stops in some models. Good things - all the button options - no more stick drift - customization
EnlightenPanda I purchased both the Astro C40 tr and SCUF Vantage To me personally I prefer the Astro C40 Tr because of the fact that it feels well built compare to the scuf I had my scuf break on me after a couple of months the drifting on the left analog stick and one of the back paddles snapped .. sent in for repairs horrible customer service on scuf behalf .. but c40 if you’re used to bigger controllers like the Xbox one elite controller then you would like the Astro definitely recommended
This is a badass controller just don’t like the fact that is PlayStation approved but still requires a sub transmitter and it doesn’t power on the PS4 like regular controllers you would have to physically press the power button on your ps4
I've replaced my vantage 3 times before I finally returned it. Stick drift started after just a couple weeks of playing every time I got a replacement. Highly considering this c40. I just hope its ps5 compatible.
The Vantage is a useless brick. Literally the worst controller I have ever came in contact with. I have more faith in my 30 year old NES controller that’s been in my attic for 7 years than I do a brand new Scuff Vantage

Astro, but if you want a scuf, get a newer one online because the 1st couple of scuf's that were made were very faulty ex: stick drifting constantly, Fragile trigger hairs that break off easily, Not tight sax buttons(side buttons) and very sensitive audio touchbar(My audio touch bar got muted and it won't unmute for no reason) So I think your best bet is Astro, trust me I own both controllers for the same exact time period

I'm really interest in the response delay from the controller to the ps4. I have an older scuf and it feels to have less of a response than the Astros wired. My character seems to react quicker to my scuf than astro. I'm curious if I'm just use to my scuf and the astro has better or worse response... thanks
I bought the C40, and I definitely prefer parallel for shooters. I found that when it's in the offset position, I was a little more likely to accidentally press the left trigger. This is especially important if you are using the trigger stops and an early actuation point for the triggers (Which you should be for this sort of game). I hope this helped, but be sure to play around with it yourself if you plan to get it, or already have this controller, as everyone is different.

@Andiez Nutz it probably will because unless if they change the USB shape in the PS5 the wired or wireless USB will still connect, unless the C40 is exclusive to the PS4, but I dont know if it states it on the box, because the only thing I see is a Playstation Licensed Sticker, not a PS4 Licensed Sticker so It probably will work on the PS5, But we'll have to wait and see.

Yea I had a scuf impact it sucked
Are any scuf controllers worth it?
Zach Hofmann no there is not
Scuff is cheap paddles where fucked within 2 months and microphones jack never worked
@@myles3057 yes there are just stop dropping ur controller idiot
Been waiting for a video comparing these 2
Be careful gents.
This is how I know you haven’t owned a scuf vantage, there is absolutely no latency on wired or wireless and there are rubberized grips on them lol
The Xbox One Elite controller I use with my PC is probably the best feeling controller I have ever used. I may buy the adapter that allows me to use it with my PS4 Pro and skip buying yet another controller.
Flying with Murph try the cronus max. Is what I did
@@ZombieAirBlader can it be wireless when using it with the cronus?
Andy no bro, it has to be all wired
@@Digital_504 You can get a Brooks adapter that lets you use it wireless on PS4. I use an Xbox Elite controller with my PS4 Pro and it works flawlessly. The adapter is around $45-$50.
Himura82 and do I also need the Cronus? Sorry for the noob questions lol
The nice thing about the Astro is that it’s easier to get your hands on than the scuf. I saw an Astro at Best Buy the other day for like 80 bucks.
bmtten I hope you bought it because it goes for more than that.
Why his side burns look like a bar graph 😂😂🥶
Your that type of guy ew just ew
I say get the Astro c40 it’s really good trust me I have one.
How’s it holding up?
mrslapside u ever buy it?
How when ur old? No affense
You can also move around the modules cause why not
I bought the C40 TR. I am impressed. I like the software for customization and am happy without the overcrowded amount of buttons the Scuf has.
My C40 messed up right after one match of modern warfare. The sticks wont move and the left stick just goes to the right
To anyone wondering how the transition from a ds4 or xbox controller to the astro c40 ill be the first to tell you, i own all types of different controllers from xbox Elite, ps4 scuff, Nintendo switch pro controller as well as mouse and keyboard, switching to c40 is by far the most seamless transition and most comfortable option on the market right now, since im a long time Playstation player the symmetrical thumb-sticks are sooo far planted into my muscle memory i find myself performing better with the c40 than even mouse and keyboard, 100% the best option for a Ps4/Pc hybrid player 💯💯💯💯
(Answer plz cause am confused between c40 and impact) btw I play siege and I take it serious so tell me your opinions playing c40 on fps games does it made you better or anything?
Amr tawfik although the c40 looks bigger, the back of the controller where your fingers rest is actually pretty similar to the normal ps4 controller, the dimensions as far as button placement and thumb-stick separation feels very natural and yes i definitely feel and improvement in fps games with this controller.
Jtc9611 Thank you so much!
Did this man just say anti clockwise lol
I’ve had my vantage replaced 3 times now for the same problems. My experiences with Scufs are they are cheaply made and never last. My experience with Astro products have been nothing but great. I just got my C40. Hopefully it is the same.
Had the same issues with Scuf hoping the Astro I orderd yesterday will be great!
had to send the vantage back after during the first week I had it, not worth it in my opinion, software and hardware issues, not comfortable to my hands either probably b/c I've only used ps4 controllers my whole life, I sent in a controller to Aim just for re map paddles, so far so good
How is the durability of the Astro C40 now that you've had it for a while?
I want a c40... but may only get a year out if it before the ps5.
It’ll be usable for ps5 also 👍
The modular thumbsticks are a huge advantage for the astros. I have a scuf and after less than a year of use the L3 no longer works which is essential for fps. It constantly stops and goes and is super annoying. I plan to buy an Astro controller in the future
Ergonomically better? Most people are saying it's bulky and large and it takes some time getting used to it.
I like the C40 but only two back inputs! What are we back in 2015?
At the end he said dickhead lol
sorry if you are making a Video about the best pro controller for PS4 you need to Run 6 different controllers; Nacon Revolution Unlimited Pro/Razer Raiju Ultimate/ Astro C40 TR/Scuf Vantage/ PS4 gen 2 Controller with attachable mods (collective mind FPS Strike pack paddles and other accessories to make a normal controller emulate a pro controller)/ and finally the Brook X One adapter with either the XBox One Elite Controller or a 2nd Gen Xbox One controller with the Bionik quickshot mod.
Awesome comparison! Thank you!
The scuf is amazing I've been using it and have had no issues
I remember I was gonna break my wallet and buy a scuf, till I found out about a StrikerPack for PS4 :D,paddles for $40 and I’ve had them for a year
I have that too, but I have a problem with it, when I bought it, it was working great, but after 3 months, the strikepack kept on disconnecting every 3-5 minutes, and it's frustrating, if you had that problem and know how to fix it, just let me know, and thank you
@@Tony21311 gotta reflash it. Hold both back buttons when you plug it in. Itll wipe it out. Then redownload version 2.0.
And its durable, i sometimes rage and let my controller slip out my hands and the strike pack does not break it safely pops off, its actually impressive the controller breaks before the strike pack, but now i have the vantage for more paddles
I've had the strikepack for over a year now and it hasn't broke yet and doesn't disconnect but I just ordered the Astro because it's on sale.
lookin' good waj. great content as well :D
Would you be able to use the C40 on the ps5?
if you want the best controller i would recommend looking into the battle beaver controller
when i bought my SCUFF Vantage when it first came out it was not PC compatible and was a HUGE blow if you want to use a controller on PC. I bought it for $200 fully expecting it to be able to plug into my USB port and work and did not.
Well you should’ve waited cause it works now
All good, I got my money back from scuf
I'm sure the C40 has better build quality than the Scuff, but they really disappointed me with only putting 2 buttons. I can't go back to having that much less. If it was even 4, I probably would get it. I was really interested in it too.
I recommend to buy the Astro c40 because it gives you less problems and is better material
Callandor99 could’ve been software adjustment problems, either way you should be buying from Best Buy with their $30 2 year warranty.
@@Kospanic It wasn't the software, I already tried using it and it would zero out no matter what I tried. I don't shop at best buy and its a none issue because Amazon gave me a full refund already.
I have both, but I like c40 is just feel great in the hand
Alvaro Pizano not to be rude but show off (thank for the tip by the way)
Though really thank you
Similar situation for me but the Vantage feels better in my hand. The Astro definitely feels better made.

Can u pop Kontrol Freeks on the Astro like u can the Scuf?
How’s the stick tension? How does it compare to the elite series 2 and other controlers?
I have the vantage and I hate how tough the back paddles are to press compared to my Xbox elite controller. How do the paddles on the Astro compare?
I have the scut vantage and Astro C40. I prefer the Astro by far.
Finally someone with an "Ultimate" mindset if you know what I mean. Not some dolt who forgets details and other things. I wanted to know whats better and thank you you made it simple. Any other video belongs to a dumb PS4 new gen.
Can you play them with a mobile phone ?
That Mesa boogie in the back is more interesting
Downsides include
- input lag
- cheapy feel
- loose trigger stops in some models.
Good things
- all the button options
- no more stick drift
- customization
The vantage is cool but Astro has quality and SCUF doesn’t I have the Astro it’s comfortable and has no problems so far
EnlightenPanda I purchased both the Astro C40 tr and SCUF Vantage To me personally I prefer the Astro C40 Tr because of the fact that it feels well built compare to the scuf I had my scuf break on me after a couple of months the drifting on the left analog stick and one of the back paddles snapped .. sent in for repairs horrible customer service on scuf behalf .. but c40 if you’re used to bigger controllers like the Xbox one elite controller then you would like the Astro definitely recommended
bryn4s the Astro does feel well built doesn’t feel like anything will will break on you over time
This is a badass controller just don’t like the fact that is PlayStation approved but still requires a sub transmitter and it doesn’t power on the PS4 like regular controllers you would have to physically press the power button on your ps4
what do you mean why not in england answer please?
I've replaced my vantage 3 times before I finally returned it. Stick drift started after just a couple weeks of playing every time I got a replacement. Highly considering this c40. I just hope its ps5 compatible.
The Vantage is a useless brick. Literally the worst controller I have ever came in contact with. I have more faith in my 30 year old NES controller that’s been in my attic for 7 years than I do a brand new Scuff Vantage
Have u tried recalibrating it or the latest firmware? I don’t have either controllers but I’ve heard that doing that can help with the Vantage.
KlassicKrusty I got my money back. But my dude tried that. He said it helped a little, but the controller is still garbage when compared to the Impact or Infinity

I've been shopping around for a controller for a while now and I'm hesitant just because its 200 bucks and I really wanna make I'm happy with what I get. So I'm thinking Scuf Impact or The Astro. What do you guys think?
Astro, but if you want a scuf, get a newer one online because the 1st couple of scuf's that were made were very faulty ex: stick drifting constantly, Fragile trigger hairs that break off easily, Not tight sax buttons(side buttons) and very sensitive audio touchbar(My audio touch bar got muted and it won't unmute for no reason) So I think your best bet is Astro, trust me I own both controllers for the same exact time period

Does this Astro controller support Gyro controls in Steam?
Well did you not see him play with them both dennylafoss
I'm really interest in the response delay from the controller to the ps4. I have an older scuf and it feels to have less of a response than the Astros wired. My character seems to react quicker to my scuf than astro. I'm curious if I'm just use to my scuf and the astro has better or worse response... thanks
Can you attach a third joystick instead of the dpad?
Just by looks, I would get c40. Oohh face plates, SMH scuff
Should i use parallel or offset for fortnite?
I bought the C40, and I definitely prefer parallel for shooters. I found that when it's in the offset position, I was a little more likely to accidentally press the left trigger. This is especially important if you are using the trigger stops and an early actuation point for the triggers (Which you should be for this sort of game). I hope this helped, but be sure to play around with it yourself if you plan to get it, or already have this controller, as everyone is different.

Yes. Mine and my roommates both are messed up. I've already sent mine back and it's still acting up.

EmptyNone a time traveller should be able to answer it.
