the CGI is fantastic, it reminds me of Playstation 1, cinematics...
Right? I thought this was a fan made scene... The CG on the characters was terrible for a 2023 movie...
@@NickRomick The entire movie has very poor CGI.. Especially when you compare it the current day marvel films, and I'm a DC fan.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Lol.
this multiunivers its just lame, sucks asss and boring as f
Marvel is better than Dc in the cinematic world.@@joefaller9664
Laziest nostalgia trip I've ever seen.
I was 30 seconds into it and was like "is this supposed to be a scene in a movie?"
So, does this mean that everyone saw the universe thing?
Why they were so against bringing Cavill back even for a cameo, yet they somehow got Nic Cage in the mix when a whole lot of people were hella confused, is beyond me.
They didn't bring grant gustin as well.
To a superhero fan who the sequence was aimed at would not have been confused. So it works.
@@captainkirk4519 I am a superhero fan, an avid one at that. And even I had to google that Nicolas Cage was selected for a Superman role for Tim Burton's movie.
But the general population, don't get it.
@@johnsonwithat2322 really? In the superman fan community it was talked about for years. Maybe you are a little younger than I :) it wasn't meant for the general audience just the fans.
Cavill was the worse superman 😅
The absolute HEIGHT of N64 graphics
Name processors
Hey now, at least I liked the N64
it had zero impact on the story also.
Nicholas Cage was like.... The very last person I could imagine to play superman
He was cast as Sups ages ago, but that movie fell through.
This would have been better as a videogame cutscene
Even video game cutscenes look better than this shit
it already looks like a Ps3 cutscene
Cgi is pretty good
Video game cutscenes are even much better than this nowadays
the way the camera slowly turns at the end even looks like the transition into gameplay a lot of videogames like to do
Christopher Reaves really does look like Superman.
superman was molded out of his image
Best Superman.
he is the real and best superman!
He was born to play the part.
Hope he banged Supergirl.😅
I teared up when i saw Christopher Reeves. He was the Superman of my childhood.
Same here 😢
same here mate .
I smiled when I saw Chris, bc I know he would have done the same thing. He loved the character, as John Glover can easily tell you, having worked with Chris prior to Smallville and knowing very well how he felt about the Man of Steel.
tearing up over it is crazy
Yeah, me too.its like he came back from the dead for just a moment to say he's ok.
The CGI is actually comical 😂😂
What emotion was I supposed to feel while watching this
A wistfulness for childhood that would bandaid over plot holes and unresolved storylines.
i'm no DC fan but even i liked this scene a lot
Yes
Disgust
Imagine Cage playing Superman , clark kent , and lex luthor . All three characters played by one actor. That would be insane.
Cage would be an insanely excellent choice for Luthor but a terrible Superman option
@@dmongru I dont know, he did some great heroes in the past. One thing im sure is young Nic looks a lot like Loki.
Mark Hamill played Joker and 3 different takes of Flash villain The Trickster , that kinda counts.
@@dmongru Why not Homelander is essentially Nic Cage.
That would be very bad.
Love the call back to Kevin Smith. Kevin mentioned when he was writing a Superman script that he was told it needed a fight with a giant spider. When the movie didn't happen, the same producer got a fight with a giant spider in Wild Wild West.
I also thought of the Wild Wild West episode of the How Did This Get Made Podcast when I saw that. Joel Silver finally got his Superman vs giant spider fight and honestly it is a scary looking spider.
lol nerd
Did he talk about the Giant spider?
Yeah yeah he did He did...
Every day that fucking spider...
Technically, it's call back to Jon Peters.
@@bryalogicalgaming5817 Not Joel Silver. Giant spider was Jon Peters.
So happy to see Chris Reeve's Superman reunited with his cousin after 45 years
Bruh, it like an insult to the actor
so there you have it: there is a parallel universe out there where the Kevin Smith's script was not trashed and Cage was Superman for real.
So epic, Nic Cage finally get the Superman action he deserves.
WTF? This entire sequence was just a bunch of corporate executives telling the VFX artists to shove in random fake cameos and giving them a week to do all of it.
@@mateodoris6856
Far from random.
All of them are actual former Super Man, including Nicolas Cage (not published movie directed by Tim Burton).
That being said, yes the CGI have horrible early 90' vibe.
The original idea for Nic Cage Superman costume was even more badass. What we see here is a watered down version.
Why
And Jon Peters got he wanted: Superman fighting a giant spider.
I love that of all the different cameos, Nic Cage is the one who gets an actual fight scene. Man that battle cry at 1:25 was wonderful.
Tim burton's superman lives
The issue was the fact that Adam West passed away in 2017. He was 88 when he passed away.
Cage didn't get the fight scene he earned it. In the 90's he was the Superman Lives with that scene causing a baby feud between producers. See my reference above. They shelved Nicholas Cage's superman. It was a shame. He was a great superman and is still a great actor. People. Catch up on your history. You sound ignorant.
@@noneother3042 "Catch up on your history", lmao
Cage said he came in and shot a scene where he was just standing there
witnessing the destruction of his world.
He had no idea how he ended up fighting a spider.
Looked about as real as Neo fighting never ending Smiths.
Cage as an older Superman. I could really see that!
It was great to see Adam West as Batman again, even if it was for a few seconds.
Burt Ward as Robin was there too!
Damn you're at least 54 years old
@@trashboity8773 nah, I just had good taste.
“Only the Joker would think of that.” **maniacal laugh**
@@trashboity8773 no I'm 48 and remember Adam West as Batman. They had it in reruns for a while
Nic Cage is the reason i watched this movie, Keaton and Reeves were icings on top of that
Cheap cameos
@@imsentinelprime9279 so?
@abirbinhabib7669 whatchu mean by so? None of these appearances are meaningful;, most of it is nostalgia bait. Your obviously a person who is easily pleased by anything.
@@imsentinelprime9279Just hace fun
@@imsentinelprime9279 and what the actual fuck is wrong with being pleased with something simple as nostalgia every once in a while?? You people look for meaning in everything even in things like a lousy movie smh
The thing is only Hollywood and die-hard Kevin Smith fans would understand the Nick Cage cameo
That fucking spider robot means only one thing, one person, one horrible producer
I don't think audiences had to get the references, just be aware that this was showing them a multiverse where all the different live-action DC movies/TV shows exist together.
To me, the idea that all the different DC movies and shows since (presumably) the old serials from the 40s all exist in the same continuity is really clever because it means future reboots or reimaginings can still stand alongside everything that's come before. It's building and iterating on top of them rather than erasing them. And it's nice to see that Nic Cage has a place in that continuity even if his movie didn't end up getting made.
Yeah, my mind was blown watching the movie in theaters and seeing that, but it was immediately followed by the thought that most people probably have no idea about the Tim Burton Superman movie story, or have seen those pics of Cage in the suit
@@craigcharlesworth1538
I don’t know. I prefer looking at different shows as different filmmakers’ reinterpretations instead of different universes within one multiverse. Does Nolan’s Batman look like Bruce would stumble upon a multiverse or have a character from a different universe drop into his story? No. Doesn’t fit.
Dude looks like bootstrap bill turned in pirates of the carribean 😂
Adam West, Christopher Reeve, Nicolas Cage is Legends
And then the next year Ryan Reynolds with Deadpool said: Step aside and let me show you how a nostalgia trip is done
I got chills in theater when Christopher Reeve's appeared with the slight hint of his theme, same with Helen Slater❤Goosebumps all over...that was a beautiful, well-deserved tribute to them. My childhood heroes!!!
Helen slater should play as super girl again maybe one last time
i cried a little
It's Christopher Reeve. George Reeves also played superman.
Reeve. Not Reeve's.
Looked like a CGI monster to me
This made me feel like i was watching a CW series. But loved to see Nic Cage
Except that CW shows have better FX.
@@Spectrue No they dont.
@@peterlenham3180 well, I can truthfully state that I've never seen the CW shows have such bad CGI that they warped Christopher Reeve's face beyond the point of being wildly disrespectful. The giant Beebo doll from Legends of Tomorrow looks more realistic and lifelike.
@@Spectrue Warped his face? No they didn't. It looked good to me and it wasnt disrespectful.
@@peterlenham3180 um, they literally had to warp it because the used a flat image and then underpaid some struggling vfx artist to make it "3d". They couldn't even be bothered to call up Helen Slater and scan her face and they did the same thing to her instead.
Christopher Reeves .. damn, who's cutting onions..😭
I was actually hoping to see Grant Gustin's Flash to appear, look up at the sky, and yell "Damn it, Barry!!!"
I like that Nic Cage used "Blue Steel" on the viewer.
No no no... that was Magnum. You're confusing the 2
Imagine Cage's Reaction after Getting his As kicked by Doomsday.
was he slated to get beat by doomsday in the scraped movie script?
Happy they brought back the first Superman, Christopher Reeves, Adam west, and Nicholas

@@walrusrobot5483 There's an S in George Reeves' name, though!
and that is a different person and is not pertinent to this discussion.@@filthycasual8187
Someone has inverted the process of evolution.
PewDiePie said something to that effect once
Might not be the greatest, but I'm happy to see Nicholas Cage. Finally playing as Superman and recently as well, Dracula. Two characters he has always wanted to portray as his entire career.
I want a nic cage superman animated movie and a skin in the next injustice game!
I loved The Flash. I will concede the CGI was surprisingly not up to snuff considering the budget. Like a lot of big films, it was also a victim of studio infighting, arbitrary changes that made no sense by higher ups, and other issues that weren't its fault.
Not for me. Again, DC ruined what could have potentially been a great movie. They have a long history of cutting corners, and sacrificing quality in favor of saving a buck. I've played Indy video games with better CGI than the Flash..
I liked it
@@Livinghighandwise man wtf? videogames works diferent hahahahaha cgi is other thing on movies
It was doomed the moment James Gunn killed the DCEU
They even dragged the franchise is Barbie >:(
The story, Michael Keaton and Sasha Calle were the best thing of the movie. And the cameos of course. Ignore the bad CGI tho, the studios spent all their budget on getting Ezra Miller out of prison instead of making good visual effects.
This scene shows how Superman Lives movie was good in 1999
Complete with 1999-level CGI!
@@aaronlauretani8921 Yeah but Tim Burton cancelled the "Superman:Lives" Project and the movie cease to exist
Im glad they never used the Nicloas cage Superman. 1:40 He looks corny as Hell. hahahaha,........
Even with how this movie crashed and burned, one thing cannot be denied.
This scene CEMENTED that there's an entire multiverse of worlds for DC to pull from. No matter if the source material is from TV shows more than sixty years ago or from movies that were never made, it's all one connected multiverse.
That's just so damn cool to me. XD
It is all for them Bens! $$$$

Benjamin Wallfisch really did a fantastic job with the score here. Amazing music.
I'll be honest: I lost it when Keaton appears dressed as Batman and I TOTALLY lost in this scene. I miss Cavill and Kilmer and Bale, but Reeves, Slater and Williams, and the Cage's Superman alongside West, Reeves (played by Ben Affleck by the way in a movie) GOSH I TOTALLY LOST IT😅😄😄
Christopher Reeve. Not Reeves. There is no S!
0:50 This scene looks like it was generated by AI
I’m baffled that people think Cage suits the part as Superman, he really doesn’t.
this made the entire movie worth it. especially seeing Christopher Reeves
*Christopher Reeve
The movie was enjoyable, particularly with the return of Michael Keaton as Batman. It's clear that his departure after two successful Batman films was a mistake as his continuation would have allowed us to witness the proper evolution of the character.
Even if the CGI looks very bad, I still love the fact that they did these cameo. It's a tribute to the actors who brought these characters to life.
Nicolas Cage as Superman looks so awesome!
Fun fact: tim Burton wanted to make his own superman movie starting Nicholas Cage as superman which unfortunately was cancelled until the teen titans go movie were Nicholas Cage voices superman in fact tim Burtons superman movie was supposed to come true back in 1997
If there had been a Superman V with Christopher Reeve, I like to think that would've been the storyline: Aliens invade Earth, and it's up to him and Helen Slater's Supergirl to defend it.
This movie direction is just weird, i will not even mention the horrible cgi, but the way it's put together is just a giant mess
May as well be a videogame or just fully animated at this point.

Not gonna lie Nicholas cage. Superman, looking pretty sick.
Explain to me how the VFX get WORSE with bigger budgets and better advancement
Still need good artists
when I feel bad about today's state of Marvel, I always remember that DC has been like this for close to a decade
When the movie acknowledges it is a movie. It's like Morpheus telling Neo he's been living inside a dreamworld. Here, the movie literally tells the main actor he's been living inside a movie.
How so.
With that logic he would know he’s in a movie the Devin m second he’s on the screen.
No bro, every movie, tv series, comic characters (from different artists) are not "ficticional" characters, those are different branches in the multiverse, all versions of superman (and every other DC and MARVEL characters) are canon now
@@Jesus-jq5zw Yes I know. But Flash saw each branch the way we as an audience remember those tv shows and movies. For example they portrayed the early flash and superman tv shows in black and white, how we as an audiance remember them. Each branch had it's own soundtrack playing and even the audio had the quality of its own era when aired. For each branch we also see the film frames flickering the way movies are projected in theaters. It was a clever way from the makers to blend the storyworld and the nostalgia of those films and tv series together. A nod to those who are willing to decipher it.
@@Sams.Videos if you realize that the director was doing fanservice, why are you treating it as if it was breaking the 4th wall?, i'm just explaining you how the multiverse canonizes everything, is nothing else there to complain about, they even gave us Nicholas Cage's Superman, what else do you need to be happy? 😩
Can't wait until a DC movies makes an amazing movie off of a competent script instead of relying on fan service all the time.
They did every single time when Zack Snyder was involved.
Cry about it.
@@theunknowncommenter725 Nope, just Watchmen. Every other script was seriously flawed to complete ass.
Anyone else disappointed they didn't show Dean Cain's Superman? It was actually successful, unlike Nic Cage's Superman which was never made into a movie.
This is probably why he didn't agree to come back as Ghost Rider in Deadpool
He may have been tired of it. I can’t blame him. The funny part was that Cage (Ghost Rider) and Thomas Jane (The Punisher) were both in the same movie together, Face/Off. Thomas Jane was one of the prison inmates in Face/Off, Nicholas Cage was the co-Star with a John Travolta, who was also the villain in The Punisher.
He was never even asked to come back in the first place. It was only a pitch, and Ryan said that they didn't go forward with it.
No Lewis Willson Batman, it would've been nice to see the first presentation of batman in film to make a cameo in this scene
and no Gab shorts either lol if you watch rifftrax you get the refrence
I'll bet if we did get Tim Burton's Superman Lives back then, Trendmasters would've been storming with the toy merchandise big time.
How fake should this look. YES
Nicolas Cage was never Superman in on tv or in movies. He was cast but the movie was never made. It's beyond my why the director of Flash decided it would be a good idea to have him cameo.
My theatre was so quite when this scene happened, meanwhile with Sony and marvel you got hella loud cinemas
Christopher Reeves and Helen Slater looked good together.
I definitely got misty eyed seeing Christopher Reeves again and hearing his theme for a sec. Witnessing Nic Cage’s Supes on the big screen for the first time made my jaw drop. I couldn’t believe it!
Why don't you learn to spell Reeve?
The Nic Cage Superman scene always gets me, I wish Jon Schnepp would ve been around to see it!
The fact Routh, Cain and Welling didn’t get their cameos still baffles me. I would of written:
Routh’s Superman is lifting the Kryptonite continent into space-he looks over after pushing it away and sees the portal opening before passing out and falling back to his earths orbit.
Cain’s, he’d on the rooftop of the daily planet with Lois (Terry Hatcher) and they’d see the portal-Cain opens his shirt and changes to Superman and flys toward it (Lois knows Clark is Superman by then.)
Welling’s I’d have him at the farm and he walks out of the house and looks up at the portal opening. His parents walk out with him (Tom Schneider and Annette O’Toole) then back to Millers Flash.
actually, I want to clear this thing about Brandon Routh, that man was continuing Reeves Superman, not his own movies, about others, it hurts alot

DC should never do a cameo sequence in a movie ever again
How is the CGI in this movie worse than the Scorpion King, a film made 21 years before it? LMAO
Definitely the best part of the movie 🎬
Can someone explain from a production standpoint why does the spider CGI in the Nic Cage scene looks way better than any other CGI effect in the whole movie?
Is this scene for real or fan made? this looks like 90s video game graphics
This was real from the Flash movie. They could've done a little bit more though. Surprised to have seen Terry Sears and Nick Cage. Especially George Reeves and Christopher Reeves!!
90s video game graphics were a million times worse go check your eyes
The meme of Marvel movies just decending in to glowy lights, member-berries and CGI is absolutely true.

The Cage scene is a reference to a cancel Superman movie called Superman lives and with this context the scene is awesome

I don’t know what’s worse - resurrecting dead actors Vis bad CGI or putting three Ezra Millers in one scene.
