      In fairness, with this format I don't need someone to tell me if I'll like it or not. I think we can decide that for ourselves after watching so it may as well have been a review.
      And yes I know your comment is old but I feel like I had to throw that in there for anyone reading it now lol

    I bought one of these just after they were introduced because on paper it sounded like what I had fantasized about having for yrs. A small, but big sounding, all in one amp with a decent reverb, distortion, and maybe a few other usable effects. I anxiously unpacked this unit from its box---set it up in less than 10 minutes and plugged in my Les Paul, did a 'Townsend' D chord and in an instant I knew I had what I had always wanted. These little things are amazing!! The sound quality coming from those little speakers is remarkable. And the volume level you can get that amazing studio quality sound at is all the more amazing. It's great for me as I can take this from room to room with ease. I can take it into my den and play late at night and not disturb anyone. It comes with software to tweak things if you're inclined--I've never bothered. I truly recommend you give this line of amps a try.

      @@Mxteozx I thought it sounded tinny and with a rather harsh overdrive. A very compressed tone. Sold it more or less immediately because I thought my Blackstar Fly 3 had a nicer breakup and feel. Maybe my expectations were too high. But - a while ago I bought another used THR and after some fiddling with the software I think it´s nice. Without the software I think the effects is way too dominant and I don´t like a compressed signal so I turned off the compressor. Now I like it - especially with single coils. So - finally - even I like THR ;-)

    Had it for a year and a half. Love it. I even used it in a gig trough booster -> input -> headphones output -> pedalboard (tuner, delay, reverb) -> DI box -> venue's PA. Sounded great! The only problem was I couldn't switch channels, so it had to be all distorted sound (no problem for me). If it had a channel switch (without sound interruption while changing) it'd be the ultimate amp. Also, you can really improve the sound using the parameters via USB. (compressor, precise delay and reverb tweaking, cabinet and mic selection...). I cannot put in words how great this amp is.

    Yamaha's YPG-235 keyboard has amazing sound clarity through it's internal speakers and it can simulate countless instruments and sound effects. It's a great keyboard. It seems to me that Yamaha has managed to apply that technology into a guitar amp. If that's the case, I'm sold!

    In the software editor, you can put a Studio compressor in front of the amp, you can slam the clean amp with 20 db of gain and change the cabinet to 4x12, it absolutely screams! Plus the amps clean and crunch are pre gain tone stacks, so the bass and treble actually let you filter your distortion breakup. This is my favorite amp ever!

    Still a viable option vs the new Bluetooth versions. Breathed new life into this little gem by plugging in a Boss VE8 into the AUX input. My acoustic guitar and mic are processed by the Boss so it bypasses the THRs preamp and effects section. The THRs hi-fi power amp and speakers deliver clear, useable tone to use live in small spaces and settings. Actually considering busking with this little guy in this setup. Sounds amazing!

    I am going to buy me a used Fender Special HSS strat. Is this AMp the right thing for me? I want to play kind of everything. from AC/DC to Clapton/Dire straits. Does this work?

      all amps are like this because the signal isnt distorted at all. theres also no true gain involved in a clean tone.

    I tired this amp at the store. The clean channel is real real nice. Most of the effects are useless garbage. And the crunch just isnt there. But a very awesome clean channel.

    Amazing vid!
    I have a few questions though:
    I was wondering if you can use the presets you made with the software, even though you are not connected to the computer. For example the compressor.
    Also I was wondering if you recorded that without a mic?

    • @jadonx
      @jadonx 5 років тому

      You can store 5 presets on the amp but if you get the thr app on your phone you can store many more. You need as OTG usb cable to phone to do that though. Would be nice if it was Bluetooth.

      Agreed. I'd be interested if it had 2 channels, higher wattage, effects loop, redesigned cosmetics, etc. Having said that this model is to limited and should be expanded to make it more flexible and useable.

    Is there a reason why it appears that you had to mic this amplifier? Isn't it loud enough on its own?

    • @brandonjohnson8635
      @brandonjohnson8635 5 років тому

      At 10watts I wouldn't have very high expectations for it. I'd say its good for at home playing and possibly playing a solo gig at a small coffee shop. Having said that, I wouldn't be likely to buy it because it's so limiting.

      Mr. XYZ
      It’s probably because they are making a demo to be viewed and heard on UA-cam and maybe the camera they used didn’t have a good enough audio mic.

      No, this amp only has one channel which would be a deal breaker for me. I'd like to see them release higher wattage models w channel switching and redesigned cosmetics.
