This is a great video, thank you. I love MAC Studio Fix - it's serious coverage. I'm almost 50, so not sure if it's a generational thing but I grew up using powder foundation like my mother, grandmother. It's just quick & easy to me.
My favourite tip for powder foundation is to use a really good longwear concealer under the eyes and set it with a translucent powder and then swirl a small amount of translucent powder all over the face before buffing the foundation on. It makes it look smoother and lasts longer for me. A good buffing brush/primer and setting spray is very important too.
would you say the Real Techniques' Expert face brush would work for this? I want full coverage and trying for a pressed powder so I can take it on the go but have full coverage faster than loose powder. I know the brush makes the biggest difference between coverage.

Do you apply liquid concealer under or over the powder foundation? If you put it under, do you set it with a translucent powder and not put the powder foundation on top? Won’t the powder foundation cover up the brightening effect? Or would you use a lighter powder foundation to set it? Does this make sense?! Am when I wear powder foundation I use liquid concealer underneath but I set it with a translucent/brightening powder. I set the concealer first and then do my powder foundation and avoid those areas but still blend the foundation into the outer areas of where that brightening powder would be so it all blends together
Am I don’t use liquid concealer with powder foundation. I just use the Well Rested Powder! I used to put liquid concealer on top of powder and it was fine, just a little heavy.

It looks so good on you! Years ago I used a Shiseido powder foundation and I loved it. But as I got older it just never looked right, I guess my skin became so dry that it just wasn't working. Also back then I never used a primer. I also have used the Bare Minerals powder but never feel like I get the coverage I want. Great look Shelbey!! I've been using Laura Geller Balance and Brighten powder foundation for 3 years now and I love it. I really want to try the bare minerals loose powder after watching your videos on it and also try your application techniques. I love the subltle glow it gives without the highlighter. Me being 52 and all, I have to pick my glowy probucts carefully as to not accentuate the fine lines.

It has a curved shape and it is really amazing to use, I even use it for liquid sometimes if I want more of a light airbrush. I work for them so I use it a lot at counter and it is just so different! My Daugher had also been through some life changes, handled them well..I so admire all you young women who work And also have a family, though we definitely encourage our daughter to take a good long maternity leave and then a break to spend time with her baby before coming back to work but since she's a nurse it wasn't like she could have the baby next to her like you can when you're filming, so here break had to be little longer.. You're the only one I can rely on for any info./How to regarding Bareminerals pls keep providing vids/help about it. I'm now 58 w/th acne prone skin & large pores all thru my T-zone. I'm definitely a powder foundation girl but have really struggled with caking etc. and buffing it in just made things worse. What I discover was that you need the right brush because it makes a massive difference. The failures tended to be too dense and stiff. My HG at the moment is my Marc Jacobs The Bronze Bronzer brush. It applies my MAC Studio Fix + powder foundation beautifully. No caking, beautifully sheer. Bought sooo many brushes to get to the right one though.

Beautiful! Mac has been my HG for years! And I'm the same shade as you NC25, my question to you, does the BM have the same coverage as this one does? I have tried the BM Pro powder foundation but I have to keep adding more and more and buffing to get the same coverage as MAC when in 2 applications I am done.
Beautiful! I've found my routine with powder foundation as u said, u have to find the right products for every skin type, that makes the difference. So far my go to powd found is the Lily lolo one! Last all day and looks pretty on skin. I like the bareminerals too, but u it's diff. Xo!

What I’ve learned from other Mua is that a fix it spray is fixing the makeup which gives you that smooth look to help the powder not look so dry or too much and a setting spray is just that is sets the look all in
Christina K Honestly, sometimes it looks awesome and sometimes it can get a bit creasy. I guess since my under eye isn’t really a problem area, I can layer it pretty heavy. I know Emily Noel uses it as a setting powder for cream Concealer so maybe that might be a better option?
I know u said u do t like the it cosmetics illumination powder , but it tried it this morning bc I was going to get rid of it and I tried it with the bm flawless face brush and wow!! I freaking loveeeee this and the simplicity of powder foundation! I’m alllll down to buff my arm off to get the product worked into the skin but my problem has been finding a powder like bare minerals original that doesn’t break me out 🤔 I tried the original a couple years ago but felt like it caused little bumps and breakouts after a few days of consistently using it. My skin has changed since then but maybe the ingredients have to?
If you use the studio color and correct palette concealer first, will applying the powder like you did in this video disrupt and ruin the concealing you did? I have hyperpigmentation I need to cover.
BareMinerals original foundation is the ONLY foundation that look good on me!😄 I can't make a liquid or creme foundation looking good, no mather what I'm doing. Thank you for refreshing my mind on how to wear powder foundation. I have bare mineral foundation but I've found that it has started to oxidize. It gets darker and darker throughout the day. I still use the bronzer but VERY lightly. Lol rested eyes is a go to for me. I need to look into the rest of the brand. Any suggestions.

I love powder foundation. Liquid just turns my face into an oil well and is like a magnifying glass for pores. And no its not about putting it a certain way as its just some peoples skin not accepting it well. Specially for combo skin. I have a question . So many people are extremely afraid of mac foundations as it causes breakouts. Is that true for the powder too? ? As u have great skin but with acne prone skin idk if it will work. Also could u do a demo using powder foundation with a cream or liquid concealer. To see if its possible and if it works to cover circles and blemishes. Also with finishing pwr vs setting pwr. Ulta had me at a medium for the bare minerals years ago. My drugstore foundations are like a creamy beige or buff nude. It applies my MAC Studio Fix + powder foundation beautifully. No caking, beautifully sheer. Bought sooo many brushes to get to the right one though.

Beautiful! Mac has been my HG for years! And I'm the same shade as you NC25, my question to you, does the BM have the same coverage as this one does? I have tried the BM Pro powder foundation but I have to keep adding more and more and buffing to get the same coverage as MAC when in 2 applications I am done.
Beautiful! I've found my routine with powder foundation as u said, u have to find the right products for every skin type, that makes the difference. So far my go to powd found is the Lily lolo one! Last all day and looks pretty on skin. I like the bareminerals too, but u it's diff. Xo!

What I’ve learned from other Mua is that a fix it spray is fixing the makeup which gives you that smooth look to help the powder not look so dry or too much and a setting spray is just that is sets the look all in

Christina K Honestly, sometimes it looks awesome and sometimes it can get a bit creasy. I guess since my under eye isn’t really a problem area, I can layer it pretty heavy. I know Emily Noel uses it as a setting powder for cream Concealer so maybe that might be a better option?

I know u said u do t like the it cosmetics illumination powder , but it tried it this morning bc I was going to get rid of it and I tried it with the bm flawless face brush and wow!! It’s so pretty not as thick with that brush, maybe u can try it and do a video on it? Tfs and yes u r the powder and bm 👸
I know this is an old video but what if you have sunscreen under? Would buffing not mess up the sunscreen layer underneath? Hoping to buy Studio Fix soon but don't wanna give up the sun protection and I don't wanna switch to liquid foundation or powder/spray sunscreen :(

I freaking loveeeee this and the simplicity of powder foundation! I’m alllll down to buff my arm off to get the product worked into the skin but my problem has been finding a powder like bare minerals original that doesn’t break me out 🤔 I tried the original a couple years ago but felt like it caused little bumps and breakouts after a few days of consistently using it. My skin has changed since then but maybe the ingredients have to?
If you use the studio color and correct palette concealer first, will applying the powder like you did in this video disrupt and ruin the concealing you did? I have hyperpigmentation I need to cover.

You should try Idun minerals powder foundation! It has mica like the bareminerals one! And i think its less expensive too
BareMinerals original foundation is the ONLY foundation that look good on me!😄 I can't make a liquid or creme foundation looking good, no mather what I'm doing. And I'm 45 years old and I also have really dry skin, and despite that bareMinerals scoops out any other foundation. Love from a very cold Sweden (17,6 degree Fahrenheit😬)
My fave is It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation Illumination powder. I originally bought it to set liquid foundation, but tried it alone & omg why I slept on powder foundation I dunno. I'm oily normal & find powder foundation looks 100x better & more skin like than liquids on me. Which is kind of sad bc I've got a drawer full of liquids & now feel like I don't need them.

Thank you for refreshing my mind on how to wear powder foundation. I have bare mineral foundation but I've found that it has started to oxidize. It gets darker and darker throughout the day. I still use the bronzer but VERY lightly. Lol rested eyes is a go to for me. I need to look into the rest of the brand. Any suggestions.

I love powder foundation. Liquid just turns my face into an oil well and is like a magnifying glass for pores. And no its not about putting it a certain way as its just some peoples skin not accepting it well. Specially for combo skin. I have a question . So many people are extremely afraid of mac foundations as it causes breakouts. Is that true for the powder too? ? As u have great skin but with acne prone skin idk if it will work. Also could u do a demo using powder foundation with a cream or liquid concealer. To see if its possible and if it works to cover circles and blemishes. Also with finishing pwr vs setting pwr. Which is btr?also how long does bare minerals foundation last using it daily? A mth 3 mths ? Many different opinions on it. Any insight will be valid. Thanks

Hi there. I really want to try this but I'm having trouble eyeing the right shade for me. My coworker says I'm a light with pink undertones. My veins look bluish to me. Ulta had me at a medium for the bare minerals years ago. My drugstore foundations are like a creamy beige or buff nude. I've tried watching videos of women that have similar skin tones but it's so hard to tell. Can you help me?
