I believe this map has activation triggers for each of the protoss tribes; yellow and orange stand still at the beginning until you explore certain parts of the map or obtain other objectives.
23:38 Wait wait wait, Jayborino had friends in middle school? I don't believe that. No way Starcraft nerds had friends in middle school even back then. Nope.
I never noticed those huge spiny creatures that are bigger than anything else in that cut scene with the wormhole before, I guess those were proto-leviathans or behemoths.
Marcus Alexandre Leitão Guedes I was thinking the same thing. It even makes Starcraft 2 makes more sense and connects better to Starcraft 1 in my opinion.
Except it really doesn't. There's one really major, GAPING plothole left by what SC2 introduces - And that is the Overmind's vision of the future and the doom of the galaxy. The vision it had around the time it infested Kerrigan - the vision it had _before linking minds with Zeratul_ and enabled them to learn one another's secrets. Why, if this was a vision the Overmind had early on, did Zeratul not learn about the existence of Amon, and his plan for the hybrids? Why didn't he notice 'oh hey, this thing is being controlled against its will?' Not to mention there's huge contradiction bewteen SC1/BW and SC2 - Here in SC1/BW we see the Overmind's entire purpose for going after the Protoss was to assimilate them and become 'perfect.' And then in SC2... it that states Protoss cannot be infested or subsumed by the Zerg (HotS, Kerrigan talking to her minions between missions). Uh... what? Frankly, the SC2 'story' is garbage. They forced a vastly different tone onto a setting where it just didn't fit, turned it into fantasy in space (complete with a great big space demon trying to take over the worl- I mean universe) with all this nonsense about power levels (specifically Kerrigan's, and her constantly climbing psionic class), flanderizing numerous characters (poor Zeratul getting the worst of it as the raving prophet madman), downgrading of the series' best villains (Mengsk and Kerrigan), butchering of the lore, trivializing the Terrans' involvement in the events at large (they were just caught in the middle of Amon's machinations, and even in the Overmind's visions of doom they get wiped out off-screen, and during the Last War get decimated by the Golden Armada also largely off-screen. Raynor's presence in the last mission felt largely like an afterthought to me)... I liked the mechanical changes and quality of life improvements SC2 brought to the series (except mules/larva inject/overcharge), but frankly, I can't stand the story. I've played the campaigns a few times for the achievements and to beat them on Brutal, but I have to roll my eyes through most of the story segments. The only good things that came out of the SC2 story were Abathur, kind of Zagara, and Alarak.
Draeckon, I agree with nearly everything you wrote. Except that the Terrans just kinda getting caught in the middle was always more or less the case. I like that for once the survival of humanity was not the central focus of a sci fi story; the Terrans fought mostly between themselves, while the big epic battle was Zerg versus Protoss. With Raynor lending a hand, of course.
@@Draeckonwhy do you expect zeratul to know everything about overmind? The over mind is a superior entity. Zeratul can't read all of overmind while over mind can read all about zeratul mind.
VS protoss, I think spawn broodling would be good vs High Templar, but ensnare would be good vs things like interceptors and zealots I think (IIRC it causes attack speed to be decreased). As for defilers, plague I think is not used enough, yeah protoss have shields, but it brings their HP down to 1, so once you get though the shields....
iulian-florin Ghelbere if you plague a swarm of interceptors they will never leave the carrier to attack since they try to heal themselves each time they return after shooting and will only leave the carrier while at full health.
Sad fact: the cerebrate that we played here was a different cerebrated to the one who we played back on mission 1-8 It was confirmed that he was killed by tassadar
I distinctly remember the Zerg campaign and this mission in particular being dramatically more difficult when playing the Mass Recall version on the hardest difficulty setting. SC remastered has updated portraits and graphics in a 2D sense but the outdated user interface and AI is a definite pain to work with. Plus I greatly appreciated all the various cutscenes and custom music from Halo/Fallout that the Mass Recall artists added in.
i have never played starcraft but by watching this video i realized that venomancer from dota 1 is a copy of strarcraft hydralisk. Blizzard creators had fun
Checked that with google and with starcraft itself. Hives, lairs, and hatcheries spawn larva at the same rate. I also tested the interceptor's interactions with plague and ensnare. Ensnare lasts even if the interceptors enter/exit the carrier and plague actually completely stops them from exiting the carrier, though interceptors will stay out and keep fighting. They come out super slow after the plague dissipates as well.
SquallLionhart409 I've played starcraft dude and I can see and I've noticed that as you evolve the hatcherys into lairs and hives they spawn larva faster
Did you not read what I wrote? I checked with google, looking at team liquid and staredit, AND booted up starcraft itself to verify. You have subjective memories of playing a game. I have an objective video (that I just made) that demonstrates two hives, a lair, and two hatcheries all spawn larva at the same rate. Hives and lairs do not spawn larva faster than hatcheries.
SquallLionhart409 ok the team's you have noted are starcraft 2 teams and yes in starcraft 2 they have the same rate of spawn in starcraft 1 they don't boot up watercraft up again and have a hatchery, lair, and hive next to each other and you will see it too
Team Liquid is a sc2 team in the same way Team Liquid is a dota team. TL has resources for brood war AND sc2. Staredit is not a sc2 team to my knowledge, though it is a website focused on making Starcraft maps. None of that matters compared to ua-cam.com/video/SYJ0d6V-2bE/v-deo.html. It shows both that the larva spawn rate is the same AND that demonstrates some of the variability in larva spawn rate. (There is a 24 frame window in which the larva can spawn, because Brood War programming is ****ing weird.) It also shows what I said, that I booted up starcraft itself to verify. Stop spreading misinformation.
39:45 i like how they kept the old mistake. Daggoth speaking with Zasz's portrait
The mystic teal Assimilator in the yellow base... :)
I believe this map has activation triggers for each of the protoss tribes; yellow and orange stand still at the beginning until you explore certain parts of the map or obtain other objectives.
I felt the mass recall version of this mission was really difficult.
23:38 Wait wait wait, Jayborino had friends in middle school?
I don't believe that. No way Starcraft nerds had friends in middle school even back then. Nope.
unless he had make believe friends
1:12 That image is a lie. There were no Devourers!
RetlocLive dude that's a mutalisk with blurry thing
That is totally a devourer!
no dude, that is definitely a devourer and RetlocLive is right
Funny, according to the Devourer's lore, they are present during the Great War.
RetlocLive does nobody really see that the zerg air units are moving AWAY and not towards aiur ?
Leave Aiur alooooooone!
I never noticed those huge spiny creatures that are bigger than anything else in that cut scene with the wormhole before, I guess those were proto-leviathans or behemoths.
I love the strategies of defense going for victory
Incredible how the plot of SC2 makes so much sense with the Overmind dialogue in this mission's briefing.

Zerglings are decent at taking out reavers, even more so with adrenal gland. Just run one at the front to bait the first scarab.
Dang Jay, you make this mission look easy while I had trouble getting through Yellow's base alone. XD bronze forever
I am an infested
Live for the SWAAARMM!!!
btw that scourge following the shuttle was kinda cute
We've all gotten a little better.
Ha that's an understatement for me.
I was curious should you always build multiple hatcheries to get a large Zerg army quick as well as stronger units for more quick victories
You should always be spending your money. This is a Macro focused game.

i think interceptors entering the carrier and then respawning cancels the ensnare
and imo plague is more of a multiplayer thing
iulian-florin Ghelbere if you plague a swarm of interceptors they will never leave the carrier to attack since they try to heal themselves each time they return after shooting and will only leave the carrier while at full health.
My favorite part was when he said 'mondo.'
Sad fact: the cerebrate that we played here was a different cerebrated to the one who we played back on mission 1-8
It was confirmed that he was killed by tassadar
That cerebrate was killed by Zeratul sometime in the Protoss campaign. It's still alive in Invasion of Aiur and Full Circle
I just watched your starcraft 2 videos and you came a long way production wise and you seem happier.
As writren in the contract 100$
Wish granted
39:52 reaver's last word lol
That is an awesome splash screen/thumbnail

Blake Pritchard Yeah, the stuff the mass recall team add was awesome
Why don't you use Nydus Canal??
Wait a fucking minute. The Zerg can just open rips like that in the universe to travel????????????????
I tend to turtle on this map until i get my tech up to speed using the colonies and roving bands of Zerglings for defense.
"Just wait, it's gonna start getting hard!" There's pills you can take for that these days.
technically it has already been hard many times before.
The thing I notice on starcraft remastered and free version brood war is free, Terran can make a diversion using marines
Wait, Ultralisk has speed upgrade?
In BW yes
Mass guardian for the win.
9:23 i just cleared this map for the first time and god i feel that lmao, those things so annoying
i have never played starcraft but by watching this video i realized that venomancer from dota 1 is a copy of strarcraft hydralisk. Blizzard creators had fun
i accidentally hit orange before i was ready, i loaded a previous save
Keep it up yo
Honestly i just stack up on over lord and sent them to the crytaall jone with 1 group of guardian ,and just run towards the beacon xD
to the bacon
Hairborino
Jay in starcraft Hives respawn Larva faster then hatcherys
Checked that with google and with starcraft itself. Hives, lairs, and hatcheries spawn larva at the same rate.

these missions suck on mass recall
NoFact4U
what man, come on
Kareem Jonson He has denied my knowledge, he shall never have it now.
???? I didn't deny anything, I'm content letting the comments sections go as they go.
that's exactly what a DENIER OF KNOWLEDGE would say! you ain't foolin me, jay!
Andrew Hengy What!! This is madness. Anarchy Gah!!!!!!
