Please don’t ever stop your random chatting or your long episodes. I look forward to listening to you both and count down the days until your next episode. Thank you for being your beautiful selves and keep talking. (Maybe look into some vocal exercises, lol)
Jodi I love how you love your big sister. You are always happy for her and inspired by her. You are always amazied by the things she does and encourage her to reach higher. Everyone should be blessed with such little sister as you. I am sure Tracie feels the same about you and your amazing makes. You are a great pair 🥰
So enjoyed the episode and truly you both could be on for 4 hours and I wouldn’t care. Love it so much. Definitely need to have something with “crank a tube” on it. Love you both share so much as I learn about new designers, makers, yarn dyers, etc. Have a great 2 weeks.
Sorry to hear you were hacked Jodi, nice recovery though. Thanks for sharing this misadventure, it makes us more careful. Thank again for this podcast you DO bring sunshine and light to us.
My Mom spoiled me because she said childhood goes by so fast enjoy it & she did everything. I decided on my own to help her by making her lunch to take to work, draw her tub for when she got home. She worked two jobs, her break was a ride from one job to the other job- she did this for 23 years!!
Oh lovely ladies how you brighten my days! I could listen to you both chatting for ever (and a day) Sending hugs across the pond from here in Yorkshire.Take care and keep sharing your joy 🧶🌻🍁🍂
I love the Moose Print and the support for Children’s Hospital. As a mom of triplets with congenital heart defects I understand the mental hardship that families go through. Thank you for your donation and your support.
New knitter here, long time crocheter, and finding all the yarny podcasts - so glad I found you ladies! Love it! Love your chatter! Live, LOVE all the enabling 😁
Thank you for sharing your cautionary phishing tale Jodi. It's always good to be reminded of that stuff. You both look gorgeous in your color work sweaters side-by-side. Wow Tracie - such knitting talent!
Love you two! Tracie, my plantar fasciitis was helped by going to a sports medicine dr/ chiropractor. They taught me some stretching and strengthening exercises. The most helpful was some electrical stimulation to my feet to break up scar tissue. I hope your feet feel better soon!
I just received my order from the Grocery Girls today! Looks fabulous, love the sock yarn and the knitting labels, can't wait to use them! Already started my gift knitting, so it may be awhile, something to look foward to anyway! Will have to look at all the sock knitting patterns! Cheers from Ontario!
I love the chatter, and the long visits. 💛. I had a weekend 😳 and a week😬, and finally got to watch. You have so many new things to share, it boggles my mind how much you both accomplish. I am worried we are heading to lockdown again. And my own adult ?? daughters and families are part of the problem. And I can’t comprehend their anti attitudes. I have expressed my concerns, written them letters, and worried about my grandchildren….but can’t continue to argue with them or they will stop talking to me completely. Someone told me it’s because we live in SD with a no mask, no shutdown Governor 😡, but 2 of the 3 haven’t lived in SD for 25-30 years! Sorry 😣 for venting, but you two are my friends, that drop in to visit for a couple hours every 2-3 weeks-- you help me keep my sanity 🤯. Thanks so much 💛
Okay, you got me to buy sweater quantities of yarn for the night blooms AND the Love Note sweaters--that was a lot of mohair. I just hope I can finish them! I never thought 2+ hours would go so fast in a podcast but it was so much fun listening to you both. Thank you!
For toe-up socks, try the sewn bind off. I almost always knit toe-up and have tried so many bind-offs, but the sewn is my favorite. It fits well and doesn’t flare. Just make sure to do it loosely. Love you guys!
You hit the nail on the head with parenting philosophy!! We have 18 years to teach them how to get along in the world for the rest of their lives, how on earth do they fend for themselves if we are doing everything for them up to 18 years old? I am mom to a complex disabled adult and I knew early on in our journey together that I would teach him to do as much as he can for himself within his capabilities. The more he can do for himself, the less I have to do in regards to his cares. I am proud of what we've accomplished together. He still lives with me and that choice I made all those years ago is one I'm most proud of. He will be 22 next week!
Just finally got to this episode. Looked up Shaniko wool Co. It is not a breed of sheep but an ethically based yarn Co. near Shaniko, Oregon. A ghost town. They honour the first pioneers and their method of producing yarn.
I really love all of your episodes, it don’t matter what mood I’m in, you always makes my creativity mojo come back, and I’m feeling so happy. Thank you 🤗🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Its always so fun to spend time with you both! I love the long episodes and all the amazing projects, patterns and yarns you share! I love Louie and Lola yarns, I have just ordered two Shawlography sets from Karina because all her colours are just so stunning and decisions are hard!
Hi Jodi, I have plantar fasciitis also since May, I did buy new balance runners with orthotics with another pair of leather loafers. I have discovered a brand of shoes called Vionics, I have ordered flip flops and yesterday go some indoor slippers with heel supports to wear in the house. They are worth it , have helped a lot and less pain.
It was interesting to hear you talk about covid in your area. I thought it was just the anti-vaxholes here in the US causing problems. I guess it’s just the sad state of the current self-centered human condition. Thanks for being a bright light in these dark days. 💕
I know lots of people are giving you advice on your plantar fasciitis!! My advice is ACUPUNCTURE! Amazing, totally healed and never came back! Love you two!
OMG-I watched live for half an hour and then had to run to Tai Chi and then Agility Training with my dog, Prim. Here I was finishing up watching later when Tracey found her Muffy tote, I got a note from Canada Post that my parcel from GG had arrived- and voila- there was MY Muffy bag and other treasures I ordered from the big sale. So much fun!!🤗 Your sweaters and socks are ah-mazing- I want to cast them all on right now! The socks are terrific too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE knitting socks with To The Macks Yarn.
Got to comment after your plantar fasciitis. STRETCHES are the way to go. I was in so much pain for months but religiously started stretches through the calf and up to the flutes, and I don’t have any problems anymore. I have a Pilates reformer which makes it easier, but UA-cam it, there’s a lot of ways to do the stretches without (using stretchy bands etc) good luck 😊
Traci, I’m also suffering again from Plantar after a five year hiatus. I’ve had great luck with a physical therapist who does Active Release Therapy (ART). I’ll warn you it hurts like a mofo, but it works. She is breaking up all these adhesions I had under my foot, but also in my calf and it is really making a huge difference. I feel for you girl, it’s awful. Good luck!!! Love you guys
Drink a lot of water. With a little Celtic salt. Salt helps the water to go to your joints. My husband couldn’t make a fist and started on water. And now he can make a fist again. Worth a try.
I am knitting the Newspaper pullover for the Joji Fall KAL. I was having a conversation with one of the test knitters that identifies with a more masculine style. I am so excited. I need my yarn.
Check out Fleece and Harmony Yarns in PEI. They raise their own sheep, process it themselves, dye it themselves. There is a podcast. A really lovely array of yarns and it is Canadian!! :)
Just started watching you guys and went back to the beginning. LOVE how hilarious you two are!!! SO impressed with your knitting! I just started in 2020 (thank you Covid!!!) and although I feel like I am doing more patterns that are considered "intermediate" than beginner...I am nowhere near ready for all the things you are knitting. Can't wait though! Going to try my first socks with the No Fear Sock group on youtube. UGH...I am SO nervous about it and have been putting it off. STUPID, I know...but here I am! Anyhoo.....hello from San Jose, CA!
Audrey Hepburn’s character at the bar in Funny Face is what I think of when I envision a beatnik. I remember thinking they were so cool when I was a kid. 😆
LOVED the sock talk intro. Honestly, u guys are like stopping and chatting with my sisters! Re plantar fasciitis - please see a chiropractor for attention, do calf exercises...please.....the plantar fascia is connected to the calf muscle and inflamation occurs when the feet r over used and the calves aren't ready for the usage - among other things. Ie doing lots of walking without leading up to it. I speak as a previous sufferer. And massage therapist. Love and hugs xxx
At my house, you’ve been on for 6+ hours. Had lots of interruptions and am now able to watch on my tv! Love your new sweaters and especially love the striped one still in progress. And Joji’s new brioche sweater. Thanks again for a fun day!
Don't ever pay these guys! The ones about a warrant for your arrest also lead to buying Bitcoin. I have done some investigation into these guys. One guy was high and got chatty and gave me a lot of info. Please fill out a police report about the money you paid.
Farmer’s Daughter Fibers sells an amazing Joint and Muscle rub that is magical for any inflammation. I let a few of my friends with arthritis use it and they all ordered multiple jars. It is worth the try.
Another good shoe for plantar fasciitis are Vionics. I have a collapsed arch and they help out a lot, but I know people wear them for plantar fasciitis. They have all sorts of shoes, but I love the flip flops
I had PF and you most likely know this already….you need to do calf stretches, they really help. My family make Perogi too, we love it, it’s yummy with browned butter and sour cream. It is time consuming to make but it’s so delicious 😋
Too funny, I am just finishing up crocheting a blanket that I used Shaniko (pronounced with a soft I) wool company yarn and it’s anything but soft! Sturdy would be the word but gorgeous!!! 😂
Aleve is an anti inflammatory. My rheumatologist recommends only that when having a flare of my psoriatic arthritis. I take Humira but sometimes need more. We have to keep knitting

Love y’all! You always make my day! Tracie, I have been there with foot pain. On the advice of my doc, I ice every evening for thirty minutes or so when I’ve been on my feet a lot. It def helps.
Your sweaters, hat and socks ….are fantastic. Thank you. Jody I use Deep Blue from Doterra for my hand pain. Also you might try getting a massage so you can get knots out of your neck which will also help your hands

I Agree with Tracie about Swatching if you have Gauge on a garment that your happy with, take note, if you want to knit another in similar yarn, why Swatch? Refer back to your notes! xx🌺🌺

Tracie, freeze a water bottle and roll it back & forth underneath foot for pain- it helps!
