I watch your videos every day and have lowered my golf scores from average 92 to 95 down to 76 to 82 in the last 6 months. I keep my right arm tucked in!
Again. This guy changed my game 180* at 65 years old. Best golf teacher on the planet. I tell everyone about him. Truth be told I watched so many guys and tried to do everything they said. I went nowhere. I started watching Saguto videos and one day he said, if you don’t take a divot, you will struggle. No one ever said anything about divots. Changed my game. Everything he teaches helped my game.
So nice to hear from you, Tom!! I sincerely appreciate your kind and validating words, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are continuing to perform well for you!! Thanks so much for your ongoing support and referrals, and have a KFCrispy and birdie-filled 2025! Tom
I agree with you, sir, and I'm, 75. The old saying is "You can't teach an old dog new tricks" but Tom is the exception to this rule, at least for this old dog. Whatever golf "wisdom" I've accumulated over the last 5 decades has always been bits and pieces from golf magazine articles and tips but, aside from Hogan's book, I never got anything so comprehensive to address all aspects from the grip and stance to the swing, taking divots, and all else. At my age (and, maybe yours, too) my body betrays me with aches and pains (I just finished 12 weeks of therapy for shoulder problems), dizziness at times that makes teeing up a ball bizarre to see, and various other sundry issues. But Tom's videos give me that intangible element of hope so I'm enthusiastic to play another 18 again. Redemption is what we seek, redemption from bad habits, bad instruction, and bad experiences. Tom is the prophet who tells us what to seek and how to seek it to give us hope and my game is better for what he's taught me. Can I get a big AMEN?
Tom, love the rebuttal. I watched the tuck video, worked on it and it is money…You da man…Golf, Guitar and the stache…Thanks for putting these out here
LOL! I appreciate that, James, and I'm very glad to know that "the tuck" is performing well for you. Hi Tom, I'm 83 years old and I just want to inform you that I played numerous times at a upscaled golf club and could not shoot lower that a 94. I was missing fairways and not able to compress the ball with my irons. I found you lessons on UA-cam and with you instruction about the right arm, keeping it tuck in, was a turning point in my game. I followed your instructions about the tucked right arm and a little more weight on the left foot and recently shot an 84 at the same golf club. I now have confidence that I can keep the ball on the fairway with my drives and frequently able to compress the ball with my irons, as well as taking a divot in front of the ball. Thank you for making me able to play with confidence and improvement in my golf game. I have recommended your UA-cam lessons to my son and friends.
That is *OUTSTANDING,* Rich - congratulations on a great round!! 💪💪 I’m very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play. My high school golf coach told me to raise my trail elbow parallel to the ground, 90 degrees to the body, and this caused me all kinds of accuracy problems over the years. 35 years later I’m finally fixing it with a tighter elbow. Great advice, thanks!
That's what I was taught by a local pro too. If you look at Jack Nics swing i can see where it's coming from, but it seems like 1 small part of a larger movement. (Tom actually talks about this at 11:00) 11:16
Sadly, Jeff, such sorcery from this dark underworld of golf instruction rarely finds its way to the mainstream because if too many folks found out about it the mainstream would then be rendered irrelevant....... 😎 I'm sorry to learn that that one piece of bad advice haunted your game for all those years, but at least now you know that the best golf of your life is ahead of you! As I just told another person with a similar comment, I am not bothered at all by them! I simply saw in the ignorance of their unqualified, unsubstantiated remarks an excellent teaching opportunity that could benefit the entire community, and based on the overwhelming response I guess it was! 😎 Thanks, Tom
Followed your instructions and went from averaging 95 per round to low 80’s. Your advice is like finding gold in the golf swing! Would be breaking 80 if my pitching game improved a bit more! Anyone that says your instructions don’t work is someone that will never improve their game!
That is *AWESOME,* Tom!! I’m very glad to know that my instruction is resonating with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play. I legitimately could not agree more with having the trail elbow more tucked in. I have changed my golf swing a few times throughout the years (not proud of this) but I have noticed that every time I keep the trail elbow tucked in the more the club stays on plane. Keep posting this information Tom because you’re always spot on with your content!

Hey Tom. I'm an older average golfer off 14. Had many a lesson over the years from teaching pro's and I can honestly tell you that following you has changed my golfing life. I went from shooting mid 80s on my course to consistently mid to low 70s. If only I was a better putter! You are imho the very best golf teacher online. Your instruction is concise and easily understood. Anyone who plays inconsistent golf (which, let's face it, applies to most club golfers) should follow you. I tell everyone I play with but of course, most of them don't listen. Well that's their problem. Keep doing what you do young man. Mike from the UK. Erstwhile golfer and fellow guitarist!

Tom, I love the passion you show in this video! Especially when you explain that a lot of the best changes require practice and are not a 5 minute fix.
I sincerely appreciate your kind words, Steve, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you! We can try to build a "swing" that is a randomly assembled compilation of band-aids, patches, and quick fixes which will not hold up over time or the pressures of play. Or we can embrace a robust *_system_* that conforms to the unchanging realities of Physics, Geometry, and data from the game’s best golf ball strikers. Now, could someone deploy one of these tips to field dress a swing wound? Absolutely. However, it will ultimately serve them far better - and will stand the test of time and pressure - if they adopt and commit to the system in its entirety, and that is precisely what my instruction is all about! Tom I’ve wrote before how Saguto golf has improved my game and I’m now playing the best golf of my life. Your instruction is spot on don’t change a thing or be bothered with non believers. They need to try tucking the right arm before commenting on something they haven’t tried. Go Tom😎
I appreciate that, but believe me - I am not bothered at all by them! I actually appreciated the ignorance of their unqualified, unsubstantiated remarks as I saw within them an excellent teaching opportunity that could benefit the entire community. Tom, I'm just an average golfer that plays close to 70 rounds a year. My main goal is to get enjoyment from my game. Your instructional videos have helped me accomplish that goal over the past two seasons. Your way of teaching and explaining is easy to understand and it offers suggestions that can be immediately taken to the course. I shaved close to 20 strokes off of my score, just 2.5 years ago. I was in the low 100-115 range in 2021 and now I am routinely in the 80's, at 61 years of age. You have a very practical way of teaching a thought process and making it very easy to understand. Too many online guru's over-explain and complicate things. I quit watching other instructors and it cleared up the noise in my head on the course.

Tom, your lessons are the only lessons that have improved my golf game. I started follwoing you and using your tips this past spring(2024), I have dropped 8 to 10 strokes. I was consistantly in the high 90s occasionally low hundreds. Now I am low 90s occasionally I break 90 and shoot an 88 or 89. I do play from the white tees... or whatever color the 3rd set back is on a givin course. I have hit a bit of a plateau though where I don't feel like I am getting better. I play once a week... durring golf league season, twice a week. If I could just hit my hybrids and fairway woods better, I think I could shave off another 3 or 4 strokes... but I hit them so bad, I will go the whole round and just hit driver and my irons.... hybrids and fairway woods... hook after hook after hook... I also follow the channel Miracle Swing Experience. He gives lesson on a Ben Hogan/Byron Nelson type of swing where the swing is just slightly over the top. Take Care... keep the tips coming.
I sincerely appreciate your kind words, and I'm very glad to know that my instruction content is resonating with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing!! 💪💪 Now, with regard to that "plateau", first of all with regard to receiving swing information from different sources, please be careful in navigating the muddied, overly-complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction. It's best to commit to a system - whether it be this body-friendly, powerful, consistent, low-maintenance method or another - put your blinders on, and stick to it. Tom your teaching is straightforward and fun - don't let the detractors change it! That said, I have a theory on this particular topic. Maybe the pushback on 'tucking' or not is really a confusion on what body part is doing the tucking? If someone who watched a clip of your material on this topic and took away "man that guy is asking me to tuck my trail elbow to my body, WTF?" I could get the disbelief. Really, it's 'dude, tuck your trail upper arm to your side and maintain the gap you already have at address for your elbow in your backswing' - crispy gold. What do you think?
I appreciate that, Geoff, and now that you are "armed" with this knowledge I hope you are able to use it to the betterment of your game. I played today and committed to pinning my right arm to my body on the backswing. Hit the ball solid and directional control was a noticeable improvement. My distance control is decent but I struggle with pulls. Still a work in progress but shot 71 today. 2 handicap
Nice round, Arnie! I’m very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play so quickly. With regard to those pulls, here's a short clip from the course on the reason behind a pulled tee shot that I hit. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with the tucked arm! @ I’ve been a believer in stack and tilt forever. You do such a good job in adding polish to the system. Keep up the good work. My golf buddies are sick of me talking about you.
I appreciate that, Bill! I'm accustomed to pushback from the innocently uninformed and the mistaught as well as those misguided naysayers, but it's all inconsequential since this swing model resides in the truth. “Truth" is defined as that which conforms to reality, and this swing system conforms to the unchanging realities of physics, geometry, and data from the game’s best golf ball strikers. That's the truth, and the results - as backed up by countless unsolicited testimonials from men and women across the globe spanning all age ranges and experience levels - are the proof: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Resistance is thusly futile..... 😎 Thanks again for your support! This video is well timed confirmation for me. Keeping the elbow down has greatly helped me with a consistent square club face coming into and at impact. I struggled with a sometimes-closed club face at impact and thought I was doing something inconsistent with my hands or wrists. It finally dawned on me the root cause was being loosey goosey with the right elbow. IMO undisciplined (untucked) right arm/elbow in the backswing causes all kinds of clubface problems. Sometimes I would have a square clubface at impact even with an undisciplined right arm / elbow, but that was only because I happened to nail all the compensating moves on that swing. Much better to eliminate the cause of the problem. Thanks, SagutoGolf Tom! Your tips are gold!
You've nailed it with the "loosey goosey" right elbow, Mark - that's the root of so many swing problems! As you now know, once that variable is eliminated we put our swing on track for consistently crispy and powerful impact. Thanks for your validation and support, and keep up the great work!! Tom
@@SagutoGolf Thank you Tom. Your videos make so much good sense! BTW I think you would enjoy the comment I made on the video that Eric Cogorno posted yesterday with you in it (about left shoulder down at the ball). At the end of the comment I said, "if Superman, Eric, and Tom are all telling me to stay down then I'm gonna' listen". 😊
Tom, you are the best! I took a couple years off from membership on the online instruction course. It took me some time to figure out the computer reapply but, I'm back. Did the year payment plan. Thank you Tom!
I mean you make the same videos and all it does is help reinforce good swing mechanics. I mean it really is as simple as, weight more on lead foot, let the shoulders swing the club, tilt shoulder down to the ball, tuck the elbow, and make sure you have a good grip. Ever since I’ve done that, I hit the ball a million times better, and not only do I hit it better, but I have confidence in those swing and setup thoughts: so I know if I hit the ball bad then I didn’t do one of those things. Tom is the man for real
It really is that simple. Tom, I'm a golf store owner & swing coach from MA: I've had a number of students for whom the "paradigm" of classic teaching styles might not always work, esp considering how many golfers tend to seek me out to help their golf game in consideration of their physical limitations; in many cases my former career as a medical professional has been an advantage to my clientele. At length (sorry, nickname is TLDR), I'd love to have a lesson with you specifically to go over the fundamentals of the stack & tilt method. Some years ago I'd developed great ball-striking from the turf but additionally developed severe leading hip & groin pain and have found your S&T teaching incredibly effective. Cheers and thanks for the great content!
I appreciate your kind words and interest, Tyler! Indeed, the Stack and Tilt swing system I teach is a proven body-friendly method. Beyond validation from professionals in the chiropractic, orthopedic, and physical therapy fields, I can vouch for that through my own personal experience as a golfer who previously experienced back pain, and It is further supported by the fact that a significant percentage of my students and online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built. With regard to in-person instruction, you can find information here: saguto.golf/lessons. Also, please sign up for my email list at go.saguto.golf/ as that is how I will be communicating updates on lesson options and availability as I move toward resuming one-on-one instruction. I hope to get back into it at least on a limited basis in the near future.) Fantastic! My lesson series on this "trail arm magic" has helped countless golfers across the globe to overcome wide variety of issues and experience great ball striking, Glenn. I'm very glad to know that this concept is performing well for you, too! Thanks for sharing your success with it and keep up the great work! 💪💪 Tom
Tom, you’re 100% right on the right arm/elbow position and I love your passion in the rebuttal. Perhaps the “experts” who disagree with you should spend their time watching the ( literally) hundreds of videos on “ shallowing the club in the downswing”, a move that isn’t needed with the good arm structure that you advocate. Also, I love what you said about the haphazard way the average golfer attempts to improve, working on a hundred things instead a short list of the important things that reduce variables. Thanks!
I sincerely appreciate your kind and validating remarks, Glenn! The "experts" are going to do whatever they are going to do, but the bottom line is that every great ball striker gets that tucked trail elbow condition - and thus achieves external rotation of the trail shoulder - at some point prior to impact; some sooner than others. For whatever reason, however, in its apparent infinite "wisdom" modern conventional "instruction" distanced itself from this key component in favor of creating "separation" and "width", because somehow that was supposed to equate to more power (??), and as a result generations of golfers have suffered in the abyss of inconsistency and endless frustration due to misguided teaching and/or their misinterpretation in this regard. If our objective is to construct a consistent, powerful, low-maintenance ball striking machine - and why should it not be? - then we need to minimize those variables that require precise timing and micromanagement of positions. The proper tucking and inward orienting of the trail arm at address presets the structure that will be maintained during the entirety of the motion, and it also facilitates the external rotation of the trail shoulder - a critical element to achieving a properly shallowed downswing path and generating tons of power, thereby optimizing the machine! @@SagutoGolf . Thanks for the link Tom, I will check out the content. I’ve been following S/T model for about 3 years now and have been gradually improving. In fact, I started with one of your online programs. I’m attending a half day camp soon with Jess Frank, Rob Cheney, and Steve Sieracki to reinforce what I’ve learned so far.
Your video from a couple weeks ago really helped me, I had no idea until I filmed myself how far my trail elbow was sticking out. I was also annoyed that in the 4 lessons from a pro I had in the past couple months it wasn’t mentioned once…
Unfortunately, Ryan, such sorcery from this dark underworld of golf instruction rarely finds its way to the mainstream because if too many folks found out about it the mainstream would then be rendered irrelevant....... 😎 Anyway, I’m very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing.. Tom. I have hoped for a consistent swing for a long time until becoming a member and learning the importance of tucking my right arm. My inconsistency was the product of too many things to try to remember. I’ve been working with a divot mat indoors due to New Jersey weather. Spring is on the way Can’t thank you enough. Emil
Tom Your frustration shows here. I’m surprised. Your good natured humor is a major attraction to viewers. Keep that and don’t let the haters bother you. Just tell them that great athletes can rely on talent and timing. The rest of us can’t. If the haters think they are world class athletes ( they probably aren’t since there are very few by definition) then they can rely on timing. If they want to reduce variables, your instruction does that.

Thank you Tom for all your great instructions. Followed your instructions and went from averaging 95 per round to low 80’s. Your advice is like finding gold in the golf swing! Would be breaking 80 if my chipping game improved a bit more! Don't get frustrated, your message is getting out there. It's helped me and if I could just learn to consistently take a divot, that would be the Holy Grail. When I do, I hit amazing shots 95% of the time. And I NEVER took a divot or kept my right arm in the Saguto Position until around a year ago. I still remember vividly the first time it happened with a 7-iron. It was amazing.
There's nothing like the feel - and the sound - of that crispy compression, right Nathan! 💪💪 And while I appreciate your concern, no worries as I am not frustrated at all by those naysayers or their unqualified, unsubstantiated remarks; I simply saw in their ignorance an excellent teaching opportunity that could benefit the entire community. Loved it Tom. Already aligned, and more so now. I can understand its frustrating getting the message across. Perhaps the best way to explain for thise who dont get "keep the elbow tucked in" (and some of us who do but need to hear it again) is "rotate the upper arm inwards as much as possible USING THE SHOULDER JOINT ONLY" Try it with the arm outstretched first, keep the rotation, then bend the elbow to 90 degrees to (almost) touch the front of the R hip. Also, to cut out all the fluffy extra moves in the backswing " The common denominator of all great ball strikers starts from about P6. You can either take the scenic route to get there (and perhaps get lost along the way) or just get there directly" Hope that helps Schaun
I am not frustrated at all by them or their unqualified, unsubstantiated remarks, Schaun; I simply saw in their ignorance an excellent teaching opportunity that could benefit the entire community. Anyway, thanks so much for your validating remarks and for providing the helpful detail! Indeed, if our objective is to construct a consistent, powerful, low-maintenance ball striking machine - and it ought to be - then we need to minimize those variables that require precise timing and micromanagement of positions. The proper tucking and inward orienting of the trail arm at address presets the structure that will be maintained during the entirety of the motion. I don’t care what any of these people say, I have written in my notes on my phone the exact steps you talk about in your videos, and have applied them on the range and course, and have hit the ball amazingly. People will watch 5 minutes and have something to say, I’ve literally watched your 10 hour compilation video that you have on your channel. I know it works, you can’t tell me otherwise 😂
I am not bothered at all by them or their unqualified, unsubstantiated remarks; I simply saw in their ignorance an excellent teaching opportunity that could benefit the entire community. Thanks again for your validation and support! And yes: It. Just. Works.......😎 TS
I know this video was intended to prove the haters wrong, and it was hilarious seeing you prove them wrong one by one. However whether by accident or on purpose on your part, this video really helped drill home this theory for me. Thanks Tom.
That's no accident! Many years ago, circa 1958 or 1960, WGN TV in Chicago used to play a series of short golf instruction videos by Dow Finsterwald during rain delays in Cubs' baseball games and the 1 drill I remember seeing was tucking a towel or a rag under the trail arm to promote a proper swing. Here,ou have confirmed the wisdom of Mr. Finsterwald that he dispensed so long ago. To see the late, great, Champagne Tony Lema illustrate this same fundamental is wonderfully nostalgic, may the Almighty rest his soul. Some facts about the swing are immutable, IMO, and keeping the trail arm close to the body is one. Great video. PS Your 'stache is looking good.
I sincerely appreciate your nostalgic references and validation of this critical and timeless swing element! For whatever reason, in its apparent infinite "wisdom", modern conventional "instruction" distanced itself key component in favor of creating "separation" and "width", because somehow that was supposed to equate to more power (??), and as a result generations of golfers have suffered in the abyss of inconsistency and endless frustration. Instead, if our objective is to construct a consistent, powerful, low-maintenance ball striking machine - and it ought to be - then we need to minimize those variables that require precise timing and micromanagement of positions. The proper tucking and inward orienting of the trail arm at address presets the structure that will be maintained during the entirety of the motion. We can then hand over control to the big muscles of the shoulders and the machine will be optimized! Thanks again for your support of my teachings (and stache 😎)!! Tom
I’m a geezer trying to piece together a decent swing just so I can hit the local par 3 courses for a little exercise. This elbow tuck looks like the last thing I need to work on. Tried it at the range yesterday - and it was hard. Hard because I was trying to keep it fully pinned down. I see now I should let a ‘little’ gap exist as I rotate. Have to experiment at the range on the next ‘warmer’ winter day. I think you do a great job with explaining and your passion for teaching.
I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you, Hank!! It is certainly acceptable to have a few inches of space between the trail elbow and the torso at the top, just like I have in my swing. The key is that the arm has not lost its "tucked" orientation and the elbow is definitely not flying away, meaning that it is in perfect position to naturally reconnect in the downswing without any timed or contrived effort. Every great ball striker gets that tucked trail elbow condition at some point prior to impact; some sooner than others. "Gluing" it in there is a "feel" that is necessary for golfers with CFED (Chronic Flying Elbow Disease 😎) to achieve this desired action - at least until they have properly ingrained it. As for "piecing together a decent swing", how about we do a bit better than that so you can _really_ enjoy your "exercise"? Tom You should analyze Garrett Clark's golf swing from Good Good. He is a GREAT example of that right elbow tucked on the downswing. He is the poster child for how this works in my opinion, and since he is not a Tour pro it would be a great way to showcase for your students and viewers how much this actually WORKS for everyone. Always love your content by the way! Keep pumping out the TRUTH and here is to helping as many people as you can in your crusade to crispy golf shots

Tom don’t take my remarks too serious. With or without mustache is not important but having said that what the ladies are saying is very important. I am with you about that. Have a great 2025.
Tom, I think the point many or all of the naysayers are missing, is the fact that for touring pros who let their elbows fly a little or a lot at the top, this is their 9-5...it's their job! They have the endless hours necessary to perfect the timing required to untuck and then re-attach their elbows before impact. But the overwhelming majority of us do not have the luxury of being able to spend hours each day perfecting our swings. And as you've proven with your own swing and many of your students, myself included, is that it's simply not necessary in order to hit great golf shots. The golf swing can be a difficult thing to master, especially when we're trying to do ten different things in the second or two it takes to hit the ball. Simplifying the swing is what you do for us Tom, and I think I speak for many others when I say...THANK YOU!!!
Very well said, Jeff! And here's the thing: Every great ball striker gets that tucked trail elbow condition - and thus achieves external rotation of the trail shoulder - at some point prior to impact; some sooner than others. "Gluing" it in there is a "feel" that is necessary for most amateurs to achieve this desired action - at least until they have properly ingrained it. In fact, unsolicited feedback confirms that my lesson series on this "trail arm magic" has helped countless golfers across the globe to overcome wide variety of issues and experience crispy ball striking and explosive, effortless power. So, amateurs can do their best to mimic some of those top players in the world - truly gifted athletes who despite their God-given talents have still had to spend countless hours hitting thousands of balls per week to dial in their respective unique and idiosyncratic motions and precise timing. Or they can opt for a low-maintenance, body-friendly, equally powerful swing system rooted in physics and geometry, modeled on empirical data from the game's greatest ball strikers, and yes - fully on display at every Tour event. Thanks so much for your message and support, and keep it crispy out there!! Tom
@@SagutoGolf Thank you Tom. I'm happy you did this video. I feel there's a couple of things working against the average person in today's world. One is information overload, which works to our detriment when combined with the incessant need for instant gratification that's so common in today. You can't possibly know if a certain golf tip you see or hear about has any merit unless you put in the time required to find out. And trust me it's not five or ten minutes! What I have experienced time and again when trying something new, is I'll be so focused on the "New Thing," that I'll unknowingly experience a break down in some other core fundamental. It's easy to dismiss something new if it doesn't produce great results IMMEDIATELY!!! When often the real culprit is you're either not executing the new move properly, or it's causing some other part of your swing to break down simply because you're not accustomed to doing it. I'll end this with a well established FACT in the world of engineering and machinery. The more moving parts you can eliminate from any piece of machinery, the more efficient that machine becomes. The golf swing is no different, and our bodies are the machines that make the swing efficient...or not.
When I practiced with towel under my trail arm, keeping my elbow tucked, it DRASTICALLY improved my ball striking, distance control, and overall consistency. Yea it may move a bit at the top but if I don’t get it tucked back as quick as possible my swing goes off the rails. It worked for me.
Nice job, Tyler! As mentioned in this video, it is certainly acceptable to have a few inches of space between the trail elbow and the torso at the top, just like I have in my swing. The key is that the arm has not lost its "tucked" orientation and the elbow is definitely not flying away, meaning that it is in perfect position to reconnect in the downswing. I tried this today on a rare nice late December day. I had some serious mishits but was encouraged by the more powerful ball flight and some draw shots. Is it the case that you should feel the connection high up the inside of the inner trail arm rather than the low? Also you seem to advocate the elbow of the trail arm pointing down. This is different than the old head cover under the lead arm, that always made me feel like I was in a straight jacket. I’m going to give this a try as it does seem to fix the the path and over the top problem in so many swings including mine. Great communication in your videos. And I don’t think you need to waste time defending your concepts too much. The proof is in the many swings of great golfers that tuck the trail arm in. What I see in the videos is pretty indisputable. Keep up the good work and ignore the goof ball haters dropping silly comments.
I appreciate your kind and supportive remarks, Daniel, and I'm glad to learn that you are understanding the benefits of a properly tucked arm. Every great ball striker gets that tucked trail elbow condition - and thus achieves external rotation of the trail shoulder - at some point prior to impact; some sooner than others. Now, as mentioned in the video it is certainly acceptable to have a few inches of space between the trail elbow and the torso at the top, just like I have in my swing. The key is that the arm has not lost its "tucked" orientation and the elbow is definitely not flying away, meaning that it is in perfect position to naturally reconnect in the downswing without any timed or contrived effort. The light bulb moment for me was in your flying right elbow demonstrations that the palm was more apt to turn facing forward than facing up leading to a more vertical club position in the back swing. Makes more sense to keep the elbow tucked in.

It seems to simplify and compact the swing. I ran into a guy who said my advice while playing a round with him many years ago changed his game. He said I told him to keep his elbow down and in and he has been hitting driver 300 yards ever since. I should have listened to my own advice haha! LPGA tour too. At the chevron major earlier this year some of the biggest hitters were bombing drives looking like hogans rope around the arms picture. Both elbows down and arms close together. I promise for their size they were maximizing length and accuracy. I’d take their game in a heartbeat.

That is fantastic, Jim!! The swing system I teach is indeed a proven body-friendly method. By the way, if you've not already joined, have you considered enrolling in the online school and taking your learning - and your game - to the next level? That's where - in addition to detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish - you'll find diagnostic tools for identifying/resolving swing and ball flight issues when they arise, plus advanced level instruction, and much more. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result, and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. I hope you'll give the school some thought. Thanks so much for your support and keep up the great work!! 💪💪 Tom
Tough to break these bad habits. I think I am at the point with this that i think i am tucking enough but i am not as you mentioned about your friend in a previous video. Working it.
Those ghosts of swings past are stubborn and don't give up without a fight, Stephen. That is the "feel vs. real" battle you are presently dealing with. Maintaining that tucked trail elbow orientation facilitates the proper external rotation of the arm and shoulder and makes for a seamless transition into a powerful downswing path. And since this is likely something that you have not felt before, it does help to really exaggerate it until such point that it is ingrained. Tom, can you speak to keeping the trail arm tucked while at the same time avoiding pinning the lead arm to the chest? Would that be maintaining the triangle in the backswing, or is there a better rotational feel/swing thought?
Hi Jeff, With a properly connected and oriented trail arm the lead arm can only cross the chest the prescribed 45 degrees and not any more than that. The only way the lead arm gets "pinned" is if we allow the trail arm/elbow to slide back along the side of our torso - a move that I refer to as "slot-machining". And while there is certainly content on my channel that addresses this topic, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lessons and drills, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Thanks, Tom Saguto, PGA
I'm very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you, John, and now that you are armed with this knowledge I hope you are able to use it to the betterment of your game! The trail arm begins to extend naturally - in other words, without any conscious or manufactured action - halfway down, and it will achieve full extension just after impact. Dear Coach, I personally love the video where you missed the ball to prove a point because when the arm is untucked and allows the shoulder to extend during the swing, which changes the distance from the ball in relation to where you were at set up where you are at
Did you actually watch this video, because it's all covered in there?!!!!! Every great ball striker gets that tucked trail elbow condition - and thus achieves external rotation of the trail shoulder - at some point prior to impact; some sooner than others. Anyway, my job is to inform, not to convince. So if it is your desire to let that elbow fly and do your best to mimic some of those top players in the world - truly gifted athletes who despite their God-given talents have still had to spend countless hours hitting thousands of balls per week to dial in their respective unique and idiosyncratic motions and precise timing - then you are certainly free to do so. As for me and my house - of several hundred thousand students, members, and subs - we opt for a low-maintenance, body-friendly, powerful swing system rooted in physics and geometry, modeled on empirical data from the game's greatest ball strikers, and yes - fully on display at every Tour event. The results speak quite well for themselves: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Tom Saguto, PGA
I had no idea how to play golf until I joined your school. Nobody explains the fundamentals better than you do, and I've probably watched every UA-cam golf "expert" that has a channel. I didn't realize the tucked trail arm was so controversial. To me, it's common sense. When I DON'T do it, my game is a disaster.
I sincerely appreciate your kind words, and I'm very glad to know that my lesson content and teaching style are resonating with you and providing clarity and simplicity in the muddied, overly complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction. I haven’t been getting to play much because I’ve been deer hunting, but I do still watch your videos. If I didn’t watch your videos I’d quit a long time ago. Well.. Deer Hunting, feeding the family wins!! Happy new year!! I'd rather be doing what your doing than me, 1700 Mike's from home in the midwest for another month. Godspeed

Not really on topic, but I think you live near Myrtle beach. Good place to live? Would you recommend it? Weather is good for golfing? Happy Christmas, Happy Chanukah.
Thank you! And a Blessed and Merry Christmas to you and yours! It is a wonderful area to live, and I highly recommend it! And yes, despite the occasional winter cold snaps - which really are not _that_ cold to folks who are accustomed to northern winters - and some sweltering summer days, the weather is very good for year-round golf. If you are serious about purchasing a home here at some point int he future, I know an excellent realtor so feel free to post a new comment and I will put you in touch. Tom
i really think it's m0re helpful to say the tuckage is paramount when getting int0 impact. i d0n't think it's helpful f0r a lot 0f g0fers to say you must keep it tucked during the entire swing , it really is quite restrictive in the way it feels. love your videos.
It's really not restrictive at all when done properly. Anyway, as mentioned in this video, it is certainly acceptable to have a few inches of space between the trail elbow and the torso at the top, just like I have in my swing. Thanks - I'm glad to know that you are enjoying my content! Tom I couldnt agree with you more. Could you show some examples of other sports that keep the upper arm in? LIke javlin throwers or softball pithers or hockey players
I suppose I could, Dale, but there's no real need to as this is golf and every great ball striker in _THIS_ game gets that tucked trail elbow condition - and thus achieves external rotation of the trail shoulder - at some point prior to impact; some sooner than others. So, if our objective is to construct a consistent, powerful, low-maintenance ball striking machine - and it ought to be - then we need to minimize those variables that require precise timing and micromanagement of positions. The proper tucking and inward orienting of the trail arm at address presets the structure that will be maintained during the entirety of the motion, and it eliminates the variable of the precise timing and exactitude needed to properly reconnect that arm in the motion if we were to allow that elbow to get away from us. It was not until after observing how my playing partners were able to consistently make contact with the ball with their trail arms tucked closer to their bodies and imitating their movements that I started hitting fewer airballs and worm burners. I still have occasionally frustrating relapses but once I calm down and smooth out my tempo I’m rewarded by that sweet “snick” of the ball kissing the club face and going airborne.
Indeed, every great ball striker gets that tucked trail elbow condition at some point prior to impact; some sooner than others. As such, it makes sense to preset the connection and inward orientation of the elbow rather than having to manufacture some type of reconnecting move mid-swing, right? As such it is no surprise that unsolicited feedback confirms that my lesson series on this "trail arm magic" has helped countless golfers across the globe to overcome wide variety of issues and experience crispy ball striking and explosive, effortless power. I'm very glad to know that this concept is performing well for you, too! As mentioned in the video, the elbow in the ribcage is an exaggerated feel that is helpful for folks who have never previously experienced the level of connection and structure that we are striving for. In actuality, it is certainly acceptable to have a few inches of space between the trail elbow and the torso at the top, just like I have in my swing.. I have absolutely conveyed it that way as well in other videos, Francis. In fact, I do my best to offer multiple “feels” or thoughts throughout the swing wherever possible. We're all different physiologically and psychologically, and something that resonates effectively with one golfer may not necessarily work for another. However, no matter the variety of suggested feels/thoughts offered for a particular element of the swing, they are all directed at getting different golfers to achieve the desired positions, motions, and results. This is why I routinely recommend the online school - saguto.golf - to anyone who truly wishes to experience the joys of consistent, powerful, body-friendly ball striking bliss. The sequential lessons and drills provide the guidelines and set the boundaries, while allowing ample leeway for each individual golfer to infuse and exercise their own uniqueness. I think what people see is that flexible golfers who have 90-degree plus turns in the backswing, you see the attached shoulder turn to get most of the way there and then a little more depth by continuing with the arms when the back and shoulders are as far as they can go. That makes it look like the elbow is flying out because it's going past the body. Even for most good players, a full turn of the hips and shoulders give a lot of depth with the back arm attached. You might a little deeper and subsequently get a touch more speed, but you have to time reconnecting on the downswing. On a related note, my comment on a previous video mentioned my current instructor wanting some separation to get depth in the backswing and maybe this is what he means... still tucked but with the elbow a hair further from the body. I might have prejudged him (though I still agree it's an other variable and potential inefficiency).
If you want to take it back a bit further and are okay with a little bit of separation, then my suggestion in that regard would be to ensure that the arm retains that "tucked" orientation (i.e.: externally rotated) as this will encourage a proper reconnect on the way down. Is it a variable? Yes. But it is one that can be appropriately managed if done correctly so that the elbow doesn't get away from us and thereby reorient the arm into a swing-wrecking position. TS
It's getting to the stage where every damn video you make, makes something click in my head. I'm booked at the range for tomorrow and I can't wait to try what I was just doing in the yard because that swing suddenly started to feel incredible when I just exaggerated the tucked arm and basically just using hip and body fire. The velocity, coupled with repeatability and accuracy is so much higher when youre not trying to get extra power from your arms which often leads to the separation as people try and get their club as far from the ground as possible. Tuck that arm in and firing your hips literally does the whole job. Nothing else has to move.
It truly can eliminate all that overly complicated minutiae and turn our swing into a "set it and forget it" ball striking machine, Ken. I'm very glad to know that my instruction content and teaching style are resonating with you, and I hope you had a most productive range session!! Thanks for your message and support!! Ideally, we should simply "allow" the hand and wrist actions - i.e.: clubface control - to happen without forcing anything. In other words, if we have a secure grip, pre-establish the connections properly in the setup, and have a foundational base that facilitates a full centered turn without restriction, then once we've ingrained the correct positions through sequential drilling and repetition we can entrust the motion to the big muscles and allow the wrists, hands, and club to simply go along for the ride and respond accordingly as if on autopilot. The power accumulators - including the proper wrist and hand action - will then naturally load and fire with no contrived manipulations or precise timing necessary, thereby returning the face to the position pre-established at address. We are minimizing variables and building a ball striking machine, and the golfer will find that as trust builds in the shoulders will rotate freely and the "machine" will then be optimized. It's called "giving up control to gain control", and it's the formula for consistently blissful ball striking and seemingly effortless power. And while I certainly have other videos that address this topic, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews Thanks, Tom Saguto, PGA
Hey Saguto, I had a -8 in to out swing and my coach is trying to fix this to increase compression/height/distance. However, by trying to come out to in or at least have the feeling of it, my take away is disconnecting my elbow from my torso... How do I keep connected whilst still stopping from coming in to out -8d?
Hi Johnny, I would need to see your swing in order to properly ascertain the root cause of your overly-shallowed path so we could actually fix it instead of slapping a band-aid on it and perhaps causing other issues as a result.

My high school golf coach told me to raise my trail elbow parallel to the ground, 90 degrees to the body, and this caused me all kinds of accuracy problems over the years. 35 years later I’m finally fixing it with a tighter elbow. Great advice, thanks!
sue him!
I'm sorry to learn that that one piece of bad advice haunted your game for all those years, but at least now you know that the best golf of your life is ahead of you! Tom, don't let critics bother you. Your helping so many golfers get consistently better. Thanks

Thanks,

Thanks so much for your message and support!

Tom I’ve wrote before how Saguto golf has improved my game and I’m now playing the best golf of my life. Your instruction is spot on don’t change a thing or be bothered with non believers. They need to try tucking the right arm before commenting on something they haven’t tried. Go Tom😎

Now, with regard to that "plateau", first of all with regard to receiving swing information from different sources, please be careful in navigating the muddied, overly-complicated, oft-conflicting realm of golf instruction.

This posting might be your most insightful video yet.
I definitely have benefited by watching your videos. Thank you, Tom.

Tom, you are the best! I took a couple years off from membership on the online instruction course. It took me some time to figure out the computer reapply but, I'm back. Did the year payment plan. Thank you Tom!
Awesome, Robert! I'm thrilled to have you back onboard, and I hope you enjoy the new school platform!!
Tom
I mean you make the same videos and all it does is help reinforce good swing mechanics. I mean it really is as simple as, weight more on lead foot, let the shoulders swing the club, tilt shoulder down to the ball, tuck the elbow, and make sure you have a good grip. Ever since I’ve done that, I hit the ball a million times better, and not only do I hit it better, but I have confidence in those swing and setup thoughts: so I know if I hit the ball bad then I didn’t do one of those things. Tom is the man for real
It really is that simple. My biggest challenge is in finding different ways to say it!......😆😆
I’m very glad to know that my instruction for this wonderful swing system is resonating with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing and putting it into play.
Thanks so much for your support in sharing your *_DRAMATIC_* improvement and resulting confidence, and keep up the great work!! 💪💪

(With the exception of my swing video analysis service, I have been on a hiatus from personal lessons in order to reappropriate my time to online school upgrades and enhancements. I hope to get back into it at least on a limited basis in the near future.)
As for the online school, if you have not yet joined then I highly recommend giving it your consideration as it is designed to get golfers on the fast track towards properly learning this swing system in a comprehensive, structured, sequential platform. The school is where you will find very detailed lessons and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish, along with diagnostic and corrective tools for resolving common swing, contact, and ball flight issues, and much more. Definitely one of if not the most valuable tip you've given me in getting a consistent golf swing!
Fantastic! My lesson series on this "trail arm magic" has helped countless golfers across the globe to overcome wide variety of issues and experience great ball striking, Glenn. I'm very glad to know that this concept is performing well for you, too!
Thanks for sharing your success with it and keep up the great work! 💪💪
Tom
Thanks again for your message and support. Keep it tucked, keep it crispy!!

Anyway, I’m very glad to know that this lesson resonated with you; excellent job incorporating it into your swing.. Thanks so much for validating it with your immediate improvement and keep up the great work!! 💪💪

Tom. I have hoped for a consistent swing for a long time until becoming a member and learning the importance of tucking my right arm. My inconsistency was the product of too many things to try to remember. I’ve been working with a divot mat indoors due to New Jersey weather. Spring is on the way Can’t thank you enough. Emil
Thanks, Emil. Glad to hear the tuck is bringing you consistency, and I hope that y'all get an early spring up there!

Your frustration shows here.
You've misread me on this one, Martin! I am not bothered at all by them. Instead, I simply saw in the ignorance of their unqualified, unsubstantiated remarks an excellent teaching opportunity that could benefit the entire community, and based on the overwhelming response I guess it was! 😎
Thanks - I appreciate your concern and support!

Thank you Tom for all your great instructions. I’ve only been learning the golf swing for 3 months now and I’ve learned I can’t even make contact with the driver without the trail arm tucked in and the right shoulder tilted toward the ball at contact. I just had to be patient, but I am a believer now. Thank you!

Love your videos and am going totally change my game. took a couple years off, been playing for over 50 yrs. had ot have hip replacement past year. Anyways, this video reminds me of a lesson a old timer gave me back in like 70 when was working as a caddy. He saw me swinging and told me. here put this towel under you right arm and hold it against your body, Swing the club and keep the towel there. if you can keep practicing that. along with the grip that is probably the best swing thing you can do for a nice smooth swing also Hit the ball hard, dont swing hard, hit the ball hard
Welcome back, Charles!! I sincerely appreciate your kind words, along with your time-tested validation of this lesson and the critical importance of the trail arm connection!

One does not need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. I hope you'll give the school some thought.

Tom, I had to make a bit of a right hand grip change to do this but have been working on this based on a previous video you posted. My ball speed went up 9 mph with this simple change. Being a senior player, that’s not insignificant. As I get it more dialed in, expect more gains. Thanks Tom.

Followed your instructions and went from averaging 95 per round to low 80’s. Your advice is like finding gold in the golf swing! Would be breaking 80 if my chipping game improved a bit more! Anyone that says your instructions don’t work is someone that will never improve their game! You will hit it more solid, hit ball then ground, have a consistent swing without swinging faster but hitting the ball farther, and more accurately from tee to green!!! Thanks Tom for the epiphany!!!

Just shot a round where my only swing thought was keeping the trail arm tucked in. Almost all crispy shots. Shot 81, as an 11 handicap. My misses were hitting the ball too far and going past the green. Tom, you're the best - ignore those critics.

External rotation of the trail shoulder (and keeping it there) is crucial.....great video Tom
Indeed it is, Paul, and every great ball striker does it.
Thanks for your message and support!
Tom
You can either take the scenic route to get there (and perhaps get lost along the way) or just get there directly"
Hope that helps
Schaun
We can then hand over control to the big muscles of the shoulders and the machine will be optimized!
Tom
I don’t care what any of these people say, I have written in my notes on my phone the exact steps you talk about in your videos, and have applied them on the range and course, and have hit the ball amazingly. People will watch 5 minutes and have something to say, I’ve literally watched your 10 hour compilation video that you have on your channel. I know it works, you can’t tell me otherwise 😂

The best thing, I’ve been playing pretty average for most of my life, now at 55 I’m finally striking the ball cleaner every time, I’m in love with the game again!

Tom, in my opinion this is one of your best videos. Simply well explained super funny too. I love your responses to all the naysayers. Really made my day. LOL Keep up the good work.

You should analyze Garrett Clark's golf swing from Good Good.

Every great ball striker gets that tucked trail elbow condition at some point prior to impact; some sooner than others. "Gluing" it in there is a "feel" that is necessary for most amateurs to achieve this desired action - at least until they have properly ingrained it.
Thanks for validating this key swing element with your success and keep up the great work!!

The elbow in the ribcage is an exaggerated feel that is helpful for folks who have never previously experienced the level of connection and structure that we are striving for.

I’d take their game in a heartbeat.

i've got back problems and if not for your videos i would not be playing ... tuck and shoulders saved my back ... thank you
That is fantastic, Jim!!
The swing system I teach is indeed a proven body-friendly method.
The value in terms of what you get for the low price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet.
And if you would like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that is delivering the referenced results.
As you are now coming to understand, one does not need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. I hope you'll give the school some thought.
Thanks so much for your support and keep up the great work!! 💪💪

And while there is certainly other content on my channel that addresses this topic, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lessons and drills, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews

Tom, can you speak to keeping the trail arm tucked while at the same time avoiding pinning the lead arm to the chest? Would that be maintaining the triangle in the backswing, or is there a better rotational feel/swing thought?
Hi Jeff,
With a properly connected and oriented trail arm the lead arm can only cross the chest the prescribed 45 degrees and not any more than that. The only way the lead arm gets "pinned" is if we allow the trail arm/elbow to slide back along the side of our torso - a move that I refer to as "slot-machining".

The trail arm begins to extend naturally - in other words, without any conscious or manufactured action - halfway down, and it will achieve full extension just after impact.

Dear Coach, I personally love the video where you missed the ball to prove a point because when the arm is untucked and allows the shoulder to extend during the swing, which changes the distance from the ball in relation to where you were at set up where you are at
How do you attain width in your swing if you keep your right now tight and tucked ?
Scotty? Wide takeaway

Did you actually watch this video, because it's all covered in there?!!!!!
Every great ball striker gets that tucked trail elbow condition - and thus achieves external rotation of the trail shoulder - at some point prior to impact; some sooner than others.
The results speak quite well for themselves: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews

Anyway, I'm thrilled for your dramatic improvement, and I am most grateful for your validating testimonial for the online school and this body-friendly, consistent, powerful swing system.
Thanks so much for your support and keep up the fantastic work!!

I haven’t been getting to play much because I’ve been deer hunting, but I do still watch your videos. If I didn’t watch your videos I’d quit a long time ago. I can watch your videos and my game is much better. If I could just remember what you say do all the time I’d be a decent golfer. Thanks Tom. BTW I’m 68. OLD!! 😂
Well.. Deer Hunting, feeding the family wins!!
Happy new year!! I'd rather be doing what your doing than me, 1700 Mike's from home in the midwest for another month. Godspeed
LOL! I appreciate knowing that, Rickey, and I wish you a successful hunting season!!
By the way, with regard to "remembering", I would be remiss if I didn't mention that a significant percentage of my online school members are in their 60's, 70's, and 80's - i.e.: a smorgasbord of chronic ailments, physical limitations, back/shoulder/knee/hip pain, arthritis, and joint replacements - and they are overwhelmingly elated to experience the dramatic pain-free game improvement, seemingly effortless power, and resulting enjoyment that this swing affords them. It all begins with a proper setup which provides for a free-flowing motion. Upon that good foundation a repeatable swing which produces consistently crispy impact can be built.
Have you looked into the comprehensive, sequential learning platform of the online school yet? That's where - among many other courses and lessons covering various aspects of the game - you will find very detailed instruction and drills that take you through the entire swing step-by-step, position-by-position from setup to finish. Thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - are now enjoying the best golf of their lives as a result and their unsolicited testimonials tell the story quite well: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews. The value in terms of what you get for the low price point is beyond comprehension, and based on proven results it represents by far the best golf instruction deal on the planet.
And if you'd like to first "dip a toe in the water" prior to diving into the school, then here is a link to my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that is delivering the referenced results.
One does not need the flexibility of a Romanian gymnast - or even of this far less pliable golf instructor - to execute this swing, experience great ball striking, and reclaim - or even exceed - yardages from years past. After you've tagged and bagged your last deer of the season, I hope you'll give the school some thought so we can take your golf game to "decent" and well beyond!! 😎
Thanks for your message and support!

Best lessons ever! It is gospel truth
Thanks David! “Truth" is defined as that which conforms to reality, and this swing system conforms to the unchanging realities of physics, geometry, and data from the game’s best golf ball strikers. Resistance is thusly futile..... 😎

@@SagutoGolf Thanks Tom. Merry Christmas to you too. I'm not ready to move yet, but planning for the future. Appreciate it man. All the best.
Those negative comments are clueless, they didn’t even bother to check your videos with your swings what really tucked elbow is.
i really think it's m0re helpful to say the tuckage is paramount when getting int0 impact. i d0n't think it's helpful f0r a lot 0f g0fers to say you must keep it tucked during the entire swing , it really is quite restrictive in the way it feels. love your videos.
It's really not restrictive at all when done properly.
Anyway, as mentioned in this video, it is certainly acceptable to have a few inches of space between the trail elbow and the torso at the top, just like I have in my swing.

On the downswing absolutely. On the backswing I feel like a fully tucked elbow restricts movement.
Saguto just say to keep your elbows together as best you can through out your swing then your tucked position will optimize the accuracy and strike.

@SagutoGolf thanks! I'll check out the course!
Is there anyway you can do a club face awareness video. I have trouble on trying to figure out what the club face is supposed to do in the golf swing.
And while I certainly have other videos that address this topic, a more structured option would be my FREE mini course “The Top 3 Keys You Need to Be a Great Ball Striker”: go.saguto.golf/ Featuring 17 videos and 45 minutes of detailed lesson and drill content, this is a great way to gain a fundamental understanding of this system as well as an introduction to the formal learning method that has countless thousands of men and women from across the globe - including many accomplished, low-handicap, competitive players and spanning all age ranges from junior to super-senior - now enjoying the best golf of their lives: saguto.golf/p/sagutogolfreviews

Hi Johnny,
I would need to see your swing in order to properly ascertain the root cause of your overly-shallowed path so we could actually fix it instead of slapping a band-aid on it and perhaps causing other issues as a result. To this end I do offer a swing video analysis service. Here is a link where you can learn more about this: saguto.golf/lessons
