Are you tired of relying on your phone for navigation while riding your motorcycle, driving your car or truck, or even using a Garmin watch? Look no further!
In this video, I will show you a game-changing method of exporting your Google Maps route to a GPX file that can be easily imported onto your Garmin satnav, TomTom or Garmin watch. This is something that even Google says can't be done, but I'll prove otherwise.
Not only will you learn how to export your Google Maps route, but you'll also discover the power of MyRouteApp, a tool that allows you to shape your route, customise your waypoints, and optimise your trip. It's the perfect tool for motorcycle riders, drivers, cyclists and walkers looking to plan their next adventure.
And, with MyRoute App's offline functionality, you can use your GPX file even in a remote area with a spotty internet connection.
In this comprehensive tutorial, I'll walk you through the entire process, from exporting your Google Maps route to a GPX file to using MyRoute App for route planning, and ultimately, navigating with your GPX file on your Garmin or TomTom device or any other device or app that uses GPX 1.1 track, route and POI files.

it does not work, I received this message:
"WARNING
Trying to access array offset on value of type null
Please go back and check your Maps link and retry, if this error persists then please check again in a few hours"
Great just what I was looking for and works a treat 👍
Glad I could help
Hi! Thank you for this video. I will try this for sure. I am running the Tokyo Marathon in March, and they have provided the course map. It's a google map. I wanted to upload it to my fenix 7s courses, so I can create a pace strategy. I have been trying to find a way to convert the link to a gpx file, which is the only file Garmin accepts🤓, so thank you for this. Very helpful!
I am pleased you have found it helpful. There are also other ways to create GPX files from Google Maps, so do let me know if I can be of any help.
Thank you, very useful explanation.
Just subscribed, this is what I was looking for, thanks. I have a Beeline Sat Nav on order and I understand that I will be able to import GPX files to it. Fingers crossed.
Thank you for subscribing. It seems the owner of the maps2gpx site has limited the service, although I tested it this morning and it still seems to be working fine for me. I have sent the site and software developer an email, and as soon as I have more info, I'll post it here. Could you let me know if you have any issues by adding a comment? Thanks again for subscribing and posting.
@@btcbiker I followed your instructions as a test this morning and was able to use maps2gpx to create a GPX file from Google maps with no issues. Just waiting for
my Beeline Sat Nav now.
Very helpful and useful information and well explained too. thankyou, subscribed

My pleasure

Thanks 👍👍👍
You are very welcome, I hope you find it useful, I know I use this all the time. :)
In your viideo you ask why anyone would want to save a google map route as a gpx - well heres why I need it. I ride a motorcycle that has a built in GPS program in it. It is easier to create a map in Google and import it into the Ride Command program i am using than to create it in the bikes program - mainly because i can more easily manipulate the map in Google.
Thank you for commenting and for your explanation. A friend of mine also commented on this point. He said that when he's on a trip, it's easier to create a map in google maps and then export to gpx and send to his Garmin from his mobile. So now two people have mentioned this, I might do another video that's not PC based and more mobile based. What navigation device is on your motorcycle?
Thank you
thank you . thank you
You are welcome!
When you say Luton Airport you have to say it in Lorraine Chase's voice.....it's the law.
I'll keep that in mind :)
The gpx site is not working properly
Great content, but unfortunately the export of the route from "Maps to GPX" isn't a stand alone GPX file, but a HTML file which I can't open with my SYGIC APP
Not for me it isn't. As I demonstrate in the video, it's a GPX1.1 file. You must be doing something different to me.
thanks for the tutorial. can you tell me if we can save a 'timeline' travel as a gpx so we can go there again?
Good question. I don't think you can, but if you find the answer, please would you make a new comment and tell us all?
@@btcbiker You can export your timeline to KML file. Open Your timeline, choose the day, then choose option to export to KML. I usually export the KML to google my maps, ( it's add layer to your basemap), so i can follow the track without navigating.
BTC Would love if you could do a tutorial on lowrance HDS Live and upload a GPX file for navigation.
I race and use my lowrance HDS12 and HDS 9 bot on the track (waypoints) and would love to have actual maps like google or garmin type for streets and highways....any help?
I dot have a Lowrance device, so it's not likely I'm afraid.
Hi, thank you very much for this. However, when I paste the google map link into mapstogpx is states it's no a supported file type. Any ideas to resolve this???
You need to use the link from where I showed you in the video. Not the google maps link. I just tried it and it works.
how do upload gpx file in to google maps for navigation ?
You have to use Google My Maps.
Great video. Very helpful.. Another observation : Bitcoin and etherium are great crypto coins.. Any chance on doing video for crypto newbies?
Hi there. I had planned on do more crypto videos and did post them for. a while, but I had so many idiots posting stupid comments and then pretending to be me in the comments to scam people I stopped.
I do have another channel where I post all sorts of my stuff, including a few more videos on Crypto. I even have a Bitcoin price prediction that i made there. You just have to either scroll through the videos, or use the playlists. Go to UA-cam dot com and then add a / and @flipinheck. UA-cam won't let me post the link here, but I'm sure you get it.
Thanks for your support.
Cheers.
How to open this file ??
Hi there,
The video is about how to create a GPX file from a Google Maps route. I demonstrate how you could open a GPX file in MyRouteApp in the video, make sure you watch the whole video to see that.
There are many applications that will open a GPX file for further editing, but that defeats the point of making a route in Google Maps in the first place.
GPX files are route files that are used by navigation devices such as Garmin and TomTom as well as other mobile navigation apps like Calimoto for example.
This video is not about "How to open a file" it's about how to make a file from a Google Route...
Cheers, Will - 😎
There is an offline map at google map
Hi Toni, thanks for commenting and joining the conversation. Yes there is, you are correct. But this video is about how to create a GPX file from Google Maps for people who use navigation devices such as Garmin and TomTom. Cheers, Will - 😎
