My cover had 5 screws holding the cover. I was only able to get 3 of the 5 back in😂(typical man with left over screws/bolts/parts). Quick tip, if you have a multi tool cut it with that and scrap the box cutter idea. Thanks for the video!!
So folks would just place the cabin filter and not file some kind of complaint or lawsuit for GM suvs/trucks for not installing one to begin with? It seems like they feel its an insignificant part today.
Just one of many reasons why GM had to be bailed out and fell from #1 Automaker Many years ago. Thanks for the video. Unreal they’d make something so complicated.
jeez louise all this time i was looking for a set of screws and bolts but now I have to cut the plastic to get that thing out ??? Ah well now I know thanks for the video you really helped me out alot !!
After cutting the hole out and smoothing and filing the edges nice and smooth I went to put the same filter u show and it wouldn't go with the white tabs out like yours. It went in really easy the other way though. Do I have to take it out and turn it around or will it be ok.
I have various wrenches and sockets but none that are short enough to allow access to the drive shaft hump screw and still be long enough to reach up! Too bad you didn’t show us what you used or how much you spent on the tool
Oops, my apologies, I watched some other videos on newer than 2001 Chevy Tahoe's, and the the cabin air filter does have to be retro fitted. Best of luck.
@@tonyportaro3184 Probably too late to help you. I had to make my own tool to remove that bolt when replacing the vent door actuator. I regret that I can’t recall exactly what I did but it involved black tape, a socket and a flex-joint, I believe. Search for a video on vent door actuator replacement. One of them showed what it takes to remove and replace that bolt.
Try putting your filter in with the notches facing right. This ASE mechanic shows that's the way they should go. ua-cam.com/video/Jxku-1HEZCE/v-deo.html

It is absolutely ridiculous that this product even exists… good job GM
Well said sir if I could give you 10 thumb's up I would and one big middle finger to GM
The way you pulled up is priceless.
Thanks, great video. I popped of the trim piece to help get that 3rd screw. And heating up the blade helped cut through the plastic.
Much appreciated. No way I would have figured this out without your help. Really well done.
This was an extremely helpful video thank you sir! On my way to retro fit my Tahoe!
Omg!!! I knew it was in there its just that I didn't know how to access it.....and before you post this video, there was none before! Thanks alot!!!!!!
Great video ! Genius on taking off that other thing to clean coil. Thank you and blessings to you and yours!

Thanks for sharing. Could you give the part number you ordered and does the screw come with it?
Thank you for the video. It was there the whole time. A 3 cent hole and a 2 cent screw. so simple......GM got me SMH-
About time we can put a filter on perfect video 💯
used a Dremel with mini-circular saw blade @Harbor Freight.
My Suburban is 17 years old, kind of late to bother installing a filter.
Thanks for the video! Very much appreciated!
After installing the cabin filter, has it made a difference in the cabin ? If not, would it be worth installing ?
Very nice, something I’ll Need to do also for my 07 Suburban.

Thanks been trying figure out were dam thing was for month.
Me too
Same here so we would ha e to take it to gm if we wanted it changed without cutting a hole?
I just killed 3 hours trying to find this fucking thing. Lol I got the filter last night. But now I need the part they hold the filter fuck
Right just did one in 2017 car in minutes then tear open escalade and can't find it. Apparently because it don't have one

I knowwww me too. I don’t know much about vehicles, so I’m trying to learn as I go, and I was really confused 😂
I've had my 2007 Tahoe since January 2006 and there's zero odor..
So I don't think I'm going to need to do this
Good video though
Sir. Can you post a link to that Filter you used? Thank you!!
Awesome video.... thanks for sharing
It's crazy, Chevy told me there was no filter..... GMC said there was LOL. So you actually have to add one, it doesn't come with one. SMH

Fabulous video. Would you by any chance have a link to the retrofit A/C filter you purchased on Amazon?

Awesome video..thank u..
Thank you so much 👏🏼👏🏼
So you cut off the lower section ?hard to use a box cutter
So u have to take out the old one thats in there?
There's none bro
Best intro
So stupid not to have a filter in it to begin with. I was like what the hell?! Thanks for video.

On the 99 -06 Trucks , it's easier to leave that one in .
The Cover will drop down enough to easily access this area/ filters
Great video thank you 👍🏼
Do you have a link to the retro fit filter you purchased on amazon?
GM should be ashamed for not fitting a cabin filter in the first place...
Trying to save themselves some money
Can’t believe they didn’t fit one from the factory. You even have the LTZ too
Muchas gracias gracias gracias...
Thanks for sharing
My 2007 Tahoe has a cabin filter from the factory in it
mind didn't and I'm pissed
Do you think this would work for 2003 Avalanche?
It will from what I understand
My 2001 Tahoe has a factory removable cabin filter. Something fishy here...
Stopped with 03 models
Can you post the link to that filter. Thx
Will this help with the smell ?
It will

Where is the link or we can purchase this filter
Just go to autozone its not rocket science
I bought 1 from autozone but didnt fit
advanced auto has the Dorman kit and i think it comes with the door
What did you use to take off that bolt above the drive shaft hump?

Shout out to the scrambled eggs!!
ACDelco 22759208 for kit or just literally go to Amazon search “retrofit cabin air filter kit” worked for my 2011 GMC Sierra Denali
How dumb is that on GM's part.
What’s the part number
Hey
How can I order the filter ? Is there a part number?
Love You autzone has them. Ask for 2002 cabin filter. Same fit
2002 Tahoe that is
Thanks man for your help 👍

Are you talking about for a Tahoe?
You may be referring to a 2015 through a 2019 tahoe, suburban.
That's weird....because the video clearly shows its under the glove box
Not until after 2014. 2007-2014 didn't have them at all, otherwise the kit, filter, and video wouldn't exist, would they?
@@christophers.8553 My 06 Denali doesn't have one either. Not sure what year they started omitting them, but it was piss poor thinking regardless.
