Thanks for this , I just bought my first garmin it’ll be delivered today, I got the edge 530
Getting mine tomorrow!
Thanks Clint. Just what I needed for my JAX to Key West ride coming up this weekend.
Hi Clint, I don't know if you remember me but I meet you a few years ago in Alachua a day before a race. I always watching your videos, your explanation is so plain and simple, finally with this video I understood how to load a map in my Garmin. Thanks 👍
Sweet! I was having the hardest time -- glad I found this video. Thanks Clint!!!
Thank you for this detailed introduction, it was very useful and easy to follow how to plan a route and send it to my Garmin Edge 830.
Thank you for this video. I was able to follow along and get my route over to my Edge 530
Wow, thanks so much for this! I just got a Garmin 530, and was struggling with instructions I'd found. Your video was perfect!!!
Marvelous. I followed your guidance and it worked. For the non tech types(me) this was straightforward. Thanks Clint
Looking forward to the Trail Forks video!
Really simple to do. Thanks!
Thanks very much Clint, very informative and clear instructions.
Just got my Garmin 530. Thanks for this video. It was really helpful
Thanks Clint . Great easy to follow. Can't wait for the trailforks version now
Thank you so much for this video. I was unable to connect to computer and download with USB, but this worked and is a simpler way to do it anyway
Exactly what I needed to know for my new 830. Thanks!
Thanks for making this video. Worked great.
Great info! Thanks Clint!
This is perfect…..easy and quick
Clint I love this video because it's been such a problem...if I take a map from one of our ride leaders and take it from ride GPS and import it over to Garmin connect as a TCX file, will it retain turn by turn notifications on my Garmin 530 plus?
Very helpful. Thank you !
This has to be better than the Strava route builder. It can be super annoying. I will give Ride with GPS a try.
Ride with GPS it is probably the best route builder out there.
Do you use strava ? Could use a video on that showing all the capabilities. Love your channel. Ty
Actually that would make a pretty good video. I’ll have to do that in the next few weeks. There are a ton of features so I’ll show the ones that I use.
@@ClintGibbs thank you. I have a subscription with my garmin 130 but I know I’m not using it to its fullest possibilities. Like an another language for me. Ty
Great instructions!!! Thanks.
Good info on Ride GPS. What app/tools do you use to find water and camp sites easily for bike packing?
Funny you should mention that, I am actually just starting to get into bike packing. Have been deciding on what bags to use. I’m actually gonna make a whole video series on that. I have not explored apps yet. Here’s a good article I’ve read recently that may help:
bikepacking.com/plan/smartphone-as-a-gps/
I know that Far Out app is great for backpacking for finding shelter, and food and water sources, but I don’t know of any for bike packing. Long and short of it is, I am just now starting this journey so I will post a video about an app if I find one.
Thx Clint. Be sure to check out Broadfork frame bags. Great people to work with and they customized mine to my specific bike.
Well done. Thank you
Unfortunately only about a fourth of that (or less) is gravel. 276, the blue ridge parkway and 215 are all paved (and busy) though the BRP is closed right now to cars seasonally
Do they close at every winter?
@@ClintGibbs not on a specific date each year but generally after the first round or two of winter weather up there. It’s still open to bikes so it’s great if you can manage to avoid the huge sheets of ice falling off the rock faces and landing on the road haha
@@bryanglover1272 sounds like a nice added challenge
If you follow this procedure do you know if Garmin keeps your custom cues (created in RidewithGPS)?
Great video, thanks. Coming from Wahoo, I wonder if there isn't a way to skip the Garmin Connect step and just directly import from RidewithGPS to the 530.
Yes, you can connect a cable and drop the file over.
Thank You SOOOO MUCH!!!!
great video, do you have a video that teaches me how to put my club rides from ride with GPS to my garmin 1000 wireless. i tried it with this video but it's not working.
You should be able to download their ride as a TCX file. Then upload it to Garmin connect like I show in this video.
It is impossible to use maps here in the New Forest, UK. We have to use Google Maps 'Satellite' to get anything other than pretty well blank green screen on a 'phone. At least you can navigate using individual deciduous trees (Winter, branches ... Summer, Leaves ... for when Google took the 'Satellite' view)
That's the case in a lot of other countries as well. For off road riding there are far better options than Google Maps.
The root of our problems here in Blighty eh.. 🤣👌 great vid mate..why is everyone pronouncing route wrong and not the same pronunciation as root..🤷♂️🤨😤 ya route wood .. 🤣🤣🤣👌
Thank you!!!
Is it necessary to have the cue sheet on ride with gps before exporting to garmin, or will Garmin automatically generate turn by turn itself without relying on the cues from RWGPS?
Turn by turn directions come automatically from the route
Hello, Is that your voice on the Cyclingcore brake tool commercial?
Not that I know of! Drop a link.
@@ClintGibbs Trying to find it. It was in Instagram
We’re you at baker creek yesterday?
I wasn't
Have you ever tried kamoot?
Not yet
Seems long winded when you can download pretty much directly to your Garmin from RWGPS using a cable and file explorer.
Can be done using an iPad
Did not work for me
Thanks very much Clint, very informative and clear instructions.
