  • To be fair Paddy was quite a good boy today. I managed to hook him to the railing so he didn’t waggle my camera arm. Sad that I couldn’t stay to see the small craft depart. What do you think of my hypothesis?
Have a lovely Sunday. Thank you for watching.

Another very interesting video on what looked like a nice day for filming. You are correct about the small boats waiting until highwater before leaving. It would be a struggle against the tide and also use a lot fuel. Thanks again for posting. 😊

Thank you David yes it was nice weather, not too much wind. Maybe I’m getting to know something about tides and shipping at last! 😊😊

Another great video. Thank you. Poor Paddy looked spatchcocked lying there, lol 🤣. Not a mariner but agree with your tidal assumption. 👍👍👍

Good call on traffic, you are your fathers daughter. full powered freighters always like to buck a rising tide as running around means you will lift off soon enuf, on a ebb tide one is stuck there for half a day at best.. opening gates released thick water like my Chickpea soup, nice work, thanks. Its all in the details.

Ah thank you. If only I could pick my father’s brains now. Youth is wasted on the young. I’m glad you noticed the swirling water, I really pondered on that and the sound of the sluice gate going down. (If that’s the right term?)

Good guess I would say, on tide.
The red duster on the Pilot Station was at half mast, any idea why?

The boats should leave when the tide has turned and is starting to drop and go out

A Freight ship is more correctly described as a Freighter or Cargo vessel !!!
