    Absolutely clear and informative engaging video so thank you for being so thorough, so clear and hitting point I'm about to start using Mac makeup and I could not determine the function of each of the powders, or how to go about selecting them - but... that part! your video is spot on what I needed and it's to the point,, not too long, yet loaded with the info I needed To help me make an informed decision!! And I didn't have to go all over the place...yours covered it & you didn't miss a beat...thx!!

    I use to wear MAC C4 Over my foundation back in the day. I still use some of my MAC products. I'm trying not to buy makeup that's not animal cruelty free. It's hard these days to even find a good company who doesn't do it. Nowadays brands who didn't test on them are now owned by a bigger company who do , so therefore I'm still spending my money and supporting companies who do. Maybe one day it will all stop. ❤️🐶❤️🐶

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  7 років тому +3

      Yeah..I always thought they were animal cruelty free.. thats what we were trained when I worked for them. I think companies that sell in China have to test on animals is that right? So for a company to be totally against animal testing they cannot sell their products in China..is that right? I thought that was the position NARS took on the subject.

    New subscriber, Great vid, ty! I have darker brown hair w/ Carmel highlights but my natural skin is medium w/ pink undertones but most days I wear foundations & powders def darker then my skin (blend neck to match). It's not nearly as drastic as it sounds but my questions if I should buy NW bc of pinker (Gernam/Irish) or is it better to do NC since I look better w/ a tanner completion. I want to rid the red undertones. I've always been confused on that issue, thnx & best of luck online!

    I'm turning 42, and while i generally have good skin, I'm starting to notice under eye texture that wasn't there before. So I'm considering skipping the under eye concealer + powder option and go with a powder foundation in that area instead. It needs to be finely milled and brightening, not matte either. Recommendations? Opinions?

I've heard the Next to nothing powder is amazing and even gives a sheen. I believe it's a newer powder. What would you recommend for me as a setting powder? I would love your input. I am new to your channel and I know this video was done long ago but thought I'd give my opinion anyway. I don't know if you finally tried the Careblend but I will say that it is a beautiful powder for dryer and aging skin since it has shea butter in it, just use a light hand under the eyes and you're good to go. The only drawback , the shade selection is limited, not as wide as studio fix. If you tried the Pro Longwear, I would love to hear your thoughts on it !!

    Lisa, what shade did you use in the Mineral Skinfinish??
    I just placed an online order, for 3 different powder, and in Skinfinish, I chose Medium. I probably should call the company tomorrow and change to LightPlus.
    Im very fair but I use darker powders in summer, , and self tan my body,, so that's whyI chose Medium.
    But I'm having serious doubts, bc I realize this powder is not the same ad other powders, and I'm going for an effect, not necessarily to match colors like with other powders, KWIM?
    Thinking I would have been better off now with the Light or Light Plus because the lighter color might be a prettier effect.
    Please answer if you see this post.. I know you might not see it for a while, if ever😵☺👌

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  9 років тому

      Janet Davis I don't... I like the regular Double Wear more than the Maximum coverage (the one in the blue tube), if you feel like the reg is too heavy, this one will probably feel more heavy. You can always dilute your DW down with a liquid primer or a little moisturizer or some of my other favorites that are less heavy are the YSL Fusion Ink Foundation (super lightwieght and build able coverage), the Maybeliine Fit Me Matte Foundation is pretty good too.

    Can i use the studio sculpt powder in medium deep as a bronzer for the lighter skin? I want a naturally bronzy look :)

      Hi! I haven't tried the Medium Deep shade, but I would think that would be a good bronzer shade for you if you are NC25... Medium Dark may be a tad light for bronzer. Sorry... not sure if that helps?

    What's the difference between the Blot Powder and the Prep N Prime finishing powder? Especially since the blot pretty much has zero coverage whatsoever?

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  8 років тому +1

      Good question... they are pretty similar... the prep n prime has a smoother finish in my opening and doesn't look as dry on the skin. But they are basically the same in the sense that they are transparent and a setting powder.

    I just got back from a MAC counter where I went to get shade matched for the studio fix powder foundation as I have not used it in years and did not know if I would be in the same shade. Thank goodness I have some make up knowledge. The girl was trying to sell me BOTH the liqid foundation and the powder foundation, telling me to set it with it. I told her no, I do not want to look cakey. Years ago I was matched as NC35, this girl said no way, and matched me as C3. MAC has such a bizarre color system. Anyway I am debating on getting the C3, but want to know what is the best MAC concealer to use with it.

    Hi Lisa🙂 You stated NW is for those with pink warm undertone. My knowledge is that yellow undertone = warm and pink undertone = cool.

    • @lisajmakeup
      @lisajmakeup  8 років тому +2

      At MAC we were always trained.. NW (Neutral warm) NC (Neutral Cool) . NW had pink undertones and NC were golden

      MAC has a kind of a reverse logic with their shade descriptions.

      Carmen MAC's NW stands for Neutral Warm and NC for Neutral Cool.
