The "Real Scale Mod" is one of the mods that I've been wanting to play for a little while. This mod features all of the Zerg units from the StarCraft lore. The goal of this mod is to show the units in their most lore accurate state. In this video I try to create pretty much all of them... Including the Leviathan.
The "SCII RS MOD (Real Scale Melee)" mod is available in StarCraft 2 on all servers. All you need to do is create a custom game with the extension mod.

My favorite part of this mod is how the air units actually get into a fur ball and dogfight around instead of just statically shooting at each other.
now im wondering how the hell terran survived against any of thay in the lore.

2:57 I guess it was vaguely established in a random SC book that queens are deathly afraid of descending slopes.
I thought it just got stuck because the ramp was too narrow. You can clearly see a queen descending the ramp from the second expansion at the top of the screen at 6:12.

Juan Frate well, dunno if this mod rescales Terran but I'm pretty damn sure the cruisers aren't as small as they are in the vanilla game. I mean, the Hyperion is like half a command center but in the story it literally spawns a command center....

+TheGuillejedi There are different classes of battlecruisers, the Hyperion is one of the biggest classes there are, a Behemonth-class... and it was the flagship of Mengks...
the ones used in multiplayer and being able to be produced from starports are Minotaur-class... faaaaaar smaller... in Ghost Academy Vol. 3 you could see the comparison with people and the Academy, it wasn't as impressive... less than 75 meters tall, and probably 125 wide, and 200-250 meters long at most...
Pablo Matías Valdés yes I know there are different classes of cruisers but you can still see the Hyperion in game, and it's stupidly small. And even the minotaur classes are pretty small compared to what they should be
TheGuillejedi Ah yes, of course, if they showed the Hyperion for example, in Zero Hour, there wouldn't even be a screen to show what's going on bellow it xD its the visual representation, just don't take it as canonical, much of gameplay isn't...
Im suprised how accurate it is. With exception of Leviathan which is still to tiny :)

It didn't work as a detector for cloaked and burrowed units, just gave you vision of whatever enemy unit you put it on. Only way to get rid of it was to kill the unit or use science vessel cleanse ability.

@Anne Frank I had a hundred page game design plan on a potential SC Battlefield type game written out. I lost it when my hard drive melted...kinda cool to see they had the same idea.

The parasite was a queen ability in Broodwar.
The queen had an ability called parasite in BW but it functioned differently. This one is a vast improvement imo.

Parasite in Broodwar could only target enemy units and gave a small amount of vision around them, so you could parasite an overlord and you could see where the enemy base is located
Good old BW days. You could parasite an observer and see all what they see.

You have never seen a parasite that makes another unit a detector? That feature was in SC1 :) Queen had those. You can (or could) even parasite an enemy unit and he was scouting for you.

+Sarah Vittrup Large dog. Very large actually. In SC1 there was a cinematic where zergling was shown as almost the size of a military off-road car, and hydralisk as twice as tall as human. Later in SC2 HOTS zergling was shown much much smaller, but maybe that is not that zergling in smaller, maybe that is that Kerrigan is as large as a horse =)

I'd love to see matches played on this on one of the larger maps. Also I want to see the size of spine/spore crawlers and nydus worms.
Could you maybe do the same with Terran and Protoss too plz :D?

I mean Phoenix are the size of the corrupters and void rays the size of brood lords. I think the mothership costs 12k 12k or something like that

when you do these "real scale " videos, plz show EVERY ability/feature of EVERY thing.
ex. sunken colony, impaler colony, etc.... even for the leviathan you haven't actually explore what it can fully do.

There is also Starcraft Comics for the lore they are awesome , I own the #0 from SC2 Terran Collectors Edition and the non signed art book (the earlier and older versions instead of the gold writing)

These StarCraft mods are pretty fun to watch because sometimes you have to think very differently. For instance I've seen a mod where the buildings actually moved.

I thought Zerglings were supposed to be anywhere from dog size to mountain lion size... In fact in the original game they were pretty fuckin big too.
Makes them around the size of a marine at very most. Marines are about twice as tall as standard humans. Humans aren't very big compared to almost everything in the SC2 universe...
I am Hello But the scaling works. Hatcheries are huge, multi-story biological constructs, zerglings are the size of people. Of course they look tiny when everything else is the size of a house or larger...

As the other guy stated, different hotkeys, he didn't think that he could make overlords. This why I don't bother with hotkeys.

zerglings are supposed to be the size of large dogs.
nope in the campaign you see a zerling that is like stommach height on the queen, and they are much wider than taller.
stomach height to a human would be the size of a large dog =_= and if im correct the queen is BIGGER then a human
so if anything they are wider and taller then a dog

I'm pretty sure this is accurate. Zerglings are like the only thing in Starcraft NOT larger than a human.
I mean lorewise the zerg should be expanding MUCH faster. They can go from landing to fully infesting the planet in a matter of hours, a place of this size should be almost instantly overwhelmed, also infested zealots aren't possible, Protoss are protected by the Kahala from infestation, and those that cut themselves off from the kalla are taken in by the void, which will then protect them. There isn't any point where anything of them could be infested. Even the tal'drim have their own way of protection.
Protoss can get "infested" like you saw it in Legacy of the void
Sam Mind Infestation is seperate from mind control or hybrids. It has a specific definition. The corruption of the kaala was just mind control.
No I mean HotS and this one Protoss with which we infiltrate the protoss space ship. This Protoss is infested^^
Sam Mind That's not infestation, they put a parasite inside of it, it did not control nor infect the protoss. Go read the definition a few times and it might sink in.

Drones are by far the largest worker unit in the lore, yeah? I get that they turn into buildings and whatnot, but it looks so jarringly disproportionate.
Mazra imagine stepping into a Zerg base and seeing those things carrying minerals around. I mean, they should even carry more resources than normal (but of course that would be stupidly op)
Actually, SCVs are the biggest workers, being just a little bit larger than a marauder.
Drones are about the size of a zealot.
In other words, this mod isn't realistic at all. Because workers for one are vastly oversized.

i think so in one of the loading screens of heart of the swarm they show kerrigans leviathan and the hyperion next to each other and the hyperion looks tiny in comparison
