This song comes to an epic lapse in 2:16 I love this part, I'm from colombia, and I come from a not so wealthy family, sometimes I don't even have the money to get into hardcore shows, but I love this music, and what it represents to me...Hardcore gives me the strength to go through everything that life's thrown at me...It made me believe in myself since i found...Now I'm in college, and people change everything they are just to fit in...but I enjoy being out of step thanks to this music andTHANK YOU H2O!
I wont change my mind. This song is outstanding. I would love to see Toby, Lou & Matt singing it together. And i love Adam for being in Shelter years ago. I bow to all of you guys. Thank you for this beautiful music.
i know this is an old comment but cannot agree more. .. true hardcore and what it means to be art of that scene !! hes very much a fuck the gate keepers kinda guy!
Great song and a great bunch of guys!! Over 20 years of HC for me and I'm so close to turning my back on the scene now because of all the divisions and rifts within the scene. What happened to the music and the message that I love!! H20 have bought a smile back to my face and encouragement that there are still people out there that live for passion before fashion, YEAH!!!
I hope you didn’t turn your back on it. Because when we’re young, we don’t think the same way as we do when we’re older The divisions were worse in the 90s due to the rise of pop-punk and pop-core in the main stream We just didn’t notice because we were kids growing up Try to imagine being 14 right now and listening to H2O for the first time That’s what I do Cheers man !rock ‘n’ roll !
I know you might not remember me or my band but we opened for y'all back in 97 with the Misfits and Marky Ramone. I want to thank you because y'all where so kind to us kids and gave your time to just talk to us during our load out.
i lost track of these guys affter 98...good to see they are still doing thier thing and the message is the same..i remember one of thier first shows with murphys law when they were only a 4 peice with max on drums and eric on bass...and how amazing they were back then that me and my friends would drive all over the tri-state area to watch them play...this songs feel and meaning reminds me of those days and it makes me smile..
H20 is one of those bands that looks at life realistically, and they know how to get their message across by their words. They're easily one of my fav bands
God, all those show flyers bring back so many memories. H2O with Kill Your Idols, or Grey Area...one of the best shows I ever saw was back in 99 with H2O, Bouncing Souls and the Casualties. What a mash-up of people, fucking great times.
I miss seeing H2O live. They used to play here in JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA all the time! The lyrics are very TRUE and FROM THE HEART! MUCH RESPECT! Raybees (WARZONE) would be proud!!! R.I.P.!!!
@@Ck-zk3we what im not sure where you live man but bi played with AAA H2o Us Bombs and HateBreed in the 90s my scene got destroyed by rich emo kids wearing there sisters pants and Straight edge Jocks an thugs coming to shows to spin kick girls a guys not even in the Pitt The Casualties . There are still a lot of great modern hardcore bands out there, like Code Orange, Turnstile, Touché Amoré, Self Defense Family, Loma Prieta, Incendiary, Xibalba, Defeater, Modern Life is War, Blacklisted, Drug Church.. and more melodic punk bands like Title Fight and Basement
You just missed the message, It's not just about clothes, It's about those artists who just dress to impress and attract weak minded fans. Ramones had passion and singed from the heart it wasn't about their clothes.
ooh ich liebe sie! persistence tour war eine der geilsten shows ever! oh i do love them! persistence tour was one of the greatest shows i've ever seen!
michael rappaport is so cool. i didnt know he was into hardcore/punk. that explains why he was wearing a bad brains shirt on my name is earl. this song rules. H2O rules.
gosh.. i think i 'discovered' this band for me just now (i'm working on a presentation bout punk rock and so i found them..).. i didn't knew them so far but they sound awsome and the text is just great and so true ( ok although i'm maybe a bit to young to say this- i realy mean it!)
GREAT song, album and all around great album. I missed H2O. I agree 100%. I'm tired of fashion shows. Kansas has been infected by scene kids. Yuck! Thanks for speaking up H2O!!!
i'm usually into hip hop but this tracks is truth! Today it's all about fashion and looks, and not the art and the messege. I miss the music from the past, nothing made today is good anymore, only the underground stuff.
I love this song, but you have to admit the irony When he says fashion before passion, and He has the pitchfork shirt on ! I always wondered if they did that on purpose or not
I think they`re talking about the fashion punks that are all over the place and the dresscode that comes with them and when it comes to that I agree 100%.
everyone needs to quit arguing and just enjoy this! H2O is great and they bring a positive message to hardcore that can lift anyone up, when they are down and out. S.E.O.G.'s for life!!!
Ya while I get a haircut and show off my tattoos and a fred Perry that costs over a hundred bucks I'm going to sing about fashion. I love the lyrics though, and I love H20 GO!!!
Am I the only one who finds Matt Skiba´s part beautiful and nostalgic as hell?
Nope. We all do. The guy does everything from the heart and you can tell!
No you're not the only one. Gave me goosebumps
Pretty much the only one

There’s something profoundly funny about having Michael rapaport talk about men wearing makeup then having Matt skiba sing a verse two minutes later.
2021 still true. Miss the good Ol days.
When Matt Skiba starts singing, that's when you know what's up!
i love those lyrics.
I love when he points at strum
Lou Koller is one of the nicest guys. Really appreciates his fans. Legend of hardcore

hhaha you're right man !
Holy shit it sounds sick haha
"It didn't matter how you dressed or what you wore to a show"
Its about the music and the passion of hardcore and punk rock.
Too bad it matter to the actual band...
almost shed a tear hearing the lyrics... too many posers invaded the scene, killed the mood and yet dont even care to show themselves to the shows.
yeah in like 1985
history is cyclical...

Still Relevant 2019 what happened to passion?
No use For a name seriously most of this generation got sucked into a hole of superficiality and image which has no true meaning
Maybe should have had more passion when pulling out of a hardcore show in London when people have paid good money to see them
@@ianbarrett4166 London sucks. Bunch of wannabes anyway.
William Lane best punk and hardcore in England
still relevant in 2020 don't worry
To me, in 2023 this song kicks in more relevant than ever before
Saw h20 on a boat on the east river in n.y.c with Murphy's law great show
1 decade for "what happened". 👏🏽
great band, great album, great song, great lyrics, great video.
this is the best song ever, anyone who hates on it, are the ones who care about their image. it was never about that.
