Ether is SolidGoldFX first deep dive into the world of washy ambient reverb. It sports 3 different modulation options like Vibrato, Tremolo and Harmonic Tremolo and a host of different waveshapes to put some serious motion in the sonic ocean. While a selectable shimmer effect, Tap Tempo and momentary infinite sustain and speed ramping are sure to make a real splash with all the soundscapers out there.

Only recently discovered this channel. I like what you do. I don't use a guitar or many of the high end fx like you, but it's always a pleasure to watch, learn and get inspiration for the diy and repurposed stuff I do. I had to comment as this is one of the best reverb I've heard in a long while.
My first thought on seeing the Ether announcement was: "Another modulated reverb? Mmmmkay, I'm pretty happy with my Slö & Immerse, so I think I have that covered...". And holy crap, Solid Gold does it again, this time putting in one box all of the pedals I like to sneak into the end of my chain: vibrato, chorus, harmonic tremolo, shimmer. After your demo, the Ether gets added to the list, alongside the EM-III and others. I do wish Solid Gold would go into the realm of stereo imaging, but nonetheless, the Ether would greatly expand my set-up, while simplifying the number of pedals at end-of-chain. :)

Epic video!! I could listen to you talk and play all day long. But then I'd be having to sneak of and play because you're also such a great inspiration. If you don't post another vid before the holidays, hope you and yours have a fantastic time. No doubt there will be a pedal or two under the tree on Christmas morning. I'm getting an Alexander Pedals Radical Delay DX, can't bloody wait!!

If I hadn't already just recently bought the Astral Destiny, I totally would've bought this one. I was in the market for a good shimmer reverb for a while. Congrats to SGFX though, they are making so many really rad and beautiful sounding effects.

Thank you so much! Means a ton to me that you enjoyed the tones and tunes. I threw an EITS riff in there? If I did, it wasn't on purpose. But that band and their sound is just hardcoded into my sonic system, so there'll always appear tones, melodies and progressions that sounds like them. They were and continue to be instrumental in my musical journey.

I hear OBNE Sun Light vibes with this pedal. Which I just got recently...would you say the they are compariable? My reverb to other pedal ratio is getting out of hand. Can't get enough of all the flavors of reverb out there to explore.

Excellent video as usual my friend! Love the new PZ shirt! Quick question: are the stock pickups still in your Mascis Jazzmaster or did you swap them out with something else?
Thank you so much for the kind words about the video and merch. Really happy with how that t-shirt design turned out as well. The stock pickups are gone. I swapped them a couple of months ago for some Righteous Sound Jazzmaster Pickups. They are incredible! Don't get me wrong. I absolutely adored my J.Mascis all stock. But once you've played something for a while, you get the urge to shake things up a bit. Definitely happy with that pickup swap. The Righteous Sound Pickups are so crisp and clear.
I like that the long reverbs and ambient effects this pedal produces sound natural, like massive spaces, rather than computer algorithms. I'm finding that I dislike the long reverbs on my Hall of Fame reverb because they just sound like whatever I'm running through it has a crappy sustain applied to it with a weird tail that just disintegrates instead of trailing off naturally.
Man, this video is great! You really know how to go deep with a single pedal. The only doubt I have is how can you switch from trémolo to harmonic trémolo or vibrato.
Thanks! Really happy you liked the video. You simply flick the mini toggle to the left to select between the different modulation types. Sorry if I didn't make that clear enough in the demo.

This is definitely something different to Counter Current. A much more expansive device. The dirty lo-fi tones of Counter Current is still fun though. Happy you liked the demo. Means a lot 😊

But guitar-wise, what you're hearing is simply my Squier J.Mascis Jazzmaster with Righteous Sound Pickups into the SolidGoldFX Ether and then into the REVV D20 with a REVV 112 cabinet ☺

People keep saying " Just Another Reverb pedal " I disagree, each pedal has it's own unique soundt hat you won't find on any other pedal. I recently purchased the IK multimedia X-Space and Wow ! It's algorithms are incredible! It's Another weapon in my Atmosphere Guitar armory! This pedal has something no other pedal can match, it would take several pedals to get what you can get out of this one!

Hello amigo. Can you tell me a little how this shimmer compares to Neunaber illumine shimmer?
Sure. The shimmer in Ether is trembling, granular and synthetic. The shimmer in Neunaber reverbs (including the Illumine) is blooming, hazy and pad-like.
Can it go full wet?
help me. larger pedal, European manufacturer, might have been a reverb and delay together. I keep thinking it was called black cabin or dark cabin or something like that. I know its not a lot to go on. driving me crazy though

does it support full wet/dry cut? would be interesting to try it in stereo for one of the channels. no external tap isn't good for syncing with other stuff, but it could be modded easily.

What app are you usung for your phone drums?
I'm not using any drum apps in this demo... But if you mean in general, then I mainly use the beat sequencer in the Garageband app for iPhone.

One isn't better than the other. They are extremely different and will serve very different purposes. They can also be a terrific ambient dream team together 😊
