Sho, glad that you get your wallet back. However, while majority of Malaysian are good and kind, there are few who are bad apples too. So be careful with your belonging and surrounding. Tips living happily in Malaysia is not to have too high expectation of everything. Best to instill kindness, tolerance and patience in everyday life. Malaysia is not perfect but still one of nice country to live in.

About the wallet issue, in Malaysia also your wallet may not come back to you. You were very fortunate the lady is so honest.
I am Msian & have gotten my bag snatched in broad daylight before(as in 12 noon or 1 pm). People have gotten their smartphone stolen while eating at the coffee shop or riding the LRT/MRT.
Just be careful next time with your belongings.

in rough comparison, earning JP yen and spend RM is like 10x spending power.see our SG neighbour u knw. Compared to many west and east countries, Malaysia ppl mostly very friendly, kind, helpful to tourist, especially Malay ppl + MY no earthquake, typhoon, tsunami, volcano, etc. In short, Malaysia is one of the best destination in the world for retirement frm other countries especially dollar, yen, euro, won, pound. For MY ppl, inflation now is very high and low income ppl suffered mostly for basic necessity. But for retired JP moving here, u will like this place.

Recently read a news report probably a survey report that majority Msians espc the Malays, they like and are welcoming of Japanese pple. Having worked 7 yrs for Jpnese company, personally I prefer more Japanese to come live and work in Msia. Espc KL city is almost an extension of Japan with many large Jpnese supermarkets, AEON, AEON BIG, DONDONDONGKI and a new big mall BBCC LALAPORT wholly featuring Japanese city lifestyle F&B and merchandises. . JUST LUVIT. So to all three of you and your families wishing you happy peaceful enjoyable living in Malaysia.❤❤❤

I lost my wallet recently too, it was missing for 2 days and I looked for it. An elderly couple picked it up, didnt know GPS but went asking around how to get to my address on my IC card and returned it to me so grateful to them. I lost my money but the wallet had my IC, Driving Licence, Bank Cards, etc got it back.
It's a pity that the money is gone, but I'm glad you got your wallet back😊

Welcome To Malaysia. Malaysians generally are friendly, kind and very helpful, of course there are always some bad ones too so I'm glad a kind lady saw you dropped the wallet and gave it back to you. Malaysia is a food paradise..you will enjoy almost any kinds of local cuisine and international cuisines here, as we are multi racial so very easy to find malay, chinese and indian food here. Of course we have japanese and korean food too, besides western food. Malaysians mostly complain about the hot weather here but foreigners mostly love the hot weather here hahaha..

No, in malaysia, it is totally depends on your luck, even if the phone or wallet in your bag, they will still steal your money or phone, my sister experienced it during her time in local Uni and met robbery when walking alone in PJ resident area. My experience in japan was I left my wallet in the shop and the workers came out and passed to me, really good impression.

Its funny because I think most Malaysians would be under the impression that its the opposite. That if you drop a wallet in Malaysia, all your money in the bank will be gone in one day. While if you drop your wallet in Japan someone will get it back to you or at least place it at a "lost-item" collection that wouldve existed in all public areas.
I know for a fact that the concept of a wasuremono isnt even in our language but it does exist in Japan. And I know that I have never seen a facility for submitting them even once in my country Malaysia. Its thus a bit surprising that a Japanese could think that its better to drop a wallet in Malaysia instead of in Japan. But, as someone who has never dropped a wallet (Alhamdulillah), I would choose to believe you over my own understanding on how the world works

I thought i just watched on some other videos that Japan is safer than Malaysia..that if you dropped your wallet in a shinkansen, you will get it returned back to you on the same day?
Yes i know Japan is a large country, even larger than Malaysia. So i guess it still depends on one's luck.
From my own experiences, yes i got my wallet returned with the cash untouched at least twice. And i also experienced with all the cash gone once. Mostly, my family members lost their cash when they got their wallets returned back.
So it's not just in Japan.

Malaysia city is just like any big city around the world there are honest people and crooks, i feel its same as japan too, lucky he got his wallet back. Some might not be so lucky, anyway welcome to malaysia, hope u enjoy your stays. Education apart from government ones, private especially we are quiet good here, as we are expose to education from both western and eastern, i myself commands enlish, malay and chinese fluently,while i also speaks 3 chinese dialect fluently as well. Its a great country to get exposure and gain skill set from multi cultures of people around the world. Basically a central hub or trade and education.

It is funny, usually if you drop a wallet or phone here in Malaysia, you will never get it back. It is gone forever. Thank goodness your wallet is found by a kind-hearted person.😂 But when I was in Japan, one of my friends actually dropped her wallet that contained a lot of money, her passport, IC and cards, we managed to get it back with nothing is missing. My brother left his camera and he also managed to get it back. Can't say the same thing when we are in Malaysia, usually those things are gone for good.😂
