American maths is so much better than South African maths
These adds are throwing me off. If they were in between questions it wouldn’t throw me off but holly crap they’re all in the wrong places.
UA-cam puts them in that way automatically. I don't add them in manually.

took all four test today on four hours of sleep. It is crazy long and exhausting to take all at once. I scored 168 in the language, 162 in social studies, 158 in science, and 153 in math. I live in Alabama by the way. I dont know if the testing is different elsewhere.
Also keep in mind that I did very little studying for language, science, and social studies. All of the practice tests and practice test videos showed that it all came down to reading comprehension. I focused my time studying algerbra.
Language was definitely the easiest for me. It was mainly reading a super long paragraph and answering around 7 based on said paragraph. I think i had to read 4 or 5 of these really long paragraphs. The stories were long and boring. In the end reading comprehension is all you really needed.
In the essay, you have to read a really long paragraph that has two arguments. The goal of the essay is to decide who has the better argument based on the facts that are presented. Pulling out information from the essay was easy, but the compiling of information and typing it down in my own words took forever. I'm not a fast typer or good speller so this one was hard to do before the time ran out.
Science was a bitch. It had much smaller paragraphs than the language portion, but it was so harder to understand. I felt like a couldn't understand English while reading most of these paragraphs. I almost didn't finish the test in time because I just had such a hard time reading the paragraphs. It seemed to be mainly testing your reading comprehension and knowledge of how to read graphs. It also threw several questions at me that told me to use a calculator. I didnt have a clue on what to calculate so I relied on reading comprehension and critical thinking to guess.
Social studies was a lot like language but a little harder. You had to read long paragraph and answer the questions based on the paragraph. You had to read paragraphs from things like presidential speechs and answer questions like "What did president mean from this statement?"or "What can we infer is the presidents standpoint from his speech?" It also talks about the different government branches and what they do. I didnt know which branches did what so I wish I had studied up on the basic government branches and how bills, laws, and acts get passed. I dont remember a ton of questions that dealt with the branches but it definitely would have upped my score if I had know the basics.
For math it had a lot word problems, make an algebraic equation from the word problems, solve for x type problems, and graphs. I cant think of anything else about math. Just make sure you understand how to graph, make an algebraic equation, factor, FOIL, fractions, exponents,etc.
During testing I would have rather have done another math test than science because your brain didn't turn to absolute mush during math. I am actually surprised I didn't score higher on my math.
Just remember to not stress yourself out before the test and not overestimate the test in your head. Im not saying it was an easy test but it definitely wasn't as bad as my mind made it out to be. To all my fellow test anxiety people, I wish you luck! You got this!

My schedule has been busy, so I'm a little late with this but I wanted to thank you Parker for all of the wonderful videos you've put on UA-cam. They were a big help in helping me pass. I passed on May 25, 2023. I scored 157 in Language Arts, 167 in Social Studies, 161 in Science and 147 in Mathematics. I'm 53 years old. I am 60 yrs old I need to pass my GED. I never understood algebra. Need to really watch your videos over and over.
So how did it go? Also why care about eduction at 60? I have heard the phrase "it's never too late" but I think it might be in this case.

I'm only 42 years old, and watched the fist one minute of this... wondering what ever happened to the pemdas rules lol soooo confused
@@-Me_ could be for a job I'm 36 years old and having to get mine now for my current job I have been out of school for 18 years and math was the reason I dropped out I failed math every year in highschool but was good in all other subjects tried home school passed everything but math so I had to quit home school cuz I had nobody to teach me I was learning on my own. Thank God for UA-cam now makes learning easy.

for sciences there were alot of scientific methods,cladogram,food web,earth science,very little physcics was brought out
for math it was pretty basic with lots of algebraic expressions,word problems,distance and time,average and especially "equation of lines",slopes and coordinates.
i would not recommend anyone to take all in the same day, it is very stressful.....did mine the same day because i am used to that kind of exam situation.

@@Vortette well they did not go too deep with questions during my exam but read on the wars america was involve with and alot of civil rights questions and systems of government.

If you are taking maths test then keep focus on algebra, slope ,fraction of exponents,and yeah learn that pamda style, one question will be like combination/permutations , and personages %, I had done all online test that’s how I find out this question format so keep practicing.. If I can do this you can do this too.I was scared but I got 168 . So good luck 👍🏻 you will rock it .
I finally have my ged!!! I got it on the 30th math was my last test! I took one test each week for four weeks. Passed them all on the first try! If I can do it anyone can do it!! Good luck guys. I’m off to bigger and better things!!!

Thank you for all you do- I am scheduled to take my GED MATH TEST AGAIN- for the 5 time - I refuse to give up. I was 2 point shy of passing- I have been out of school about 40 years - I passed the other 3 GED TESTS on the first try, the math test has really got me frustrated but again I will not give up, what I am finding that confuses me is when to what every do on one side you have to do it on the other side. I had a question that was similar to Albany taxi company charges $2.50 a mile plus a $3 sir charge and Pulaski taxi company charged 3.25 per mile with a $3.25 sir charge. How many miles were both taxi companies charging the same rate?

You remind me so much of my math teacher and now I know why I failed. You make me pay attention to too many things while over explaining ugh. So hard for me to focus. Like Question 2 you explained the hell out of the work “oh you can put y1 first or y2 first” using all these arrows. #6 talking about the lotto and all the extra bull. I’m like wtf can you just simplify your teaching??? Just get to the point show us one or 2 ways and keep it moving. Ugh I was sooo frustrated after watching this video I almost throw my phone. I’m sorry but you really made me realized why I never passed math. Sorry but thank you at the same time!!

where did you get 100 from on the find the area equation i understand everything but that
You're asking about question 4, right? So in this question, we know that side a of the triangle = 8, and side c = 10. And we can look at the formula a^2 + b^2 = c^2 and substitute 8 into the equation for a, and 10 into the equation for x. So when we substitute 10 in for c, when have to remember that it's c^2. So we must do 10^2. 10^2 = 10x10, which equals 100. Does that answer your question? If not, please let me know! Thanks!

@@joseguerrero120 the test I took yesterday is a bit different from what I took today. I watch the videos they really help. Watch ultimate algebra videos too. Study simplifying, factorization, equal to r grater than those com on both tests, slope. This videos and ultimate algebra helps feel good.

So frustrated! I passed all 3 but failed math today. I got 133. Some of the letters I didn't understand like n or e. I feel like a failure because they say that next time if I don't pass, I will hsve to wait 60 days to take it again.

Man i highly respect people who can learn this and pass there H.S.E.D. because its very hard to learn the problem is 95% of people dont ever use this type of math on the job you will probably never have to ever use this type of math unless you are a architec or account such a waste of time but you have to know it to pass the ged test o well

question #6 you calculate the mean , instead of the median ?? mean 126 / median (average) 162.5
median is 126. When you have even values you have to get the mean(average) of the two middle numbers which is 22 and 230. 22+230=252/2=126 which is you median.
Question four scared me 😱
So basically if you remember the formula
A2+B2=C2 you would get
64+B2=100 if you subtract 64 from 100 you would get 36 and if you divide it by half upu would get 6

I am 39 years old and have been out of school for 21 years. I have been trying to get my GED I passed my language and science in June 2021 and I just passed my Social Studies test yesterday barely with a 146. Thanks to your social studies videos. Now I have math to pass. My last test. When I can pass this I’m gonna enroll in college and get into the Law Enforcement. Please help I have taken the math test 7 times and still have trouble passing.

I don’t understand 5 solve. Why you have +16 and -3?
You're solving for x, so you have to add 16 to both sides. And since it's -3x (3 times x), you must divide by -3 on both sides.
