For as big as the Dom is, it really is a very versatile MS and so glad like the Zaku II, it has so many variants cause of that. Does anyone else who played GBO2 like when any Dom model launches that it does that unique lens test.
It's a nice touch with the Monoeye Scan thing when it starts up. Other than the Zock that does that funky eye test as it leaves the Hangar, all of the Dom varients have that fancy animation.
I know some people may be a fan of the newer MS designs that are sleek and more realistic, but give me a dumpy-looking robot design *any day*. This thing's design absolutely stinks of the 80s and I love it.
to me its a matter of in universe design. the dom has always been a fan favorite, which is why it was "used as reference" in space harrier... its bulky for a reason, and its design perform as it should. compared with other series, i will still take any dom design(even seed destiny's), over pretty much anything the HRL made in 00.
The Rick Dom was one of my first MGs. It is pretty decent. However, after getting the Dwadge update of this kit and knowing the 1.5 Dom is coming, I won't be getting another Dom until then. Also, the 1.5 will be coming with the Rakutan Bazooka, at the very least. This is based on the Dwadge, which came with the Rakutan Bazooka as well, and the 1.5 will be based off the Dwadge.
Honestly aside from the dwadge upgrades we're getting I pray we get all the plastic parts in upgraded quality, I've built 00 and seed HGs and love the ones I have besides exia but the plastic quality makes me wish for more
I still remember building it when it first got released in 1999, I was a little kid and I found the fingers are loose and drops off over time. Other than that, it was a very detailed mg compared to other previous MG released, think of mg1.0 zaku 2 , mg 1.0 rx78. This is a very good model
I might get this guy. I love Zeon mobile syuits that can equip a shit-ton of weapons. This guy would look amazing with a MG Zaku J 2.0, a Geara Doga, and a Kampfer.
Hah, you're right. With how it was all set up the light does kind of give that happy expression on the eye, which is kind of fitting for this bulky cyclops of a machine as if knowing that "Yeah, I may be an old geezer by today's standards , but I can still rock it out with the younger generation."
One of my favorites I built around 15 years ago. Definitely bulky, and that plethora of weapons was amazing. Only other one I can think of with that many weapons in Master Grade is the GM Ground Type model. Edit: Oh, Kampfer was pretty decked out, too.
I totally agree. The swappable finger type is ok until you do it too many times and then it gets super loose. If a kit isn't going to have articluated hands, just give it pre-posed ones, as they're much more solid than any of the other options and often look better tbh.
@@lanckston swappable fingers are insufficient right from the start for kits with particularly weighty weapons, like Heavyarms EW. I love the kit, but those fingers do not stay in well when trying to hold up the massive Beam Gatling.
There are sine MGs pre 2.0 era that are surprirising competent and even hold up now. I'd say you should try checking out the MG Qubeley if interested, as I think it's REALLY underrated. Nobody talks about it but it's a really solid, bulky kit for only 4000 yen and dare I say, a must own for any Qubeley fan.
@@SpaceBot-pp9yj Because there's nothing to gain from a 2.0 for a design like this. The Dom is simple, and bulky. It doesn't have a lot of surface detail, and the bulk will limit articulation because there's nowhere for the plastic to go. The shoulder swing mechanism, and newer hands were good updates.
I gotta say much like the Char Zaku II perfect grade the poses you showed off in this were pretty damn impressive... lol Makes me want a DOM... which is not something I would have every considered
As much as I want a Dom (model kit and in real life), I'm holding off till we know more of the 1.5, and I'd be surprised if it came out this year. Assuming nothing delays the GINN and then the Virtue/Nadleeh, I'm looking forward to it.
I think the Dom's articulation is still great considering it's a Dom. There's not much that can be done to add articulation to a suit that's so bulky. I could see having more detail being added, or proportions being tweaked in a 2.0, but I don't think it's necessary.
Full Mechanics/Re100/MG Zaku III, bandai one day. I mean I am thinking the Gundam MK-V getting an MG means a Doven Wolf MG based on it in the future. I'd only be right if we also got its competitor for Zeon mass production the Zaku 3 in 1.100 scale
There was the MG Dom and Rick Dom 1.5 based off the P-Bandai MG MS-09G Dwadge that had a revised inner frame but a lest since Bandai removed it from this year release schedule who knows if the 1.5's will see the light of day we can only hope for them next year.
Please review the FM 1/100 Graze Custom, i promise it won't disappoint you, with the accessories alone and extra parts for customization, its already a win
Ordered the Dom and received the rick dom and feeling awful about it (wanted the weapons loadout) is the price point of the rick dom justified vs the dom in your opinion? Like the seller is advising that they are of the same value, but are they though?
When it comes to old Master Grades, many haven’t aged well.
The Dom, on the other hand, is still Jet Streaming as well today as it was in 1999.
I have the Rick Dom version, can’t say no to a big beam bazooka
Could you review more mg kits ? I’d like your thoughts when it comes to other mg kits.
Told yah XD it still holds up and will sure to meet your expectations.
I loved that kit i happened to have 3
I'm really looking forward to the Dom 2.0 that was announced.
Too perfect that we got a 1.5 kit with more improved tech.

MG Dom 3.0
Comes with a hidden Build Burning Gundam
that would be sick
The rear leg trusters are the same as the mg perfect zeong's lmao
Isn't that because the legs of the perfect Zeong were based on the Dom's?

@@marcosdheleno true the DOM Trooper is basically a new DOM. A modernised design that doesnt stray too far off from the OG
It's amazing that the Sturm Faust was introduced only in War in Pocket, but it became the iconic Zeon weapon on par with the heat hawk.
"Ortiga", "Mush", and "Guyya" sounded like parody names which is kinda ironic considering I saw a handful of anime that parodies the Black Tri Stars.
Seeing as how the 1.5 doms are coming it's made me bust this old boy out of my 3 year backlog. Also gonna be rocking that MUSH decal.
Hopefully this guy gets more attention for all grades.

OK,wow. At first,I wasn't even thinking about the Dom. But seeing this,and knowing it's from 1999,HELLS YEAH,BROTHER!
I am a bit bummed about the fact that not a lot of kits have the hands the Dom here have. It would make one able to make more dynamic hand movements.

The mg turn a gundam has the same style of hands
With articulated fingers, you can flip off the Gundam!
The post Zeta 2.0 kits had these type of hands, which were then upgraded to the Nu/3.0 hands, but then were switched with the swappable hands
Nice kit. Really love the mecha desihn of the dom. Thanks @kakarot197 for the review

I am officially dead. You have killed me with old age.
This kit made me really appreciate the Dom, I have that one that I modded into a Dom Tropen and the chars Dom and they are so great.
the dom was one of those amazing designs that just got better and better with time(well aside from the pezum that is).
Awesome, so happy to see some classic kits on your channel. Thanks!
What a coincidence! I also bought a MG Dom from HLJ which arrived this week. I also plan on getting the new one whenever that one comes out.
