Back in my flying days... and while flying in the US, I thought Delta was great... plus I remember a Pan Am (yes, I'm old) flight from my hometown, Sydney to LA, while the plane was old, the inflight service was also great. All my first class flights have been with Cathay Pacific. 🦘
Quick note from a frequent Alaska first class flyer - Seattle has a couple of Alaska lounges and they are very nice. Also, Alaska asks passengers to go online and pick out their meals in advance a couple days before the flight, hence no menu - the options are listed online. They do keep meals onboard for those who didn't choose online. The fruit and cheese box makes an excellent light meal and is one of the most popular choices - there's never a guarantee there will be one on the flight, so order it online..
It's a shame that Alaska no longer includes lounge access when you buy a first-class ticket. However, if you don't need a lie-flat seat then their first-class is a bargain.
@@VisitorsWelcome In fairness, they do offer it for first class, but only when at least one segment on that day and itinerary are at least 2,000 miles.

As noted by others, comparing U.S. "First" Class domestic cabins to your experience in Delta One (international Business Class) isn't a fair comparison. There is a difference between domestic and international products of all U.S. carriers, so you could have theoretically flow SFO-LHR in Polaris and could have had a better experience than flying SFO-MSP on DL. Great job otherwise and keep 'em coming. 😀
We should have known better listening to his accent knowing that he isn’t based in the US. He doesn’t know what he’s doing. Why would anyone do a review comparing domestic vs international for the US?? Those of us based in North America know that’s the defining difference. Over in Europe, their international business flights do not have lay flat beds they just leave one empty seat beside you it is just hilarious. Thanks for the heads up. I won’t waste my time watching this video.
Out of the 7 airlines with 6 requiring more attention to cleaning, Delta was by far the best and ticked more boxes then the other's. BUT I believe the International airlines surpass the U.S. airlines by far...thank you for sharing.
Delta will always be my heros. When I got injured in Berlin, coming home they gave me a dedicated attendant and wheel chair as soon as I got to the airport. A van came for me as well to take me there. He brought me drinks and food, whatever I needed. When it was time for me to take my flight he rolled me onto my plane and into my seat. On board the attendants were quite attentive and when I got to Phoenix,my home, the concierge got me a van and since my back was injured they had me take the wheel chair with the van. Delta is the best. Forever
Well, of course you preferred Delta. You're comparing apples and oranges. You should have flown all international flights or all domestic flights. It's not really fair to compare a long-haul, ( 10 hour ) international flight to all others being domestic and less than six hours. Completely different menu, amenities, etc.
Not surprised with united. I flew with them 6 times is February and didn’t have great experience. Told the flight attendant my partner had a nut allergy and in response she said “what does that mean, what do you want me to do about it” I was taken aback with this. Such a shame as we decided to upgrade for our long flight home
I'm happy to see you blurred all the passengers face. People pay considerable money for privacy in first class and happy you respect that. Great video as well!
14:26 thank god I'm not the only person with that passport fading issue. I often worry that the lost detailing would somehow cause me to not get through passport control in countries I visit, but seeing that you have it also & you being far more travelled than me does give me some relief :)
As a Chicagoan, I was happy to see you in my city, but it killed me that you had to get off a long flight in HAWAII and go straight to another flight! Wow! I think a week's vacation in between could have been budgeted, haha
Would absolutely love to see All-Inclusive Resort videos! Love your content and all you post! Watching now; sorry to my family that dinner will be slightly later than usual.😂
We are United Plus members and fly business class on overseas flight. So far, we have been pretty happy. But it is great to see that there are better accommodations. The best experience was on Air New Zealand. But anything out of San Francisco with the Pretzel rolls is great.
As I have discovered, drinks and pre departure service on AA first class is at crew discretion. Also most lounges are aging and limiting hours...so if an early flight or late arrival you'll have to join the general public offerings. Most Delta must have the amex companion card to enter. First class is not very classy any longer. Fun trip you had though.
American Airlines usually do a preflight drink but I think because you were on a night flight they didn’t do it. Great video love All the different camera angles
Your experience with United staff is almost always my own experience as well. I usually fly United because it's the cheapest and that's my main concern right now.
Delta getting a leg up here with the only international flight. Not apples v apples. I can say I had a great flight with United from Newark to Amsterdam a few months ago on a 777-200. Even though an older aircraft, it was a great flight, much better than the same type of aircraft from SFO to Newark a few days earlier. I put it down to it being international v domestic. If Delta wasn't the best flight out of this bunch, there's something wrong.
Kudos to Hawaiian & United for not locking the shades on those dreadful pieces of equipment. I’m usually offered a PDB in American First or Business on US domestic. Thank you for mentioning Sterling Pacific - have desperately been trying to find out your carry on brand 🙏🏻
So, delta’s domestic first class experience isn’t quite like what you experienced. It’s closer to Alaska but with a screen at least. No “suites” and no club access either. Kind of wished you’d shown that instead of an international flight.
You mentioned going on a cruise to Hawaii from the mainland, but you should look into the Norwegian Cruise Lines Pride of America cruise. It is the only 7-day cruise available that is a full Hawaiian island cruise. No sea days (unless bad weather occurs), never leaves Hawaiian waters, and even includes 2 overnight ports. I used to work on it and would highly suggest it.
Really liked the video (as always). I do think that comparing Delta One to the domestic first class products of the other airlines is not quite fare, though. It would’ve been more fair to compare maybe a domestic Delta first class seat to the east coast. Also, you have to fly delta one (or have the right credit card) to get into the Sky Club; even international delta first class (e.g., SEA to Mexico) by itself doesn’t get you in. ☹️
Delta has no international First. The highest class international for Delta is Business and an international long haul Business gets you to Delta One’s super premium lounge Delta One lounge in JFK.
My dad worked for American Airlines as a Mechanical Engineer for 24 and a half years. He referred to TWA as "Teeny Weeny Airline" and DELTA as " Doesn't Even Leave The Airport"
Great video! Quick note though - your cruising altitudes are incorrect - at least in the US, aircraft due east fly at odd altitudes and aircraft due west fly at even altitudes. There are occasional situations where you may fly inappropriate altitude for direction of flight, such as traffic, but generally you'll be brought back to the correct altitude for direction of flight once able. You'll also only fly at odd altitudes above RVSM airspace as 2,000ft of separation is required, i.e. FL410, FL430, FL450, and so on.
I understand that some people hate united, but it all depends on how lucky you are on which flight crew you get, also every flight I’ve been on with united I have had a great experience with them!
Flew with United before, the cabin crew were not friendly at all. So hearing you being barked at and had a bad experience with them, did not suprise me at all. Great video as always and very informative. Fly safe!

Another great report - thanks Will. Sorry you'd to endure United - back in the day, we'd an amazing customer experience through Continental Airlines, every time. We knew when management moved from Houston to Chicago that things would deteriorate. We'd no idea just how badly... I'm glad I was able to coach tearful flight crews through career change options during a ground stop. Nasty, horrible airline - treats its customers with even more contempt than its employees - and I'm personally connected with one of their VPs who had health issues... United screwed him to the wall, poor fellow. Glad that you'd better experiences aboard their many competitors!
1. Where are the Tims?????? 2. Couple notes on Alaska, you would have had lounge access if you had departed from one of their west coast hubs. Also, while they don't have screens in the seats, they do offer IFE via an app so you can use your own headphones.. 3. For a true apples to apples comparison, I would have preferred all 6 flights to be domestic and on the mainland. Airline products for Hawaiian and international flights are different from their normal domestic counterparts

Sorry, Delta is the worst. Terrible excuse of an airline.
I was thinking the same
Should have flown UA and AA flagship routes across the pond for apples/apples.
United's international Polaris leaves Delta in the dust.
Ahhh United's Iconic Fawlty Towers Service. Great video and concept mate!
Thanks for watching mate, hope you’re doing well
Great video! Go DELTA! My husband is an A330 pilot for DELTA!
Not surprised with united. I flew with them 6 times is February and didn’t have great experience. Told the flight attendant my partner had a nut allergy and in response she said “what does that mean, what do you want me to do about it” I was taken aback with this. Such a shame as we decided to upgrade for our long flight home
what! that’s horrible my goodness
Thank you for taking another look at the US carriers! JetBlue Mint is my personal favorite!
I'm happy to see you blurred all the passengers face. People pay considerable money for privacy in first class and happy you respect that.
Great video as well!
He blurred everyone’s faces 🙄
14:26 thank god I'm not the only person with that passport fading issue. I often worry that the lost detailing would somehow cause me to not get through passport control in countries I visit, but seeing that you have it also & you being far more travelled than me does give me some relief :)
Delta is my Fave for overseas travel for sure.
Never miss a video!! Excited every time he uploads
As a Chicagoan, I was happy to see you in my city, but it killed me that you had to get off a long flight in HAWAII and go straight to another flight! Wow! I think a week's vacation in between could have been budgeted, haha
As a frequent business flyer, this is exactly the sort of comparison content I need. Thanks Will for doing this, it's awesome!
I feel like you missed an opportunity to fly Delta One from Honolulu to Atlanta. My condolences for getting stuck on United from Hawaii instead.
Always great to see you back Will, I agree with you, Delta all the way.
Awesome journey. I think Delta was my favorite. I hope you had a very long rest when you got home! Safe travels.

$2100 for his carry-on if anyone was wondering

Cheap compared to Louis Vuitton, and a lot more robust.

Nice to see a fair comparison of apples with apples and narrow bodies with wide bodies, well done!!
As I have discovered, drinks and pre departure service on AA first class is at crew discretion. Also most lounges are aging and limiting hours...so if an early flight or late arrival you'll have to join the general public offerings. Most Delta must have the amex companion card to enter. First class is not very classy any longer. Fun trip you had though.
you’re literally my comfort person i love you kislux !
Delta is my favorite airline.
Once again Trek Trendy is reliably relaxing. A great way to unwind.
I'm knackered watching this, god knows how you felt!😊
About to eat dinner. Perfect timing! ❤ I love these reviews of airlines and trains the most. Can you do a bus review soon, Will? Luxury bus! 😅
American Airlines usually do a preflight drink but I think because you were on a night flight they didn’t do it. Great video love All the different camera angles
First Class in the US = Buisness Class in the rest of the World
Your experience with United staff is almost always my own experience as well.
Don't ever talk about it being difficult to spend several days flying first class. Like that's not a challenge, that a blessing
Fr
Congratulations you survived United Airlines!!!
HAHAHAHAHA.... such a true statement.
You have to fly from Seattle on Alaska if you want THE best lounge access EVER. I’m serious. The lounge in Seattle is freaking amazing.
My dad worked for American Airlines as a Mechanical Engineer for 24 and a half years. He referred to TWA as "Teeny Weeny Airline" and DELTA as " Doesn't Even Leave The Airport"
No, no, no, Delta stands for Divert Every Leg Through Atlanta
Delta: Don’t Expect Luggage To Arrive.
I love you Sunday uploads. Big love to you, Millie, Mum & Dad. Kindest regards, Richard U.K
never been this early to a video, always amazing content!!
I understand that some people hate united, but it all depends on how lucky you are on which flight crew you get, also every flight I’ve been on with united I have had a great experience with them!
You get the mad head nods when you talk haha
Flew with United before, the cabin crew were not friendly at all. So hearing you being barked at and had a bad experience with them, did not suprise me at all. Great video as always and very informative. Fly safe!
Absolutely loved this! Thanks for comparing and sharing! :)
Bingo card was seriously missing some Tims and a Chocolate Desert. And was the Hawaiian 'guava juice' actually Mai Tai?? Great video, thanks for taking us along. Delta nailed it on this one.

May I also remind you of the fact that our Native American population in our motherland, the Continent of America before the European Colonizers arrived, was around 15 millions, while the European population in their motherland, the Continent of Europe was around 25 millions.
Today, Native American population is 15 million, while the European population, in the Continents of America + Europe, is a staggering TWO BILLION! A shockingly sad truth. 😔
In my humble opinion, it's about time to decolonize the Colonized lands, and return to rightful owners Native American people.

Thank you sir for a great original trip idea. As always, taking the time to zoom in on the menu is sincerely appreciated. I was laughing to myself wondering why you didn't try "southwest'? Of course they don't do first class (more like no class). Hope you fly Virgin America (even if just for the safety video, which is probably the best on the planet). Thank you again for all your time given to plan, film, and edit for all of us.

You can preselect your main dish on AA within 30 days of flight, so no reason not having your first choice. And if flying AS in its front cabin over 500 miles, lounge access is provided in its own lounges (where available) or using AA’s Admirals Club.

Glad that you'd better experiences aboard their many competitors!
i can't imagine paying so much for first class to have dirty seats and crumbs everywhere.
BREAKING NEWS: Coca-Cola reported diminished sales in the past quarter as celebrated UA-camr Trek Trendy orders only ONE DC over four days of travel. Meanwhile Coca-Cola's stock price dropped massively amidst the uncertainty of Mr. Trendy's future intentions. Stay tuned for updates as we continue to develop this story.
Very well done review! They have actually come a long way in 1st class for domestic airlines. But I guarantee the international ones will be a lot better. Please do one for the foreign international airlines....if you have enough left!
Hey, love your vids. FYI we just flew 1st class on Hawaiian on July 30 and returned Aug 1 2024 PDX to OGG. We had the exact same terrible breakfast. They did supply us with bottomless Mai Tais and service was excellent. Our plane was an older Airbus A321and we had Star link for no extra cost. It was quick and maybe the best inflight wifi I have used. I am not sure why your newer plane was without it. That was an epic trip. Hope you slept well when you got home. keep the vids coming.
United attitude for service … 🤦🏻♀️
avoiding any US carriers for 15 years when ever possible and thanks to your amazing review this will not change. Delta if there is no other option. ANA, Singapore, Qatar, Emirates, and a few more and you are in heaven...

I’m EP on AA and in first class often. They should have served you a drink in glassware before departure. Lately AA is having issues with catering. They don’t order enough meals - or worse - I’ve heard they have been giving priority to crews deadheading over paid passengers. Great video btw. I am jealous you get to fly like this.
